This is amazing. I have just bought a 1973 T2 for my 30th! It's been the biggest adventure and I haven't even slept in her yet 😂 she's in a garage now whilst I prepare to move into her with my 2 house bunnies over winter 😅 I have been told I am a bit mad but I've never been more excited in my life
I really enjoyed your video. You put a lot of work into the camper and the filming/editing. I'm working on my 1971 Typ2 and sometimes I look for inspiration to get me through some of the more mundane jobs. It can be a lonely journey working on a bus for months, but nearly everyone gets joy out of seeing one drive by or being invited in for a drink.
In the mid 70s I had a 69 bus. it was kind of fun to drive like a really tall go cart only slower. Half of it was gone due to rust and it was on it's second motor... the brakes kind of works as long as you didn't really need to stop. It had a top speed of about 56 back when the speed limit was 70mpg everywhere. I later learned that the Germans tried to put my grandparents into an oven... since than I have a hatred for over priced over rated german cars... but I do have fond memeories of my old slow rusty bus.
Fantastic build! The new sink pump and extra counter space are huge practical upgrades. The solar/battery system is the perfect modern touch to your classic, simple camper. Your parents are definitely going to steal Frog back from your driveway once you get that passenger seat swiveling. You’ll be relegated to the loft bed once again.
I really enjoy the process from the first second of your video until it last, most of the times camper only took a shoot on how the camping journey, you build it and remodeling the van from the scratch. Seeing your parents eyes, I know there much fun stuff and hapiness they're shared each other in the journey you bring it back the joy for them, really love the way you do. Sorry my english is bad.
What a great watch.... I've had VW campers for over 35 years and still get excited camping in one.... I love the stories to be told and the wonderful people you meet..... Loved hearing your parents memories and seeing yours.... Thanks for sharing 🙏
I never comment, but loved the refurbishment and the story. I'm a fellow Vermonter, also with a 78 Sage green Westfalia--maybe I'll see you on the road. Enjoy!
Reed, you really have made a lot for yourself and its always cool to have it shared with others on here. Great big love for sharing local music on your platform as well, hope your pals are digging the exposure.
Inspiring video. Gives me some inspiration on my vanagon build. I've been afraid to drill holes in it and "depreciating" it until now. But it's a van and meant to be used and the more creative the better. After seeing you do this its inspired me. Awesome and engaging video.
Nice film and interesting to see how it developed to solar, your parents seem real nice folk. I'm about to buy my first bus and looking forward to tinker sundays!
FYI, that huge hole you drilled at the bottom of the van / floor of the van, you might want to add a "water strainer" to fit the opening so small animals can's sneak into the van. i.e. mice. Just a suggestion.
I have a 1991 587 GT sea doo and no one has a steering cable for it! I need help finding one or else I'm gonna have to part it out over a freaking steering cable. Any ideas?
all these holes and screws through the floor and wheel case just in the roadspray will ruat as h.... not the wisest decision - can kill your rather fine bus in a jifffy.

Your songs are beautiful ❤
Such an majestic beast that van is! An absolute dream to do a build such as this!
Hey thanks Lilly! Now if only I had a fridge so I could freeze an apple…

Sahweeeet! Old vans are always an adventure, whether you want it or not. Hope she brings you to some cool places!
Those ol vans will always hold a special place in my heart. It's pretty amazing how rust free it is! Safe travels!✌️from Ohio
They certainly have some personality. Doing what I can to keep the rust at bay!

I can certainly empathize with the loneliness aspect of working on an old vehicle. It's a never-ending project, but every small step is rewarding!
Not just a build but an awesome story… so well captured and another great journey and memories… well done!!
Many thanks! Frög has been around for sure.
Oregon VW Vans are the best ...
That sure seems to be the case!
It’s cool how they had a picture of the two dudes that fixed frog. 🐸
Agreed! They look exactly like two dudes who would work on VW buses.

Thanks Spenser! I appreciate your heavy use of keywords. As soon as that passenger seat is swiveling, I'm taking us boys out for a joyride.
Fantastic video mate, great to hear the stories from your folks.. Priceless memories..
Thanks for watching! It was nostalgic to hear their stories, and I wasn't even around during that era!
What an awesome video! Thanks to your parents for their gift of Frog, for you to make new memories in. Maybe we'll see you and Frog on the road?
Endlessly grateful to have some cool ex-hippie parents.

Thanks for the kind words!
This is such a great YT video, a great bus enjoyed by mum & Dad and now the children. Fantastic.
Glad you think so! It's certainly a special vehicle.

They are certainly ripe with nostalgia! Thanks for watching!

I'll keep an eye out for another green bus! Glad you enjoyed, telling this story scratched my nostalgia itch.
What a cool video, I like your parents
They're pretty dang great if I do say so myself.
AWESOME video and story!
@@craigvwdude Many thanks!
Wow! Amazing job and a lovely bus and story. Your parents are totally adorable 😊 Thanks for sharing your work and story.
They're a couple of good folks for sure
Many blessing and wide open roads for your family and Fraüg 😂
Thanks! He's seen a lot of roads, but still has some miles left in him yet!
for the water pump being loud you can try making a little insulated half box around it maybe
I considered that, it doesn't bother me too much fortunately.

Sharing music is a crucial part of the human experience, and I'm proud to have a talented musician as a friend!

Hey thanks! That's always been my perspective on possessions: they're meant to be used! Glad I could provide a little inspiration.
Aw man, I just love this so much.
Nice job. Simple and functional. ❤ THE family story. Witch you well and safe travels while making your own memories.
Thanks for hanging around for the full video!

Holy shit a new reed video! Missed you man gonna watch this in one hit
It has been a while for sure! This one was quite the undertaking.
Very cool vid, really enjoy the vibe and the tunes!
This one deserves a million views👍🏻
Much appreciated. It was a long build and an even longer editing process, so thanks for the support!
I'm in love with Vw... Awesome VIDEO
This was truly amazing to watch. Thank you!
Right on, I appreciate the kind words!
Nice film and interesting to see how it developed to solar, your parents seem real nice folk. I'm about to buy my first bus and looking forward to tinker sundays!
Very cool! Should make for a lifetime of tinkering

Not a bad idea, there's always something to improve!
Love it!!!
Thanks Zach!
Really nice video!
Many thanks! It was an undertaking, but felt good to make.
I love it Brother keep Driving
Thanks man!
Nice job, but I am waiting for more jetski stuff, with your sense of humor. As you see, people love it more than the other your builds.
Sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, but the jet ski content has come and gone.
I have a 1991 587 GT sea doo and no one has a steering cable for it! I need help finding one or else I'm gonna have to part it out over a freaking steering cable. Any ideas?
You can only discharge and use 80% of a lithium battery and only 50% use of a lead acid battery
