Bought a 2014 Escape to replace my 2004 GT Nomad. What a difference. Lighter, faster, very versitle gearing. Still very happy with it, but have had a couple of glitches. The stock tires wore through in under 1000 miles, with cord showing along the center line. When a nipple head broke we discovered a number of micro cracks on the rim at several spoke holes! The wheel is now back @ Giant under warrantee, hopefully to be replaced by something stronger.
I didnt know that thanks for telling me that :) Ill probably change the wheels as well when I want to go faster but that will probably come later on for now Im just really want to make it into a cyclocross
you get used to the saddle, as you need to train the musckes u sit on. after a couple of tides and a good pair of cycle pants shouldnt be such an issue. do not be put off by the sleek look of the saddle. i am also considering changing tyres as want faster bike
That crappy saddle is specifically designed for female riders? Neither my wife nor my daughter consider it acceptable, even remotely usable, and they're both thin people. By the time we add the cost of a decent seat and a kickstand to the Alight 3, it's a lot less competitive with similar bikes. Considering the target audience, this is a serious flaw.

All he had to do was take the bike to get air and be on his way. My friend did not have any major problems putting this bike together; small issue was putting one of the brakes on straight; however when the son got home he was able to fix it. The bike rides well gears move correctly; good bike for the price. Wrote review after the son took the bike. Sorry.
I have a Giant Roam 2W from 2011 which looks pretty similar to the Alight and I love it!

i got giant escape 3 with the back derailleur broken. how i can choose the proper replacement derailleur? Help me out.
I just bought the giant 2 I have a few question, could I changed the wheels to some more like a road bike type wheel? and also the handle bar?
Wheels, I believe so. Handle bars? The braking system will have to change along with it is what I heard. I own the Giant escape 2.

giant escape 1 or trek fx 7.3? I will be using it for fitness purposes, maybe 10-20 mile rides
