My new car still only has 45 miles, so I'll be looking forward to breaking it in, and saving gas, and all of it's other dependable features like you mentioned. I definitely plan on GOING PLACES! Yay!!!
People should really understand that, unlike many other expensive purchase (houses, stock, watches), cars are a depreciating product. You are suppose to use it as a tool
I’m looking for a worthy successor to my 2004 Corolla, which is still running just fine, thank you, Toyota. That means, a new (or newer) Corolla. The hybrid is cheap for a new car, but it’s still more than I want to spend (I’m retired and not driving a lot), so maybe an earlier year is the answer. But, whatever I buy, it’s gonna be Toyota!
As of this week, I've had my 23 Corolla LE hybrid for one year. No problems. Great gas mileage. I've had fancier and sportier cars. This may be the most pragmatic car I've had. It's comfortable. Works well. It's smart. The screen only works correctly with these brands of phone: Google, Samsung, Apple. Did not work well with my Motorola even after spending hours on the problem with Motorola and the Toyota techs over the months. Now I have a Galaxy and it's perfect.
Coming from a ‘06 Corolla CE, an almost 20 y/o car, if it were just by function, I could say I don’t need a new car. This one still performs well enough to get from point A to B. But it’s boring af, you don’t get any fun or excitement from your ride. I’ve been fortunate enough to now even consider buying my very first new car (the corolla was used). In my opinion this is okay if I were in my early 20’s with a low income. But that’s not me, and after seeing the 2025 Camry, I cannot see myself with anything below that. Can’t wait for more videos on that car.
I'm still driving a 02 Corolla CE manual transmission; I do have a 22 Sienna for long trips but the Corolla is still my primary vehicle. My first Corolla was a 83 with a 1.6L, dead realiable but painfully slow.
I have a 2020 Fusion hybrid, last year it was made. It's waaaaay nicer to drive than a Corolla hybrid. It rides so nice, handles great, awesome power seats, lumbar support..etc. I average around 40mpg driving not slow, not fast. Wish they still made the Fusion hybrid.
I owned a 2019 Fusion Hybrid before the car I traded for my new 24 Corolla LE Hybrid. I agree that the Fusion feels like a more substantial vehicle and more refined, but that comes at a significant cost, as the Ford was more expensive when new and ultimately will have more problems long term. I had none in the 175k miles I had mine, but most cars nowadays don’t start having trouble until around 200k… Toyota has a reputation of building cars that last far beyond that, and the simplicity of the Corolla and its hybrid drivetrain means it should fit that mold well.
I love my ‘21 hybrid, but it’s LOUD on highways and certain asphalts. I get that they didn’t put much sound deadening material in for weight but some would be nice.
I drove the 2021 Corolla Hybrid Hatchback Sport Touring 1.8 Hybrid version in Europe and I drove it everyday for 2 weeks until it needed a fillup! filled it up for 50 euros!!!!
My Toyota Prius C is a lovely car and has only 99hp for a curb weight of 1370 kg. It accelerates perfectly well for highway driving. I drive defensively and stick to within 5 or 10 k of the speed limit. Even the 138 hp Corolla is significantly more powerful per kilo of weight and my Prius C. It won't have any problems on the highway.
The prius definitely deserves it! The corolla hybrid is a great option but only if you’re seeking low cost, low drama, sensible transportation and not much else. The prius adds character to the recipe at the cost of visibility and price!
A month ago I bought a 2024 Corolla LE FWD hybrid. I'm currently getting 59.4 mpg and still improving every day, driving back and forth to work which is over 60 miles a day. My 21 Toyota sienna gets only 33 mpg because I think the all-wheel drive hurts it, same will happen with the Corolla.
This and the previous gen Corolla impress me with a lot of solidity and a really nice ride over rough surfaces. Maybe Toyota can spruce up the interior some on the next generation but the overall refinement of ride and feeling of solidity make this car feel worth every penny. And I find the seats comfortable.
Grammar: ...ARE not too many glossy plastics... Really good review, as always. The psychological analysis of the potential buyer was entertaining. My own nature conforms to an approach to life that values being inconspicuous. Ostentatious displays are vulgar at best. But my car will soon be 26 y.o. and, though still a joy to own and drive, might die before I do. So, thank you for the advice. I'll take it to heart.
In Ontario, Canada, dealers are selling the base Corolla L for $25,800 while they are demanding $34,000 for the base Corolla hybrid. That's a $8,000 markup just because there is so much demand for the hybrid. I'm sure you won't be saving $8,000 in fuel over the 6 years you will be driving it.
Also in Ontario; I haven't been to the dealers yet, so I don't know if the markup is still happening there, but online the price difference is only 3500 cad, and I think you get a lot for that price: nicer rims, nicer cloth, upgraded 7" display and heated seats not to mention the hybrid engine.
If you’re getting a hybrid, you can’t beat Toyota. Def thinking about getting one. Not sure if I should wait for the next Gen Corolla hybrid or look into the new civic hybrid. Seems a bit less reliable.
I like this car.....but my ONLY desire is maximum fuel economy. I bought brand new, a 2020 Prius.....and have already driven it 372,000 miles! I have averaged 81.22 MPG over that time.....I am a trained and experienced hypermiler. Next I will try to get a good price on a 2024 Prius......but I live near Seattle, and only AWD models are allocated here. So I may run down to Northern CA to purchase one......
I'm in Canada with the AWD variant and it would appear some of the features and specs are different. For starters the weight is 3053lbs (FWD) not 2850lbs, despite coming with alloy wheels rather than your steel wheels. What else could account for the 200lb difference? My gauge cluster is a screen rather than analog speed and tach. As a matter of fact there is no tachometer. I would like to know why it revs to >4000rpm (estimated) when accelerating or climbing hills. My '07 Yaris never exceeds 3500. I am only 5' 10" and I have to be careful not to bump my head when I get in the car. I don't know how anyone over 6' manages. My final annoyance is that there is no seatback pocket and the owners manual pretty much fills the glovebox. My Yaris has three gloveboxes including one on the drivers side.
It's really not much cheaper unfortunately. Some cars don't make as much sense used (if you can afford new), especially when you get free maintenance for 2 years and a fresh warranty.
It's a shame that the Corolla gets better tail lights in other markets outside the US. Either way, I'd rather have the non-hybrid version. The ICE version has plenty good MPG and significantly more HP.
Just sold my 2017 prius with 250k miles. Thinking of getting the corolla hybrid now. The new prius looks cool but totally overpriced in my opinion and also hard to find
Even if you drive say 2000 miles a month, the difference in gas cost vs a 30mpg car that is more fun isnt a huge motivator for me. Id rather they reintroduced a manual
Did you buy last year manual? Exactly, manuals don't sell. Manual on Corolla is also idiot proof. Impossible to stall, auto rev match but nobody buys them
For reliability the Corolla hybrid is king in the segment. For value and everyday driver experience, I would say the Hyundai Elantra hybrid takes the cake. The drivetrain is still one of the most reliable in the segment and Elantra hybrid has better interior design, quieter ride, and better driver experience. Not everyone buys these cars to drive it for 300k miles.

That's the 2024 model? The 2023 European has 12'' gauge cluster screen and a 10'' multimedia screen. Why haven't they upgraded the 2024 model to at least that. Unless we're talking the most basic trim. Did a 50 miles round trip, countryside and town, 4.2L/100km (56mpg). But I drove Eco (still at the limits, but managing acceleration and braking), and it's the new 2.0L Touring. In a less Eco way, I usually get 4.8-5.0L, which is still 45-47mpg US.. Basically, you have to work at it to get those MPG values, But hey, that's fine by me. In a city, it's really frugal, even the 2.0L.You can gain or lose 10 mpg easily in one of those.
Not American so don't know the miles per gallon. All I know is that we used to have fill up non hybrid sedan every week and cost around $120. Now it costs $60 to fill up and only need to fill up every 3 weeks.
You have to drive your hybrid car at least three times a week and exercise the battery. If it just sits there and watch TV, it will put on weight and get diabetes.

The Corolla fill that need perfectly. It has to be the number one car I see in neighborhoods bringing the domestic workforce in for the day. Many sporting logos of the service they provide. They cannot afford to drive them for style or fun. They keep buying them for good reason.
Always looking forward to a new post. Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday @ Realistick. Thanks for everything you do all year. 🟦
Thanks and happy holidays to you as well!
My '17 Corolla got totaled the other day after 6 years of loyal service. Don't know what the insurance payout is going to be yet, but with prior good condition and no other accidents, I'm hoping I'll be able to pick up something like this.
Awesome video, proper review unlike doug demuro's! Nice to know this thing can do a 8 sec 0-60!
That 17hp bump was much needed from the 2022 model.
My son has the regular corolla 2020 and I'm getting the plug in hybrid from toyota it just makes sense for me
Lol.......I too coveted the 40 k Corolla Hatchback, MANUAL TRANSMISSION of course. BUT.....I was blessed last week to have gotten this 2024 Corolla Hybrid..... and so I thank you for your thorough review. My new car still only has 45 miles, so I'll be looking forward to breaking it in, and saving gas, and all of it's other dependable features like you mentioned. I definitely plan on GOING PLACES! Yay!!!
The Hybrid has personality, perhaps just not a personality that competes with the driver. It's got a supporting role, not the lead. Lets you shine.
People should really understand that, unlike many other expensive purchase (houses, stock, watches), cars are a depreciating product. You are suppose to use it as a tool
Watches depreciate too
I’m looking for a worthy successor to my 2004 Corolla, which is still running just fine, thank you, Toyota. That means, a new (or newer) Corolla. The hybrid is cheap for a new car, but it’s still more than I want to spend (I’m retired and not driving a lot), so maybe an earlier year is the answer. But, whatever I buy, it’s gonna be Toyota!
Nice video on the Toyota Corolla hybrid le 2024 I'm about to buy one good looking out yo
I just bought Toyota Corolla hybrid . honestly I loved it
If you don't mind, could you tell me how much the total out-of-door price was? I'd like to buy one. Thanks in advance.
I have a new ram but would love one of these as a daily driver!! Maybe when I pay the truck off I’ll get one
I've had one since december. I've only had to get gas once a month so far and it super comfortable to drive.
It's a Ford..I prefer the reliability and resale value of the Toyota
Actually any Toyota is a smart choice based on my 50 years of ownership of so many brands
I love my ‘21 hybrid, but it’s LOUD on highways and certain asphalts. I get that they didn’t put much sound deadening material in for weight but some would be nice.
that's my only hesitation with going with a corolla--wonder if the 23/24 models are the same?
I drove the 2021 Corolla Hybrid Hatchback Sport Touring 1.8 Hybrid version in Europe and I drove it everyday for 2 weeks until it needed a fillup! filled it up for 50 euros!!!!
Do you think the warranty would be voided with an E85 conversion kit installed?
Great Review!!!
Thanks!
Somehow I feel you've convinced me give the new Prius a consideration.
The prius definitely deserves it! The corolla hybrid is a great option but only if you’re seeking low cost, low drama, sensible transportation and not much else. The prius adds character to the recipe at the cost of visibility and price!
@@Realistickhello there I drive HW leave in ,Northwest snow often and fog 🌫️ it’s fog light in this car ?
A month ago I bought a 2024 Corolla LE FWD hybrid. I'm currently getting 59.4 mpg and still improving every day, driving back and forth to work which is over 60 miles a day.
My 21 Toyota sienna gets only 33 mpg because I think the all-wheel drive hurts it, same will happen with the Corolla.
If you don't mind answering, how much was your out-the-door price? Thanks in advance.
24,455.... I actually got up to 64 mpg, but I'm down now to 62.7 after a highway trip
@joshzacher3343 wooww that's great. Where did you get the car?
This and the previous gen Corolla impress me with a lot of solidity and a really nice ride over rough surfaces. Maybe Toyota can spruce up the interior some on the next generation but the overall refinement of ride and feeling of solidity make this car feel worth every penny. And I find the seats comfortable.
Great video and wit!
Spot on! Do I want one? No, but my practical self says this is what I should get. And it would be an upgrade from my old Civic.
The Civic Hybrid is coming in a few months.
More than a few.
Thank you for the honest review.
I wish they still made the Yaris, that would also be an awesome one.
Yes! Yaris is bulletproof
I’m watching this as I’m prepping chicken and rice. Relevant side note, I’m a finance major.
“Like a pirate that moisturizes daily.” That’s very clever.
Nice review video bro👍🏾
Watching from india❤
If you’re getting a hybrid, you can’t beat Toyota. Def thinking about getting one. Not sure if I should wait for the next Gen Corolla hybrid or look into the new civic hybrid. Seems a bit less reliable.
Is there a pull-down shade for the touch-screen? -- it shines in my face -- PLEASE HELP
my record , 60 , contrary to what i expected it was achieved while driving long distances in highways, not too fast highways though , around 60 mph
This is my favorite car review ever lol 😂😂😂
How is it with road noise?
This is like the most essential car ever made lol.
Thanks for the good info. 🙌
I know 24k is good compared to other cars but getting a used one is probably cheaper and you could save more money.
It's really not much cheaper unfortunately. Some cars don't make as much sense used (if you can afford new), especially when you get free maintenance for 2 years and a fresh warranty.
i wish they still sold the saloon (sedan) version here in the uk. that looks much nicer.
The new prius looks cool but totally overpriced in my opinion and also hard to find
does this have a conventional cvt with a belt or a e-cvt without the belt??
Great car and deal. I not a fan of the big grill.
Impossible to stall, auto rev match but nobody buys them
It’s fog lights anywhere? Or possibility put on it ?
I put a deposit on the Corolla Hybrid SE AWD
Calgary, AB
MSRP or bust
Is there room to add a spare tire?
Here in NJ the starting price is 28k
For reliability the Corolla hybrid is king in the segment. For value and everyday driver experience, I would say the Hyundai Elantra hybrid takes the cake. The drivetrain is still one of the most reliable in the segment and Elantra hybrid has better interior design, quieter ride, and better driver experience. Not everyone buys these cars to drive it for 300k miles.
Is this the same size of the normal Corolla’s
"Its the automotive equivalent to eating chicken and [brown] rice, maxing out your IRA yearly." "A soft body, like a pirate that moisturizes daily." "Showing her your basement Shriek shrine on your first date." "Some of us wish we had the discipline to eat a balanced diet to achieve our fitness goals, the patience to save and invest money young, the dedication to learn a new language, or the focus to get more work done in less time." I clicked Subscribe after those hoots. Enjoy romping around Brown County. Better a slow car on an open road than a fast car stuck in traffic.
There are many people who want cars exactly like this, myself included. Too many people all alone driving huge luxury tanks to the office and grocery store.
Great review! Both on the car and on philosophy of life.
Basement Shrek shrine you say... Let's see it.
Now if Toyota would only put out a basic compact hybrid pickup.
i just bought mine today i couldnt see spending 40k on a vehicle i just need reliability and go point a to b.
I wish to buy one but not available in Canada.
It's absolutely available in Canada.
@@RobertDoosh we asked lot of dealerships and all want to book it with no delivery date promise.
@@RobertDooshyou will wait at least 1 year or more though😢
Mine achieves 62 MPG easily in routine
We have one and it is approximately 6 times cheaper to run when compared to a similar sizes petrol only vehicle.
Cool! What’s your average mpg, please?
Not American so don't know the miles per gallon. All I know is that we used to have fill up non hybrid sedan every week and cost around $120. Now it costs $60 to fill up and only need to fill up every 3 weeks.
A Shrek Shrine is as crazy thing to have 💀🤣
You have to drive your hybrid car at least three times a week and exercise the battery. If it just sits there and watch TV, it will put on weight and get diabetes.
this is the car you buy and drive for 500k miles, so you can afford the Porsche
goddamn right
A helmet test driving a hybrid. I laughed for about 60 seconds straight 😂…..
6'3" OMG!!!!!
You already have an orange light on the dashboard 🤣
If it was a hybrid "Hatchback" Corolla, it would already be in my garage. The sedan trunk is useless for me. But l'm patient.
