Nature on PBS Why would the narrator claim the necessary loss of pups for Blackspot to produce milk? Dogs and human females tend to synchronize their estrus cycles when living together and both display pseudo pregnancy. False pregnancy, or pseudopregnancy, is a term used to denote a common condition in a non-pregnant female dog that is showing symptoms of pregnancy, *_lactation,_* or nursing, without producing puppies. The affected female dog shows these symptoms about a month or two after her estrus (heat) is over. A hormonal imbalance is thought to play a central role in affected female dogs. The condition may last for more than a month and sometimes it's necessary to provide a wide collar to prevent the dog from self nursing. Is there any reason to believe wolves exempt from this condition?

Older sisters in a wolf pack will also nurse and look after their mothers younger pups. It's not as exceedingly rare as the narrator makes out. Packs will do anything to protect their pups, after all. For all we know, Blackspot could be Snow White's adult daughter.
Good wolves!💗🐺💗I love the puppies! It's really no wonder that wolves and humans found their way to each other. So many of the behaviors are similar; gregarious by nature, we both need others to thrive. We work/hunt collectively for the betterment of all. The tender, loving care given to the young is also significantly similar. I hope humanity comes to love and respect this species, which has given us so much! I wonder if mankind would have survived without the wolf, which we turned into our most loyal companion...the domestic dog! 💗🐺💗🐕💗
Katherine Uribe When I watch "nature" videos, your type of comment are always my favorite. Idiots who see "love" and "care" and "tenderness" etc in wild nature - are the funniest idiots in the known universe! They tell you in the video it's THE FIRST TIME this kind of behavior is filmed. You know why? Because usually the non-biological "mom" would view these pups as food. Animals kill and eat each other. Food chain is nature. Nature is food chain.
dmitriy40 wolf packs work together to raise pups. The survival of their pack depends on the survival of the pups. Whats really hilarious is how confident you are in yourself.
C DeVine Again, what you see on the video is being touted as first ever recorded behavior. What is previously well known is that wolves can engage in cannibalism. This behavior is often observed against members of other packs, but they are known to occasionally eat each other within the pack. I am not an expert on wolves. But a quick google search provides support for my statements, seemingly from reputable sources. If I am mistaken on the very narrow subject of wolves eating their young - I GENUINELY DO NOT CARE. My other, more general argument about food chains OF COURSE STILL STANDS. I am supremely confident that food chains exist. This is a fact. Anyone denying that, is obviously an idiot. MOST ANIMALS IN THE WILD DIE A VERY VIOLENT DEATH - BEING EATEN BY ANOTHER ANIMAL. The cutest tiny baby deer (many, many baby deer) will be torn apart by the sharp teeth of the very wolf that the idiot above thinks an example of tender love, peace, friendships, etc. This cutest tiny baby deer will be devoured while her mother deer runs away for her life. That is nature. Looking at nature for examples of love, tenderness, friendship, devotion, peace and cooperation is IDIOTIC. Animals eat each other, all day every day.
dmitriy40 you must care a little bit seeing as you wrote me a damn essay. The animal kingdom is brutal. Most people grew up watching animal documentaries where lions rip up baby gazelles, it's no big surprise. Animals can also be very social creatures. Pack animals will engage in bonding activities such as grooming and play. They greet each other with affection and respect. They get bored, angry, and frustrated. It's only in recent years that researchers have began to explore the complexities of animal emotions. Doesn't mean they can't be brutal. African Wild dogs have extremely tight knit, social packs. They also are brutal hunters. They basically eat their prey alive.

We watched this show on tv, and I still can't get over how cool it was that Black Spot dived down the den hole before the mad wolf, in order to save pups who were not her own. I also that it was So cool that on of Snow White's offspring had a black spot too. And Snow White and Black Spot are NOT a lesbian couple. Snow White has her own mate named Alpha, and Black Spot is related to Snow White.
Davianne LaBelle At least someone in the comments knows this as a pack behavior, not a question of sexuality. Like early humans, the females of the group will help in rearing the young as shown in this clip. It’s for the betterment of the group, not a show of “gay in nature is natural”. I love wolves, they are my favorite animals and I have given them respect in my writings. I came to watch this clip, but read the idiocy in the comments of lesbian wolves. To each their own, I suppose.
Branden Atkins I'm quite sure most of the comments about them being lesbians are meant to be humorous/cute. Homosexual behaviour is completely natural and has been observed in hundreds of different species.
Sonja Pelkonen I do know it is suppose to be humorous/cute, but there are those who take this to the extreme. I understand that it has been observed before, it doesn’t actually mean that much if it’s one in a billion. Besides, this is common pack behavior to help raise the young and bonds aren’t always romantic between members. I just get annoyed at the idiocy while I try to find fellow wolf enthusiasts in the comments.
+Davianne LaBelle Someone who is knowlegable about wolves wrote that the attacker was the former alpha female, their mother. They didn't attack her ferociously like a stranger. Even if they did protect the pups.

*PACK STORY* The other female (One who isn't the real mother, BlackSpot) Died from starvation. She didn't leave the den AT ALL and the food was scarce. The pack went out hunting leaving the alpha (SnowWhite) the real mother. And BlackSpot alone, BlackSpot became very ill from lack of food and died. Then SnowWhite took her 4 week old pups to the best hunting grounds in the territory. Then she met some packmemebers their (since they found her) she then met the rest of her pack (sadly one stubborn member crossed into unknown grounds and were murdered by a different pack.) Then SnowWhites mate (Alfa) found her and all went well. *This is true. This all happened to their still growing pack.*
justin portillo - They meant that Snow White relocated her pups to a new den site in a more prosperous area of the territory, not that she took them hunting. Food was extremely scarce and Black Spot had starved in the den, blocking the entrance. The rest of the pack had left in search of food and would not be back for awhile. Normally she wouldn't have moved them for another month, but they would likely have starved if they'd stayed, so she took a risk. All three survived the trip, though it was slow going as the pups couldn't travel far. She met some other members of the pack part way, enabling her to leave the pups with them and make frequent hunting trips in a very prey-rich part of the territory to bring back food. One of the pack members was found alone too close to Raider territory and was chased down and killed by three members. Alpha found the rest of the pack, and the narrator pointed out a familiar-looking black spot at the base of a pup's tail after they'd grown a bit. It ended off there. You can watch it here: www.dailymotion.com/video/x64d4sg
That isnt true. Blackspot doesnt necessarily need a pup to feed Snow white's pups. Its called sympathy pregnancy. If a creature (wolf here) has a strong bond with a young one then she will automatically produce milk for the pups even if they arent hers. Let me just say....WOLVES ARE AMAZING AND MAJESTIC AND TRULY BEAUTIFUL CREATURES
I saw the original documentary. I think black spot is a sister to snow white, and she left to start her own family. Black spot's attempt failed and she returned. In the documentary, she ended up wasting away giving all of her energy to save these pups, and died; she even used her body to protect the den entrance when it was attacked.

Nik there's a difference between anime and hentai, I think he was simply referring to girl love or yuri as a common term it doesn't have to be sexual it just needs to be adorable !
I came upon this video as I currently have a 3 week-old puppy that was delivered to my care after her mother died, and came upon an utterly bizarre sight: my Pitbull-Staffie cross, 5 year-old dog was nursing the puppy, as if it was her own puppy. The puppy seemed utterly contented, and has become stronger every day, I had no idea such a thing was possible. My old girl hasn't had puppies of her own in 3 years. Some Googling led me to the revelation that wolves do this all the time, as only the Alpha is allowed to have pups, but still has to lead hunts, and therefore the other bitches nurse the litter.
Black Spot and Snow White are probably sisters. The pups don't have "two mothers"; they have a mother, a father, and an aunt who provides alloparental care. Snow White's mate, the pups' father, probably welcomes help from this sister the way he would welcome help from his own offspring who remain in the pack.
It's too much. The management of wildlife just equates to humans living comfortably while we cull wolf pups. And we call it "humane". And there's nothing I can do. Other than literally killing myself to make it all go away.

Omg there are a Lot of arguments about the 2 mom's being gay, one just babysitting or just saying they aren't gay, all I wanted to do was look at wolves and the pups ○~○
EDIT: okay this comment was litteraly 3 years ago and it was just me saying that I only wanted to see how 2 female wolves raised a pup, because back then I didn't get it and I was fascinated by wolves (they're my spirit animal) and how they had different lifestyles. I hardly knew anything about them back then but now I have some knowledge of them And i didn't say that they were lesbians, I was saying what some of the comments were writing. Also I did NOT know what a furry was back then so please no rude comments to anyone. and perhaps take a break from the comment section and watch the video
I feel ya
Furries, man. They're all furries bringing their deviant fetishes into everything.
willow love's Gamez&Art bruh animals can’t be gay, this is coming from a bisexual guy

Furries are always the ones watching random wildlife videos and making everything about baby animals shitting in diapers. They need to be hunted down and shot.
*lesbian
good show and thank you.
Sweet moms and babies❤️❤️
İ always called mom(s) magical, thats what i meant. Every mom knows the meaning of their child: human or animal.
*whisper* Not all moms.
Mine’s less magical and more of a curse.
But I get what u mean 😂

It gives me hope💜
*PACK STORY*
The other female (One who isn't the real mother, BlackSpot) Died from starvation.
This all happened to their still growing pack.*
lmao, yes they do. mainly to teach them and to watch over them.
oh okay, that makes sense. i'm a dummy now lol
justin portillo - They meant that Snow White relocated her pups to a new den site in a more prosperous area of the territory, not that she took them hunting.

Excellent video, beautiful filming I love!
I hope you have a nice week
Awww their so arorable!
Aww, i love this, its also so emotional thinking of what might have happend to blackspots pups and mate, but to be honest i would do the same
This is beautiful
THE CHUBBY PAWS AND FACE!!!🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
That isnt true. Blackspot doesnt necessarily need a pup to feed Snow white's pups. Its called sympathy pregnancy. If a creature (wolf here) has a strong bond with a young one then she will automatically produce milk for the pups even if they arent hers. Let me just say....WOLVES ARE AMAZING AND MAJESTIC AND TRULY BEAUTIFUL CREATURES
And I cried 😢
Snow White and the 7 pups sounds like a good movie about wolves.
She looked so a peace while nursing...
now this is the content i wanna see
Keep the faith and do not be discouraged! Wed Dec 9, 2020
Those pups are going to be really big wolves 😂
I saw the original documentary. I think black spot is a sister to snow white, and she left to start her own family. Black spot's attempt failed and she returned. In the documentary, she ended up wasting away giving all of her energy to save these pups, and died; she even used her body to protect the den entrance when it was attacked.
Bonjour quoi de plus jolie qu’un Maman Loups avec ces petits. Il faut absolument arrêter de les chasser, les Loups font partie de la planète il y ont leurs place, longue vie à tous les Animaux. Amitiés 🐕 💗 🐕
PUPPPPIESSSS WOLVESSSS CUTEE

*_these wolves have been approved by the lesbian council_*
These wolves are actually sisters 🤓👍!
@@skeletonlvl7018 So...
Sweet home ALABAMA?!
@@shauryakumar1423 Yup 👍
You guys are weirdos. They’re just taking care of the pups. Wolves have extended families and live in packs.

My favorite animal ❤
I love 🐺 wolfs
Amazing
I love you wolves!
This is so cute
I’ve heard that sometimes a wolf will kill another wolfs puppies in order for their own puppies to get more attention and thusly survive.
Y'all don't reader the comments- just don't do it. Have a good day!
Lov you wolfes
Soooooo cuteeee ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Where are the pups and where is her mate
Me : Dead no big surprise
Ive breastfed both of my sons.. I couldn’t imagine letting another woman breastfed my children.. how unique that these mothers can 💕
My dogs always do that feed each other without giving birth
What would you if you were raised by a wolf pack?
Lesbian wolves...this needs to be an anime...
dont mind Nik. he hates when anyone makes jokes and is a nasty, sad homophobe with nothing better to do than argue with ppl who are just having fun.
Yuri
Nik somebody seems a bit sensitive
Nik i just see two girls holding hands jesus.
Nik there's a difference between anime and hentai, I think he was simply referring to girl love or yuri as a common term it doesn't have to be sexual it just needs to be adorable !
My dream job is to work with wolves hands on
harold...
the pups are *thriving*
When the wolf yawnd I yawnd 😂
Even wolves can have lovely behaviour even if wolves are commonly seen as aggressive large wild dogs😊.
even the animal kingdom has the need of wet nurses
They seem so sad😞
I can't deal with this.
It's too much. The management of wildlife just equates to humans living comfortably while we cull wolf pups.
And we call it "humane".
And there's nothing I can do.
Other than literally killing myself to make it all go away.
ASSISTIR VÍDEO DE ANIMAIS É MELHOR QUE ASSISTIR VÍDEO DE GENT!!!
