This game definitely fell under unfortunate crunch time and circumstances. It feels like they definitely wanted to make a quality experience here, you can see the vision with things like the achievement based progression system or the open world Thomas Playground. But at the end of the day, those good ideas are attached to a very bare bones feeling game with not a lot of it’s own unique flare to really hold it up. This game really does just feel like a cheaper sequel to Cars 2 the game.
Cars 3 is okay, and it's better than most licensed games. But, it desperately needed a sense of speed. It's unbelievably slow, as was Cars 2 for that matter. It felt like I was driving at 10 MPH, not >200 MPH. Why does this game sound and feel like I'm driving a golf cart? I'm driving a powerful, 900 HP racecar, so I gotta hear some crazy, demonic exhaust note while I'm speeding at a good 200 MPH. A crucial part of the thrill of a good arcade racing game is the insane sense of speed. They needed to grace this game with Burnout or Ridge Racer levels of fast. The game needed to feel like the player could lose control or crash and burn at any moment thanks to one wrong move. Otherwise, what's the point of it being a racing game? If I want to play a fun, slower-paced racing game, then that's what Mario Kart is for. If I'm playing a video game starring a full-blown racecar, then I'd better feel like I'm speeding in a full-blown racecar when I'm going at 200 MPH.
I actually had this game on Switch and I've only play it once. All I could remember was the game being pretty cheap at times and the different drift and booster panels being very cumbersome to get to grips with. I wish I had known about how bad this game really was before purchasing it!
7:02 the lack of online is even worse here. Cars 2 was suppose to have online multiplayer, but for some reason it was cut from the final release. But this game? I don't think it was even planned to begin with! 9:45 also this explains why she didn't appear back in Cars 2. I never realized that. It should've been obvious to me
I'm confused as to why this game wasn't on PC. I get that it's just a dumb party kart racer, but it would've made sense to put it on PC. Hell, even an online mode would've been fine. I know it's a "kids' game", but if Mario Kart and Sonic can do it, this can too lol.
this game is just a worse version of cars 2, arguably one of the best kart racers I've ever played unless you really like the side modes like my aunt, you're not in for a good experience if there's less characters, and a slower pace
There is one thing that I think is a bit better in this game then Cars 3 the movie. That is Cruz voice and character in the game is much better then her voice and portrayal in the Movie. I loathed her so much in the movie. In fact, I feel like alot of characters were done dirty in the Movie, Lightning never said his catchphrase, never beat Jackson Storm, Sally and Mater didn't get enough of the spotlight, Natalie was a Total B!*$& in the movie Simping for Storm and being mean to Poor Lightning. I mean yes the next gen's are faster, But Number don't matter it's about the feel and experience on the track. The Story also in Cars 3 movie was not very good in my opinion, It should've been a more like, Chick hicks teaming up with Storm. Because Chick is fed up of lightning always winning. I could go on, But that will have to be said for another time.
I'm not ganna lie, but I won't ever like the cars 3. I mean you don't really want to see Mcqueen retire and the radiator springs cast isn't even in the movie
guess you could say that Cars 3: Driven to Win *drove* you insane haha
Cars 3: Driven (to win) you insane.

That's because you aren't, cars in this game top at ~180 with boost and much slower without

Its kinda crazy to think Avalanche Software went from making Cars video games, to making an amazing open world Harry Potter game, aka Hogwarts Legacy.
