The real villian in this movie is Peshwa himself...if despite the presence of Kashi he could marry Mastani what's the gurantee that he wouldn't marry another woman again??The so called true love that they talk about...no true love exists in case of polygamy...if Kashi would've betrayed him and married someone else people would have called her " charitraheen" and many other heinous names...but Peshwa being a man of royal blood was still regarded with the same respect... Speaking solely of the 2 female leads. Kashibhai in this movie was a strong and honorable character. She always upheld duty and never let feelings get in the way of them, which is admirable. Mastani is such a stark contrast to that, her dialogue is just random poetry and she does not hold herself accountable to the things she has caused because of her "love" for bajirao. (Which i think is just lust. You cannot just do whatever you want and pretend its honorable just because you said it's for love. That's not love that's selfish )
This movie did an amazing job portraying that, and priyanka did an amazing job building kashibhais character.
Speaking of bajirao he was an asshole and a child with the way he handled things with kashi.
I would like to think that it is more about, that, in this movie, Mastani saved Bajirao's life and he did trust her so absolutely not, that he tried to kill her. Not even an apology for this. Maybe she just was too much of a royal to say "You owe me an apology, you stupid a.......e". Maybe, according to this movie, she should have said to herself: get over this Mastani, he's not worth it. Just my inner thoughts on this one. If you quote Love: Love has many faces; and, Love makes blind. So yes, if it is for Love, as described in this movie, absolutely fine with me. So Mastani can learn, that she is so much more than the lifesaver of a man, who is not able to at least say Thank you and I am sorry. She is so much more without him. I love this theory :)
Realistic acting was done by priyanka and her marathi accent was on point the way she conveying all emotions of kashibai in her eyes hold so much impressive.

@@shersyril6495 in the movie yes. In real, the king ( Mastani's dad) gifted her hand for marriage and some parts of kingdom and gold as gratitude for their support. Bajirao accepted even though I think his family dint have multiple marraiges tradition. Mastani was never accepted by her in-laws and rest of the movie is technically true. And it is recorded that Bajirao loved his second wife more than the first one. You really feel bad for the first one in the film and even in real.

I don’t know about Bajirao, but Kashi and Mastani’s love for Baji felt true and pure. And the way they respected each other just told how strong both of them were, especially Kashi. When she had no need to respect her husband and the another woman, she still did.
I feel so good when I see everyone praising PC in the movie and acknowledging her pain than Mastani and Bajirao's love. It did seem cruel to me as well. Love doesn't hurt anyone but their love cut Kashibai off. Sad to see what woman has to go through not because of another woman but man she has loved and given her life.
Priyanka overshadow everyone in 'bajirao mastani'. Her acting levels are just next level. She is one of few actress who can act through eyes. She not only perform but also live that character of kashibai that's why it looks like more real.This performance is iconic only because of priyanka , much better than bajirao and mastani's performance.Priyanka you deserve wherever you are!!!!

I can't forget this movie because of Kashibhayi's role. Don't know whether Bhajirao really loved Masthani or it was just lust. But Priyanka's love is pure. You just can't forget the feelings she expressed through her eyes. It haunts. One more reason to watch this movie is its visuals. What a beauty india had way back. The name of the movie should have been "Kashi-Rao-Mastani". Though the movie is Bajirao and Mastani's lovestory, but the pain of Kashibai, her betrayal can be totally understood! Priyanka did justice to the role of Kashibai!

what still astonishes me about this movie is the way both of them are portrayed. Mastani looks soft and delicate and fragile and on the other hand Kashi looks fierce and strong when it should've been the opposite seeing how mastani calls herself a warrior.
