How curious, both Europeans and North Americans are surprised that Chile is modern, because there is the stereotype of the Latino with dirty cities, disorder, and little less that we travel in carts and use arrows and loincloths, fortunately I have traveled quite a bit and it is true Santiago is very similar to several European and North American cities even with that lack of culture of street stripes or urban art.. The gringos are surprised that the Chileans are not so kind or helpful to them. Simply because the economy of our country is not based on tourism like Mexico or Colombia, where practically the locals would do anything to please the gringos or the Europeans. And they also don't like that we're not happy or dancing and screaming all day. We are not the typical Latin stereotype and that bothers them. When they come here they want a party, drugs, women, oh, no, friend, if you are looking for that, you can go to the Caribbean and the countries of banana cultures.
Metro De Santiago is the best metro service in all Latin America, better than Mexico City, Sao Paulo or EEUU.
