In the preface itself the author has mentioned - the novel may not coroborate with History n many narratives are purely imagination. Bajirao of History is totally different than that of Fiction.

Kashi was a very good human being, and this situation to show that she can be angry too (its natural reaction) is difficult. Mastani and Bajirao really angered me with their vulgar and pathetic "love". It took Mastani and Bajirao merely 5 minutes to supposedly fall in love, knowing next to nothing about each other. He doesn't have the shame or decency to avert his gaze and/or keep his distance from her at least until he breaks his relationship with his wife. Rather, he's getting it on with her and then going home and getting it on with his wife too. Which is just vile and disrespectful to both Kashibai and Mastani. Though, Mastani is clearly ok with this because she willingly accepts and participates in the wrecking of another woman's home and marriage. It irks me how this movie is trying to pass off cheating as an acceptable thing in the name of so called "love". I do not believe what Mastani and Bajirao had was love, but rather that it was mere lust and infatuation. Also, I believe a love that begins in the hurting and betraying of another isn't a healthy love and nor does it last. He'll probably cheat on Mastani down the road too, but again, she'll be ok with it. It's horrible how Mastani was treated by the society for her religious background but I could care less how many pretty words she speaks of equality and romance when she is being unjust with another for the sake of her own so called love. I really despised Bajirao and Mastani's characters. They feel little to no remorse for their actions, especially Mastani. Apart from the cheating, Bajrao and Mastani were horrible characters; Bajrao being a major whiney self absorbed manchild and a man who clearly favours his son with Mastani over his 2 sons with Kashibai and Mastani being so damn easy and desperate she gives herself to a married man whom she spends the rest of the film wailing for and then victimizing herself. She dares utter words like “Just because he’s with me doesn’t mean he’s not with you” lol I wanted to slap Mastani and her twisted ideology on love. Kashibai stole the show, not only with her kind yet spunky nature but her maturity to show kindness to the other woman. She recognized this whole predicament as wrong; as disrespectful to her and perhaps Mastani too. She did not stay with a man who rejected her and she refused to share him, like Mastani was willing to. For this, I highly respected Kashibai. She didn't cry for him to stay or lower her morals and self respect to make him stay. She simply left him, acknowledging that he did not love her. And yet, she was there for him till the end even when he did not acknowledge her. I did not enjoy this movie and could care less about Bajirao and Mastani but Priyanka did a fantastic job and truly her scenes were the best in the movie. If for no other reason, I’ll watch it again for Kashibai.

It was a superb scene with a powerhouse performance by PC! Mastani had to bear the brunt of being an intruder in Kashibai's life! Deepika too acted well as Mastani with her eyes expressing her pain for being labeled as rakhel

After months of searching this movie with subtitles i finally found it and watch it, and the thing that really piss me off the most is the fact that Kashi was one of the few people who didn't treat Mastani in bad way and in the end acknowledge her somehow, yet Kashi was the person that Mastani hurt the most and she didn't show any remorse of that.

Priyanka was very wise to play this role even when it was a supporting role because she, hands down, stole all the fucking limelight 🙌 you cant see anyone else when priyanka is in the frame too. Omg her acting is beyond perfect! Deepika acted really good but priyanka lived the role of kashi bhai she takes you under the skin of kashi bhae and one can feel her pain like its their own! After months of searching this movie with subtitles i finally found it and watch it, and the thing that really piss me off the most is the fact that Kashi was one of the few people who didn't treat Mastani in bad way and in the end acknowledge her somehow, yet Kashi was the person that Mastani hurt the most and she didn't show any remorse of that.
