I bought a 2021 MT07 in the grey with orange rims. I love the bike, just disappointed with the mod selection options at the moment. But looking past that, the bike is amazing, it has so much torque, like absurd amounts of it. Plenty of power and is nimble as all hell. The only mod I recommend out the gate is some sort of a wind screen, it will help a ton on highway riding. For those who are thinking about getting one....do. And it's funny I have the bike, but still enjoy watching review videos of it.
Totally agree with your points, I think the review could have emphasised the torque produced between 4-7 thousand revs, definitely this engines sweet spot, its amazing how easy it drives out of corners, and rolling on in top gear is so impressive. An engine for the real world.
Just bought a 2021 in the tech black and added in the Akrapovic titanium exhaust. It will not be at the dealer until middle of next month but I found quite a few mods already from Motostarz. Fender eliminator, Ermax seat cowl and belly pan, TST industries led integrated tail light. Not sure what you are looking for but many of the 2020 items still fit.
I've been watching many reviews of Z900, Sv650, Mt09, & Mt07. Been wondering if the Mt07 has enough power, while knowing that the Mt09 might get this senior citizen a ride in an ambulance. Yours is the first review that has communicated the acceleration ability of the Mt07. ''The front wheel lightly dancing above the tarmac'', was what I needed to hear. Thanks for your vivid descriptions. I don't give a rats' ass about ride modes and lfts
it has the torque! such a fun bike to ride, but also, very practical. So glad I went for the MT (whilst I was looking at the Sv650 and Z650). The wheel gets light in 1st or 2nd gear with ease..!
Very thorough review, good to see you giving it some welly. It annoys me that all the reviews of this bike talk about it as a first bike, I come from an era when a 1st bike was an FS1E or an SS50 this bike has superbike performance and seemed to have you grinning from ear to ear. Would you buy this as a first bike for your seventeen year old! I think this is the future of motorcycling, light and chuckable, ample power but not silly pub talk numbers, good usable torque curve, good reasuring handling and brakes, no electronic baulics and easily manouverable. It has taken long enough for the industry to produce something like this and the customers are buying it in droves, seems even the kids are loving it all over the world.
@@EddieSetGo cheers mate actually paid for a MT 07 2022 today. Had a tail tidy fitted and the bike for £6800 in total in Icon Blue. Need to pass my theory, mod 1 and mod 2 now. A mature biker at 55.......safe riding.
i live in the USA...Southern Ohio.... put a 500.xx down payment on a MT-07 April 15th 2022....Dealer said it MIGHT be in by July or August.....i see now i should of ordered it last January....buying the Blue one....it is AWESOME..!!!
Weird question but can you do a reveiw of this alpinestars jacket your wearing please as im interested in buying one but want to know how it handles on a bike and how warm it is with liner in and out plus how waterproof is it?? Etc. How easy is it to take the liner out? Have you upgraded the armour in it and added a back protector? Thanks for your time on this Jase
I'm very happy with my MT07. I'm a very experienced rider. This was the right choice for me. Not too powerful for everyday riding and powerful enough for over taking and just plain fun.
@@joecamel6835 Not at all. I've owned much more powerful bikes. This is so much more practical in everyday riding on everyday normal roads. At 70 hp and 50lbs. of torque it is perfect. I owned a street triple and it was 110hp and 50lbs of torque but I wouldn't put it up until I got it over triple digits. That hooligan is in that right wrist.
Enjoyed the review Eddie, it seems a hoot to ride & you cover all the important point as usual. The seat comfort is important, as the bum-achingly awful plank on my SV650 was one of the reasons I got rid of it. I need to check out the seat peg height though, so thanks for the heads up. 👍
Thanks so much, Hugh! Yes... seat comfort is important... especially on bikes where you're sitting upright. Did a long ride on my 09 yesterday and the sporty seat was a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours!
Nice bike good review I like the MT07 luv the color but not sure about the headlight I guess it would grow on me eventually look forward to your next review : )
Current owner of Yamaha MT-125 (2015) looking to soon upgrade to MT-07. Much appreciated for taking the time to review. Any chance of also reviewing 2021 Tracer 7/9 GT in the future.
Enjoying your reviews. As an MT-09 owner, how about a video comparing your MT-09 to this MT-07? I am considering both bikes, but leaning more towards the MT-09. It's a bit more expensive, but seems to have WAY more features and performance for that small price difference. People rave about the CP2 engine, but having ridden the Tenere 700 and the XSR900, the CP3 triple just blows away the twin in every aspect. Would you agree?
Thank you for your review. I ride a 2007 Kawasaki ER6F. I've been thinking of trading for the 2021 MT-07, but I can't get a test ride here in my country so I'm leery of making the move. The ER6F has been great to me with no problems except fairing buzz, and is a wonder on the highway.
I enjoy your reviews. Very relaxed and easy listening. I had a 2017 FZ-07 for 2 winters on Hawaii's Big Island. My favorite ride and too much fun. That CP2 engine will be legendary. It's all the bike anyone of reasonable height and weight needs for any street use. I would get another one in a heartbeat if they were USA available. Simple 2021 upgrades look awesome! I wish they would do a MT-07 SP, but why is it really needed? Your ADV Helmet is very cool! What model is that? Cheers!
The CP2 engine is a gem
What a great review, not just about the bike, but how you delivered it. I think I'll subscribe.
I purchased a '21 MT07 this week. So good!

It's super nimble. I was suprised just how easy it was to move into spaces, swing over in corners and do U-turns. I'm glad you like the video :)
Great review, was thinking about changing my T700 World Raid for an MT-09 or Ducati Monster 937 but you've got me thinking about the MT-07!

Agree with you, sounds like a bike with everything you need (including character in that CP2) and nothing you don't!

The cyan version on their website looks very cyberpunk
So should I buy a 2020 or newer design 2021. Dont like that front light, very deceiving to read for the average automobile driver
Dude, very well thought-out review. Appreciate the perspective and comparisons. Good luck and hope your channel explodes!
Much appriciated! :)

Hi Eddie, new rider here. Why should I go for this over the 09?
The 07 engine is all you will ever need I’ve had both and I prefer the 700

What's with the David Bellamy impersonation??

I loved this review.
I'm lost between the 2021 Mt07 and the 2021 SV650. I don't know which one to choose.
I heard they steal more the Mt bikes so...
Tough choice! :) Get a big chain lock for whichever bike you go for. I have an Abus Granite Chain lock which gives me peace of mind!

Thanks for replying.
Are you planning any test ride on the sv650 any soon?

All right. We will be here for the support 👊

My fav 💕
I admire how you comfortably ride in the wet. I go much slower.
Thank you! Just practice I guess and it rains a lot here in the UK.
Jeez I wish they would legalize lane filtering in the United States.🙄
Yeah for sure buddy, it makes commuting so much more fun!

Good review but please stop flailing your hands about all the time.Keep your hands on the bars.
Can I just say stop with the hand movements when talking its annoying
