Can someone explain why South Africans accept 20-year-old vehicles (Polo 'Vivo'), with wind up windows, little stalks to adjust the mirrors, etc. And are willing to pay such high prices for what is essentially a secondhand car? Crazy.
Primarily because the alternatives are not much better excluding the Suzuki offerings of course

Great show as always, for the furst question, just get the Swift Sport, either the current one or the one with the NA motor, everybody wants or has a Polo, get a Swift Sport, cheaper to run, cheaper insurance and cheaper to buy used. For the second question, get a Ciaz, you can get one brand new for the budget or fully loaded used. For the third question, the Mahindra is a good option, but he should also look at the H6 with AWD or a Pajero Sport used. For the fourth question, get a fully loaded Haval H6 or Chery Tigo 8 pro and use the change and get a fully loaded Chery Tigo 4 pro, all of those cars have luxury appointments and can fit the budget, you cant get two new luxury cars on that budget.

Has anyone noticed that white Hyundai I20s have a problem of the paint peeling off? I have seen a few on the road with this problem, I don't know if Hyundai has a quality control issue wherever they manufacture them.

Would be great if the advice was not only car advise but also financial advice to these first time buyer's that doesn't have fathers that teach them to work with money. Buying you first car for R300k when you earn R25k per month or something is crazy. They don't know how many other expenses they will have. It just sets them up for a life of being in constant debt. Never getting out of it.
It's like the gang has been told to stop telling people about cars that are high theft risks. 🚮

they never want to hear anything about polo..and a lot of us are driving them and guess what we never had any issue with theft yet on the streets random cars are being stolen, its no longer about high risk car or not its more of where are you driving it at what time etc
I wouldn't touch those VWs... happy to leave them to other people
