Now that's the most famous of all sounds of a Rickenbacker 12 string. I absolutely love to hear that and "Turn, Turn, Turn". I wish I could afford to buy a Rickenbacker 12 string. I play an Ibanez Strat copy. Cheers from eastern TN
I am a longtime RIC player. Cool trick to get the RIC 330 a little more in tune.. on the wound G, D, A, and E strings ... tune the lighter string (octave up ones) to pitch.. on the lower wound strings, tune them just a touch flat, if you tune them to pitch, they will play SHARP...like the low E on the third fret for the G note etc..... and when you play the A string on the 3rd fret (C note) it'll sound more in tune :) the plain strings can be all tuned to pitch...
When Roger McGuinn recorded this song he was the only Byrd that played guitar on the record. His guitar was played thru a small Epiphone tube amp and then heavily compressed thru tube compressors in the studio.
I liked it. McGuinn usually plays with a pick and two banjo metal finger-picks. You got really close to that sound with just a pick. Nice guitar, we're all jealous!
Thanks for sharing the chord progression and filler notes, AND the history of the song! I believe that this song ushered in the psychedelic rock era. It was lucky that McGuinn copied off of a low quality Dylan demo and the Byrds made their own version, released only 2 months after Dylan's folk version. I even think that Mamas and Papas "California Dreamin" (released 6 months latter) was inspired by the Byrds version of Tambourine Man. The Crosby-McGuinn-Clark harmonies were an influence to other bands after this song came out, even the Beatles adopted a psychedelic sound.
Suca beautiful song...Such a beautiful guitar. I've got the 3 pickup model . Black. I've always admired the sound it produces. Never tried to play this song. I'll check YT I'm certain Someone shows how.
I wish I had a janglebox! I ran my 330 directly to my amplifier and messed with the settings but all EQs are at noon and I used the blender knob on the 330 to get the tone
I find it funny all Rick players keep the sticker on the pickguard. It's the same people who keep the name brand on the sleave of their overcoat they are supposed to remove. Yet want people to know what they can buy.

bet you rock that Iba-strat tho
Nice..
Rock on with The Byrds..
Thank you!
Good job there! Nothing's better than the sound of a Rickenbacker 12 string
Thank you! I agree!!
Yup, but only when, and IF they are tuned poroperly!!! Man, TUNE the Bass E ???
Don't agree. My Hagström DLX12 can do the same job and stays in tune far better.
Love this so much, I play it over and over!
Mr. Tamourin Man, muy favourite song, great job, thanks avante...bye
Thanks . . . playing it on that beautiful Rickenbacker adds to it!.

Cool 😎 I’m gonna try that
100 percent accurate 🤯
Probably the greatest lead guitar number and the cover brilliantly performed.
Thank you very much! And yes, I agree!

Well That’s It !
Gotta burn my records now !
Only on this song. The rest of the album has all the Byrds.
A masterpiece rendition of arguably the most significant number in the history of popular music.
I agree!
Very arguably. But a masterpiece to be sure.
Hello My Friend !! You Work Very well dont give up :D !!!!!!!!
Beautiful Jessie. ❤

Eternal groovy riffs. : )
Thank you for sharing! Absolutely beautiful and on a Rickenbacker no less! God bless everyone
Awesome sound; nothing like the chime of a Ric! And the VOX is a great amp to play it through!
I whole heartedly agree! 🎶

So melodic! 🎶
Very very good Mr i like guitare 330\12 rickenbacker 330\12

Thank you!! I tried the banjo picks, I'm not very coordinated with them haha, I'm still practicing with them, eventually I'll get it!
McGuinn didn't use fingerpicks early on. Mr Tambourine Man would have been recorded with a flat pick and his natural nails.
@@jgraham140 Gotcha, I guess I'll try with my own nails then!
Gorgeous guitar!
Thank you!
Nice Sound, good playing. And what a way of recording it with your phones microphone. : )
Thank you! Since then I've moved on to a proper microphone set up for all of the other covers on my channel!
Esta é a guitarra dos anjos !!!!!!!
Well done man !!! Dig it
Thank ya!

Real Good Job Buddy.
Nicely done!
Thank you very much!
Nice to see you're using a Vox. Perfect
Suca beautiful song...Such a beautiful guitar.

Never tried to play this song.
I'll check YT I'm certain
Someone shows how.
I would love to own the 3 pickup model one day!
I started saving up for a Rickenbacker 12-string when I was 26; I'm 72 now and almost have enough money for one.
It's the perfect time to get one since they have 21-frets again!
@@jesseortiz9007 21 frets won't matter when I'm "6 frets" underground.
Thanks for the reply, and best wishes to you.
Is a Rickenbacker really that expensive 😅 not an insult btw
@@Hanz13171A Rickenbacker requires a long time to be delivered, and they are not inexpensive.
awesome bro! don't apologise...
In your Daw you can tune the playback right to 440 Hz. Try +/- 0.25 semitones
You have it down
Any chance you could add the notes you are playing for the intro? great job
Great stuff! Are you using a JangleBox?
I wish I had a janglebox! I ran my 330 directly to my amplifier and messed with the settings but all EQs are at noon and I used the blender knob on the 330 to get the tone

It's a Rickenbacker owners thing, a lot of people don't really understand ;)
. . . which itself is a cover.
Would sound better without the sticker on the pickguard. 😅
Check out my stickerless cover of “Turn Turn Turn” on my channel ;)
your G string is flat.
Yes, it is. This was many many months ago. Since then, I've never let it become flat
out of tune guitar
thank you
out of tune
It is out of tune. I plan to rerelease this cover since I had recently purchased the Rickenbacker at the time of this recording.
