- I've been working up to this for a while, so that I can close the book on the "Gundam Breaker Saga" for myself. I take a little more time than usual to break this game down, while comparing the many differences between this game and it's followup, New Gundam Breaker. Is Gundam Breaker 3 REALLY the experience it was made out to be in contrast to it's sequel?

Seems like you forgot to cover a few things such as the Arena modes, Bounty Hunter, the SD partners, the DLC, the builder parts, and a few other things. Either way, glad you enjoyed it.
dude, you didn't even talk about the customization in detail, which what makes it so much better than New Gundam Breaker.
On another note, I miss the Dynasty Gundam games. Someone needs to convince Sony to include those in there remastering plans for PS4/PS5. Or just add them to the PlayStation now lists but keep them open for regular purchase. Dynasty Gundam reborn was ONLY released as a digital download on PS3. Physical disc copies were only available from UK versions (had English audio). That to me was one of the best because it was set up with BGM substitution options. Any music you had saved on your PS3, you could set up as the BGM music throughout the game. So…..if you had any favorite Gundam Soundtrack music/songs (or any favorite soundtrack from ANYTHING you have saved in PS3) you can then enhance your gameplay. Sweet. They could bring that feature back. This game (Breaker 3) looks much better than New Breaker. Currently waiting for my copy of Breaker 3 in the mail. I’ve been waiting so long for a very good Gundam game ever since I finished watching the Gundam build fighters anime series.

Customization options be damned, when I cranked this game up the first time I wanted crazy breathtaking cutscenes. Instead I was left with nothing but otome-esque on that😡. Gundam Breaker 3 was a no go for me. I prefer PSP's Kidou Senshi Gundam Cosmic Drive/Universe Accel.
Yeah, I'm not particularly fond of the budget "still images talking" type of cutscenes. Feels low effort, imo, when we're not playing a visual novel or something like that.
@@OneSleepyGiant I agree. The rest of the game was marvelous in graphics, controls...it is everything I wanted in those regards. You hit the nail on the head thecutscenes felt really budget-friendly😂.

A pretty good review from someone that experienced this game after NGB. 2 nitpicks tho... 1. Ya must have skipped parts of the story because it shows the motivations for the end game with the virus in Chapter 5. 2. You didn't touch on the Break Edition DLC Story mode which adds a bit more elements and a better end boss. Other than that good job. Also ya remind me of Somecallmejonny LOL and if you are interested in seeing some crazy videogame character builds check out some of the vids on my channel.
I appreciate the critique, thank you. Tbh yes, I tried to go through as many story cutscenes as possible in my attempt to record footage and realized post-production that I may have missed something.
Also, tell the truth, I had been kinda burned out on this series for a while, so I never touched the doc's.

@@KuroOtaku no see it wasn't strictly because of GB3, it's because I played NGB for well over a year before moving on to GB3. I was just ready to move on lol, I don't find recording the footage especially taxing at all.

Oh....nuts. I had noticed based on your build, but now I noticed you skipped over the biggest draw in this game that was also downgraded in NGB: Builder Parts. They're bits and pieces from other parts you could attach to your Gunpla to not only enhance their appearance and make them look more unique, but they even expanded its functionality. Like, you can actually equip a GN Drive on any part of the body and even use the Trans-AM from it. Or you could attach funnels on the legs, arms or backpack and even use them as intended. Check out zxyu0369. He has some fantastic builds with creative placement and usage of builder parts to better recreate Gunpla that aren't in the game
The Answer for the downgrade was. Completely different Developer between the games.
And a completely new game engine - Unreal 4.

How do you not mention customization, and the fact that builder parts are actually usable items not just cosmetic. You completely missed one of the most important reasons as to why gb3 is vastly superior to ngb.
Tbh stage design was downgraded from GB2, the story I can't say because it wasn't translated but it looked less developed than 2. Still though GB3 was a lot more fun with its gunpla design. For a few game I would take most of 3, the stage design of two and wouldn't mind a story based in GBW but I'd settle for a dating sim like NGB lol.
Simple answer for why NGB is worse than GB3…different developer. GB1-3 we’re all done by the same developer where as SNGB (shitty new gundam breaker) had a new developer. If you want a better storyline GB2 is your game but customisation isn’t anywhere near as good

Unfortunately this game doesn't allow for much weapon experimentation due to suffering a DPS drop if you decide to switch abilities from one weapon to another. Also, this game's roster is a bit stale now especially compared to Gunpla Warfare's roster (Why the hell was Season 1 Deathscythe and even the Leo in THAT game but not Breaker 3?)
I think the thing about Japanese anime games in general is that they just suffer mostly from the same thing where they are just churned out and all feel kinda "samey" like cartoon or franchise games in the US lol in general all anime games kinda suck and are just fan service, but it could be worse it could have just ended up as a generic anime brawler lol
While I don't disagree with you, I don't think that necessarily applies here. I broke down everything in detail, but I believe this game to be of a higher quality than a number of Bandai Anime games that we've received in recent years. I also acknowledge that this game is NOT for everybody.

Me and some of the people in our group always say it's basically a result of Bandai Namco having a monopoly on licenses for mainstream anime games. It sucks because there's never any competition. If there aren't people to do it better, why would they ever feel a need to improve? Especially since most of these big name games still sell.
