- Placement Preparation | Nursing UK - Some tips on how to prepare for placement along with me calling up for my hours for my final management placement! Eeee! How exciting. Thank you to Nel as well for letting me video hers and uploading it.

I actually got nervous watching you call placement! 😂 I get so so nervous when I call mine...roll on placement 3 in January👌🏻 good luck on your management!!
Jon It was horrible hah! I don’t know why. I’m usually ok ringing placements 😂🙈 but this made me nervous.
I tried calling all day long... wrong number 😂🤦🏻♀️

This is so useful. I'm so confused about my placement and calling up. My placement starts 4/5th January. But we're supposed to call up a couple of weeks before? That would be in the Xmas holidays. My university has really left me clueless on this. I'm definitely rewinding and noting how you talk on the phone to them and what you say because this was giving me anxiety. Thank you

Watching you trying to get through to your placement on the phone was tooo relatable haha! Yep... my next placement is on a high dependency unit which i'm honestly so hyped for. I'm going to go in for a visit two weeks before to show my face and have a look at where I'm meant to be going and what it's like there

Claire thank you for this video, it is by far the most helpful vlog at the moment, i just called my practice placement today, (!! literally 24 mins ago !!) i've still got the nervous shakes whilst typing this! But you deserve the praise as your video gave me the jumpstart i needed to initiate that first call! Im a first year at BCU (S) and yes u guessed it, my FIRST placement allocation and already off to a good start!! x

@@ClaireCarmichael it's the PAU at BCH it might be wards (Arc needs some organising 🙄) but I botched up my first call 😅 I called the placement education centre instead of the actual place so I waited a few mins after 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ and than got to the right person, it's actually called off-duty shifts (a tip the wrong caller gave me 😅😉)
This was so informative Claire. I get anxiety and the thought of asking the wrong questions terrifies me 😂 this has helped me so much, thank you!
James Morning! No question is a stupid question honestly. And every qualified nurse / mentor would have asked the same question at some point in their life I’m sure :) we’ve all got to learn 🤗🌟 you’ll be fabulous I’m sure! X

Could you do a video how to fill out application form on nhs job please and how to incoporate 6'c and trust values. Maybe do the latter with examples xx

Omg poor lass hahaha I hate twilight shifts with all my soul 😂 Hey Claire could you please talk about tattoos? Stuff like any rules or policies within the NHS, how patients see tattooed staff, if theres something negative about having them while working in healthcare, etc.

Nel is so gutted with twilight shifts 😭 it would be ok if this hospital was down the road but it takes about 1.5 hours to get too! 😭 and at 3am there’s no buses etc to get her home. I’m sure she will sort it out though with them 🤗 x

You’re right though, you can’t pay that for taxis all the time, that’s not fair :( but I’m sending her the claims form to claim the taxi back 🤗 which might help her out.
What and where are you getting your tattoo? 😍 x
Can your friend book into an hotel? We apparently have that option if placements are difficult to get to or home from.
Dwaine Wilson yes that’s a good idea actually! 🤔 I’ll tell her this. Because we can claim travel and hotel expenses too!🤗 x
