notes: Using the same template as OASIS ARKAOBYSS, GARGOYLE, and iTABOO, but tweaked a bit again. Incorporating some interesting polyrhythms for this song. As with the rest of the Graephyre six artworks I'll be using the same art, but different colors/themes to differentiate visually, at least for now; I might eventually switch to no differentiation at all, but for that I would prefer a more sophisticated piece of album artwork.
Using the same artwork and template like a traditional album enables me to just get right to the composition. I do like the idea of each song having a totally unique sound and art piece, but it just takes so much time. It's fun engineering new templates, mixing a brand new kit with different samples and constructing a different saturation chain for the bass amplification, but doing so makes a new song only possible once every month or two, sometimes even less frequently than that. My forte before engineering is composition; engineering takes years of dedication and ear training and there is no getting around that. I've spent over a decade practicing engineering and have come a long long way. While I love the engineering side deeply, it's time for a change, and I'm happy to be able to open my new template and just get going with a fresh song so easily.
