But expired milk that hasn't clotted or otherwise significantly changed in taste is still good to use for cooking. I wouldn't drink it straight though...

The date written on food packages is not the day that it goes bad , it's actually the day they have to be removed from the store shelves and the product is still good for like a week after the end of that date .

I'd very often see things (such as produce) that would last a SUPER long time one time and then go bad in nearly no time the following time. The same goes for milk. It depends on what bacteria's already in it and/or have been introduced, etc. Usually once it's been open it doesn't last as long. But expired milk that hasn't clotted or otherwise significantly changed in taste is still good to use for cooking. I wouldn't drink it straight though...
That’s the sell by date. If you have a best by or use by date it’s actually the date the product is best to eat or drink.
