To anyone who has not noticed the importance of colour in their costumes. Deepika is wearing bright red colour outfit while Priyanka is wearing a bit dull violet colour outfit. It basically trying to reflect them as one as “new” and the other one as “old”. It has a metaphorical connection, Deepika’s outfit was chosen this colour to symbolise the new profound love and Priyanka’s outfit symbolises as an old love that got faded.
This was explained by my dance teacher to her daughter and then she shared it with me.
Its beautiful how colours can be used as a way of communicating.

The only moment where she's wearing a lighter color relatively is when bajirao dies of that fever ....

Both performed outstandingly well. But you gotta admit, while Deepika danced as herself, Priyanka danced as Kashibai... Kashibai wasn't happily dancing with her husband's lover, she was just being cordial and hospitable for the sake of the festival despite her inner turmoil. Kashi's role is more difficult to play than that of Mastani...bcz the role involves love (towards Peshwa), innocence(at the start of the film), hatred and jealousy (for Mastani), and pain. Priyanka absolutely nailed it. Her role has many variations, unlike Mastani's character, which predominantly portays love towards the Peshwa.
Had Deepika been given Kashi's character, she might not have done it as beautifully as Priyanka
(this is just my opinion... No offence at all. Deepika is a great actress!).

The makers of this movie thought they were showing a great love story.. but PC was so brilliant as kaashi that the movie became all about kaashi's strength, devotion and bajirao's betrayal. Every woman could feel her pain and I was upset with men for a while after watching this. 😆

I can't even take sides. I literally feel the pain of both of these characters. Kashibai & Mastani, both were good human beings, just the victims of fate, so was Bajirao.
So the main villain here is their fate, not them.
Please don't simply blame the fate....Yaa...really even bajirao know that he had a wife only waiting for him.....without informing her about his second relationship....he continued for long and brought her as his second wife when she became pregnant........perfect guy......bajirao didn't made any mistakes...And mastani.....she did find her love.....I will appreciate that but I didn't like the way she did.....If she needs to get him and be like a sister to kashibai....then she should first try to make understand kashi about her feelings of love for him ...to kashi....and then marry him on kashibai 's consent....
Suppose what if kashi had loved and married another person other than bajirao ....how would he react .....

I couldn't take my eyes off Priyanka 😩 not because she played "kashibai" which was a truly positive character in the movie but because she truly nailed those dance steps, she adapted that Marathi grace so well...her steps were flawless and ofc those expressions were everything 🙌

Loads and loads of expressions ; She was expressing joy, sorrow, pain, embarrassment, everything so perfectly. Honestly I did not care about Bajirao or Mastani when I watched this movie. Kashi was the only character I cared about. Bajirao and Mastani felt like cartoon characters but Kashi felt like a real person.

Mastani- Tu jane yeh duniyadari. Main toh hun mohabbat ki mari.
I love this so much. It's like they are telling each other what they are going through because of the other.
