Someone asked me ‘don’t you mind sharing your personal life so publicly?’ - No, not stuff like this. My relationships etc, not so much, that’s private and personal. But my life experiences and journey, I will absolutely share. Because if it can inspire one person out there to keep going and never give up then that’s amazing to me 💕💙 if it helps someone out there then that’s a massive bonus to me. Never give up on your dreams - you can do anything you put your mind to. Xox
Yes Claire, your story, your inspiration words, all those stuffs you have shared, help one here to keep going ❤️👍👍 Stay strong Stay happy 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Thank you for sharing 🌷
wow! This is very inspirational, there's so much pressure at age 17/18 to pick one thing that you want to do for the rest of your life but this just shows you find the right career when it's meant for you. Cool to hear your story!
Maggie Warburton Thank you Maggie! There absolutely is way too much pressure these days. Probably more so now than I had back then 😭 But even if someone picked something and it’s completely wrong, it’s never too late to change career paths in life :) we’ve got 50+ year olds in my year 🙌🏻💕 it’s amazing to see. I hope you’re having a great weekend x
Hi, I’m starting Adult Nursing on the 14th September and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your videos. They are so helpful and motivational; I was feeling nervous about the course but having watched all your videos I’m so excited to start. You are such an incredible person and your enthusiasm for nursing is so infectious. You’re a massive role model & I hope I remain as dedicated as you during my course. Thankyou so much for all the advice you put into every video you make, I really appreciate it X
g s Aww that’s so lovely of you!! Thank you so much for your comment 🥰 Your journey won’t be easy 24/7 and there will be days where you want to give up, but please don’t. Keep going, remind yourself why you wanted to be a nurse. You’ll be absolutely fine :) it’s going to be one incredible journey that’s for sure. Good luck for starting 🌟💕 find your feet and get used to uni life and make friends! :) xox
Claire, I'm feeling super emotional watching your video! You're an angel, and I'm proud of everything you have achieved. I've had years of setbacks in my education and professional life which made me feel like I'm not good enough or worthy of a strong career! I don't feel like that now, but these insecurities followed me throughout my early 20s. I dropped out of University two years into a degree when I was 21, and it wasn't until I was 24 that I started further education again with Open University. I have two years left of my English degree before I can start my Pre-Reg in Nursing. I haven't chosen which branch I want to go into yet. My next step is to get a job in care and to gain as much experience as I can possibly can in before starting my nursing degree. I'll be 32 by the time I qualify, but it will be so worth it. The struggle is real. Don't quit and keep going. You're amazing. Lou xxx
lajefa616 morning! Awww well done for everything! 🤩👏🏻 you’re doing bloody amazing keep going! It will be so worth it in the end. Follow your heart all the way. For me it was always adult nursing purely because I knew where I wanted to go and what I needed for it. It’s great to do some care work I think to see what types of nursing there is too :) think ahead to your future and where you’d like to work. You can also ask places if you can go and have a ‘shadow shift’ of some sort or a look around and talk to the teams :) see what’s out there. There’s so much variety to nursing, it’s amazing. There’s also dual qualifications you can do if you wanted 2 different fields of nursing :) xx
I’ve been watching your videos since last year! Xx I’m gonna start university in the next few weeks as a 1st year student nurse, im sooo nervous/excited!!
Natasha H It’s been one journey that’s for sure haha! I think this is only half of the story probably 😂 I could write a book on my life I think haha! But it might explain why I’m so motivated and dedicated now 🙈💕 Hope you’re having a great weekend :) xx
I don't know how I've only just found this video now! WOW!!! What an amazing story, what an inspiration, what a journey... Thank you. Sensational, truly a roller-coaster ride, you should be endlessly proud of yourself and I'm entirely sure your grandparents would be glowing with pride for all you've been through, done, have achieved and WILL achieve. 👍😁
Yes Claire! Glad you’re doing what you want to do now! I agree! We all have different paths and sometimes it’s not even the end goal that matters the most right now, it’s the journey there that shapes us to be the most amazing version of ourselves to the end goal and I’m glad you’re there for the motivation. Thank you for sharing your story 😁
After the most difficult second year of nursing for many reasons this has given me even more inspiration to carry on into third year and smash it! So inspirational, you are going to be the most amazing nurse xxxx
Louise Gatfield Second year for so many people is the hardest 😭 I didn’t talk about second year in this one because my vlog was already too blooming long haha! But in second year, I had 101 things happen to me and almost gave up myself 😭 luckily I pushed through! Third year, for me, is by far better than second year haha. Never give up Louise, keep going. One last year to push now!! It goes so fast! You’ll be fine 🌟🌟🌟 then once you qualify you can work anywhere you want and be whatever you want in this life :) xox
Wow Claire that was a very emotional video, I sincerely relate to it. I have been trying since 2016 to start my child nursing and I agree that giving up isn't an option. I also believe that all my setbacks leading up to the time was for the best even if I couldn't see it that way. I feel so much more ready and the kids are much older now. So Claire thank you so much for your encouraging words and they mean so much. I feel so much more confident about this course since watching your blog. I can't wait to start this September after achieving my maths which was the last hurdle to me starting.
Aletia Hamilton 2016! That’s still a long time too. But everything definitely happens for a reason I believe. And you’ll be so much better for it 💕🥰 I bet you can’t wait to start now. Maths was always my nightmare haha! I’ve been luckily that our uni maths exams have seemed easy to me 🙈 very fortunate there lol. Now the little ones are older you should have some more time to yourself hopefully too :) that will be a bonus for you x
Claire Carmichael @ Claire yes kids being older is a bouns especially with my daughter turning 16 it means on night sift she can help with her brother who will be 9. I'm a single mum so every help is important. Like you, my confidence is at an all-time low and been in my 40s I guess makes me more actions. I am a slow learner too always having to read things over and over again before getting it. I always see myself as not cleaver for nursing and especially the pediatric nurse. However, you have inspired me in many ways. I could go on an on Claire so be proud of how much people you are reaching out to. Xx
Aletia Hamilton Aw that’s great to hear! I’m so glad she can help with the little one :) that’s lovely. Make your placement aware that you have no help at home for the little ones and if they can be more considerate around the night shifts :) fingers crossed you don’t get many! I’m like you too. It takes me time to learn things, but just make sure you use everything you can; watch videos, speaking, listening, writing, drawing in colour and diagrams etc :) it really does help so much! 💕 you’ll be absolutely fine :) x
Had tears in my eyes watching this, you're such an inspiration! Ive had 2 years of knockbacks, due to poor mental health etc. This year ive decided to do my Level 4 HNC in healthcare practice and then go onto university. I needed this, your story has inspired me. Thank you. You deserve them blues!
Katie Finn Morning! Thank you so much Katie 💕 2 years of knock-backs must feel awful but it will be all worth it in the long run I promise :) everything in life teaches us lessons I think. It helps us get stronger 💪🏻 keep going Katie, never stop believing in yourself and never give up that dream! 🌟💕🌻 xx
Wow Claire !!! your journey is amazing and inspirational, thank you so much for sharing, well done for all your hard work, I can relate to some of your experiences, I came to the UK as an adult, I always wanted to become paediatric nurse, I did different courses and finally I am starting second year, I always watch your videos and they are all amazing and are a great motivation, thank you for sharing your experiences and your amazing journey and I wish you all the best !!! :)

Wow Claire, what an emotional journey you have been on. I truly love how motivated and passionate you are. Your going to be one incredible nurse. I have also taken the scenic route and watching this vlog has made me realise how far I have come too. The message is real....never ever give up..You can do this! This vlog by far is one of my favourites of yours. Thankyou so much for sharing your story, even if it has turned me into a blubbering wreck😭😭 you smashed it. Well done ❤
Kelly Clamp awwww thank you Kelly! It’s been such a long journey for a few students I think. But it’s definitely all worth it! 💕💙 I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else right now. But I think it definitely makes you more determined and more motivated than ever! Well done to you too for never giving up :) you’ll be a blooming fantastic nurse as a result of everything you’ve been through 💕 I’m so excited for you! :) xox
Thank you for sharing your story, it's has highlighted many things to me - I can relate to a good few of your experiences and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Many things can lower confidence and esteem, but when we recover we get stronger and wiser due to our experiences. You've done brilliantly, and are a great example to others. Watching today has helped me with a couple of things, which i will work on over this coming period. I start my course next month in MH Nursing after taking the scenic route, and now is the right time for me - earlier may have been too soon. Keep up the good work Claire :) best wishes. X
john stones Morning John! Thank you so much for your comment :) All of your journey and experiences will help you through your degree too and you’ll be stronger and better for it! Keep going and be amazing 💙🌟 x
Thank you hope your weekend is also great. You know what Claire it’s crazy how time goes so fast. Naima Ali Thank you so much! I’m soooo excited to finish 🤗 it’s gone so fast! I’ve blinked and it’s gone lol. Yes the burns - I love wounds 😂🙈 not so nice for the patient but I love doing them 🥰 have you started now? Xx

You also get to know different cultures. *sigh* the perks of being a nurse are infinite haha x
