    Yes, I am SO happy that StoryGraph has content warnings! I am still too used to Goodreads to make the full switch to StoryGraph, BUT I never start reading a book now without checking the content warnings for it on StoryGraph. I've avoided reading several books that would upset me this way, which is a great way of not wasting my time!

    Hi Dylan, when selecting the ‘stats’ tab, you can select the time period. It is such a great function to track and compare different years or months of reading

    I am signed up for Storygraph. I like the different stats storygraph put together at the end of each month and year.

    I’m not sure how it looks on the website because I only use the app but if you go to reading preferences there is a beta feature right now that lets you select content warnings you want to avoid. So if you have tiggers for things like suicide, terminal illness, racism, or drug abuse (as random examples) then you won’t get suggestions for those and if you look up a book that has those in them then you’ll get a little icon that pops up by the title to let you know to check the content warnings. This is probably my favorite thing on storygraph to be honest.

      The problem I had with that is if you tag it (set up the metatext) you'll bypass any mention of those topics regardless of the context. Not only would that block a lot of non-fiction analyzing current events, it would also throw out a lot a literary works. Romeo & Juliet is "about" suicide, but it's not promoting it.

      @@kell_checks_inIt says on the roadmap that on the v2 of this feature we would be able to select the degree in which it will start warning and blocking this warning.
      Example: I put to warn me about suicide starting on moderate, so they filter out moderate and graphic mentions but minor ones will still show up.
      Not sure when this feature is going to be available though, because there is only one dev on the team (the owner herself) but it is coming.

    I just spent a few hours entering my library (370 continually churning volumes) into the thing, but it's already paying off. I'm already rediscovering stuff I bought and forgot I had. I also like that I'll have a record of past books read even if I declutter that particular item. I'm going to research a bit on how to get readalongs going. I would like to connect with people on the site, or use the site to reinforce connections with people IRL. I wish the content warnings were more inclusive, i.e. an "Anti-Christian" tag. They have "anti-Muslim" and "antisemitic," but that's certainly not enough. A tag for stories denigrating the family (ridiculing the raising of children, promoting group "marriage" or adultery or raising children in government institutions rather than with parents -- Soviet/B. F. Skinner stuff) would be welcome, too.

    I have a question off topic. When buying books off Amazon I noticed you get points toward a Kindle book. The more points you get the more money you will get to buy a Kindle book. My question is how do I use those points when ordering a Kindle book?

    • @dylancanread
      @dylancanread  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! There is a page (www.amazon.com/kindlerewards) where you can redeem the points your earn. Once you earn 300 points, you can redeem your points for a $3 credit! The $3 will automatically be taken off when you purchase a kindle book.

      @@dylancanread Thanks I have more than 300 points so I’m ready to go shopping!
