I was waiting for the cello to come ripping in at the end of that beautiful descending crescendo, only to be met with the most delicate and soft playing. Excellent interpretation, in your quietness you've become as loud as an orchestra, my heart skipped a beat.
Such a lovely interpretation of one of my favorite pieces ever. The first time I heard the Adagietto was in 1971 in the movie 'Death In Venice' (written by Thomas Mann) starring Dirk Bogarde. It was, of course, the original orchestral version by Mahler. It was the chief underlying score for the film. This version here is an astonishing reading of this piece, and is worthy of a film score of its own. Thank you so much for uploading this piece. It was heretofore unknown to me.
I don't usually like reinterpretations. But this one is so faithful to the feeling of the original, so exquisitely expressive, that I like it very much.
would you happen to have/be able to share the sheet music? I want to play this for my next recital and my teacher loved it and thought it would be good to start teaching me to play very soft. I was going to transcribe it but I really love your version. I would keep the piece titled as being arranged by you if you give me a name. It would mean the world to me
Thank you very very much for your asking about sheet music. But I regret to say that I don't have this sheet music because this arrangement almost improvisation by cellist and pianist. I only talked them about arrangement image.
You must really love a piece of music to be able to come up with such a beautiful re-interpretation of it.
