Thank you very much. I‘m glad you like it. The bell was worth every second of work. It brings back the sound and shine of the sixties.

How did you straighten the threaded centre column to get the two halves parallel? Mine looks exactly like yours did at the start of this (amazing) video.

Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you like it. I simply installed the two halves and marked the high spots on the lower half. After taking them apart, I heated the centre column a bit and used a steel tube that tightly fits the outer diameter of the pin to bend it in the direction of the marking. Did this 2-3 times until they matched. Hope it helps. Good luck and have fun.

@@JustbuildTW That helps a lot, many thanks. Only, when you say 'heated a bit', how hot does it need? Are we talking dull red, or nothing like that?

No, just a bit heat helps, but not really necessary. Too much heat is not good for the suroundings and red glow will destroy the bell😉More important is, not to bend the pin back and forward….it would brake.

@@JustbuildTW I'll be careful. Thanks again. Wish I had your skills, would love to restore my Solex to as-new condition.
