Congrats! You did your homework, this is a very good one day walking tour of Santiago. I'm a local Santiaguino and I totally approve the route. If your planning a day in Santiago, this is a pretty good reference. Some footnotes in case someone is interested: 1. From Apoquindo/Las Condes to downtown I would have take the Subway. It's safe, modern and on weekends not very crowded (I would avoid it workdays from 8am to 10am and from 5pm to 8pm). 2. La Moneda is a few blocks away from Plaza de Armas, it is worth a visit. 3. You went to a very traditional and familiar Café con piernas, some santiaguinos would say it isn't really a café con piernas. "Real" café con piernas have tainted windows (I'm not saying you should go, but if you want the real café con piernas local experience, that's what you should look for 😂) 3. Antigua fuente is THE place, but you should order LOMITO italiano, not hot dogs. Bourdain was misslead on that by his guide. 4. If you want hot dogs ( we call them completos), Dominó is the place to go (chilean sandwich chain, not the pizza place). Ask for "completo dominó". 5. In Providencia, walking distance from cable car station you can go to El Baco, great place for a dinner and one of the best places to taste chilean wine (you can order by the glass and taste different types).

Sadly chile, specially since 2019 has been on a state of decay. The housing market and the state are not able to accommodate all of the population, specially the huge number of immigrants that have entered the country illegally, so irregular housing has become a huge issue, it's everywhere, in the hills, under overpasses, besides highways... Also we were a very safe country for LATAM standards, but crime, homicide rates, drug trafficking have gone up substantially. We see torture and kidnapped on the daily, Wich was a very unusual thing before. The worst part is that it's linked to international drug trafficking bands that operate in the country now(Tren the Aragua for example). They use chile as a gateway to Europe. This also ties with a horrible economic situation that has left the country in not so good state. Cities as a whole are dirtier, uglier, less cared for, less invested in. The slow death of the country that was constructed has been specially true since the social uprising of October 2019. The country is now a shit hole for the most part. The center of santiago (tho today it's a lot better than a few years ago) is the biggest example of how bad things are... Informal commerce has taken the streets and buildings, offices and restaurants have been closed or shut down for good. The rich and middle classes have scaped the center and fine only to the richest part of town, making the city more segregated than it was.

So excited to see you in South America! We are hoping you make it to Brazil. One of our favourite travel destinations! We love Rio and balnearios. If you go to Rio don’t miss Buzios!
Brazil isn’t on the cruise destinations but a South America series is coming soon!! 😂✌️
Wellcome Have fun
You guys had Pisco Sour! That's an amazing drink. Indeed, there are differences between Chilean pisco and the Peruvian pisco. Basically, it's about where the grapes were grown and the way the pisco is distilled. For me, I like both. 😎👍
Thanks for the tips!
Am watching from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
thank you

Next time you should know the metro system, it was classified as the best metro system in the entire continent, including North, Central and South America.
It has a lot of art inside, driverless lines, etc.
Thank you!

Congratulations you did so well. I'm from Chile. But I don't live in the capital. Santiago is a modern city. But there are some underserved area where no one want to go. Well in Europe these areas are better known like on go zone. Good luck. God bless you.

Hello sir watching from Dhaka Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Beautiful walk!! I love my city!!! Walking around a hot summer day, a little bit drunk off the pisco sour, just wondering over to la fuente alemana for a nice Austral Schop with, in my case, a lomo plata Mayo chucrut… then some ice cream at emporio la rosa , see some art in GAM and MNBA, and lay down in parque forestal and Watch out girls play and kiss and snuggle with my wife in the shade. Heaven on earth
Yea
