No but it's a fair misunderstanding imo, because we see the Sea Prism Stone trigger the DF weakness with minimal contact so many times that it could be easy for one to conflate that with how water affects the user.
Seems kinda arbitrary to me. A tip of sea stone weakens you completely whilst you have to be at least half submerged to to start feeling weakened. Oda should have made the sea gradually weaken you the more you submerge yourself into it. And also it should have stayed sea water only, no fresh water.

Yeah you have to be submerged to a certain level and even then it only saps a DF users strength not nullify their power. Sea stone nullifies abilities and weakens the body. Though this is used inconsistently at times. It allways nullifies but we don’t allways see it weaken. Possibly down to the individual I’m guessing the stronger you are you can resist the weakening effect?
The encounter with Aokiji is def a shift in tone. All I'm gonna say is Luffy can be goofy but always trust his intuition. he immediately wanted to fight Aokiji perhaps he could sense aokiji's ulterior motive... Robin's past is a interesting mystery and the next arc will not dissapoint you guys I'm sure! Remeber everything is connected and is important... Enjoy!😶🌫

Yes, Aokiji insta-froze SEA water. That alone goes to testify an Admirals strength, and there are 3 of them. Take note of their names, it is important.
Aokiji has such a good intro. He was so laidback i found him instantly hilarious, then right after he showed he could have easily killed all the Strawhats! Btw putting a hand into water doesn't really do anything to DF users, they need to be at least partially submerged to get weakened by it😃
OT Zoro isn't officially the vice captain or second in command, even if he's the second strongest. Oda said all crew members, aside from Luffy, are supposed to be equal so he didn't give them ranks. Still a controversial opinion in the fandom though lol

I always saw him as an elder brother, with a swordsman way...Rigid in his case, all about strength, and not a dance.. A quality I can respect, which is still his flaw as well. I have noticed Oda writes him like an insert of some readers even.. it all makes sense though..
@@lonewolf9325 on one hand i get why his attitude + his strenght have people think he's vice captain, on the other we also see for example Sanji taking things in his hands pretty often + he has leader qualities/attracts people (whether he likes it or not lol). But since he isn't as strong as Zoro and he's more visibly "emotional" some tend to dismiss those parts of his character. I personally find them both to be essential support to Luffy, with different strenghts, without any of them necessarily being vice captain.

Long ago some one asked how much water was needed for Luffy to get weakened or not being able to use his Devil Fruit and Oda said "Up to his knees". So Aokiji sticking his hands into water was probably Okay...? I guess Oda just had to set those things straight so some body just couldn't toss a bucket of seawater over him or something. Also it is stated that the "sea" hates him. But I've seen Luffy drown in fresh water too. There is a few things that doesn't make fully sense in One Piece but it's not the biggest "faults" or plot-holes. The biggest reason I watch OP is because it's the most intricate story with the least amount of plot-holes in that regard how long it is. Biggest respect to Oda.
And this is why we got you all to let us know about those details! But it makes sense that he’d be able to use his power while only just having his hand in the water.

My favorite arc, finally. I think there are many equally good arcs after this but this one is just nostalgic for me because it came out like 20 years ago and I was young when I read and watched this masterpiece :D

I hope that was just because the pacing in these 4 episodes was kinda slow, and that in future episodes you'll be back to focusing on each scene more. Even though we know what happens in these episodes its still weird seeing so many jumpcuts so often :D

It is good in retrospective, like episodes 500 or something build upon skypia and episodes 700 builds upon episode from alabasta etc (just examples). I guess what I'm saying the show doesnt seem to know what it wants in the beginning and it seems it was just arc after arc without any connections to eachother (I hate those shows) and just after a while it gets the more stable platform underneath itself. So up to 226 basically is just a confusing prologue to me who doesnt seem to be of any importance (thats what i tought when I was a kid at least). So what's better? To hype up the first part also... but then they maybe get disappointed ....or say it gets good at 226 and kind of excuse the weaker earlier episodes (which are important later and 110% necessary, I think) ?

It's subjective tbh. I hear different answers as to where one started to love one piece or where it gets good. Personally I have loved One piece from the 1st episode so 🤷🏻♀ Not that I love every arc equally. I like them all except long ring long land arc, that one I just could never get to like it. It might also have to do with what kind of expectations you go in when starting One piece. For example, I started it out of the blue, after seeing a random comedic scene on youtube (thinking it was all going to be lighthearted🥲) Nobody that I knew watched it granted most of my inner circle does not even or didn't watch anime back then. I didn't go on forums to talk about One piece. I was just fully immersed into the world of one piece without any bias or any kind of input from others. Only since Covid did I start watching reactions and seeing peoples opininions in the comments. Well... it can be bit of a mess sometimes😅 All in all I just recommend it, state why I love One piece and leave the other to judge for themselves.

Sea stone was said to have the power of the sea or some sort.
But its NOT the sea or having 100% effect of the sea.
So far, being fully submerged by water, df users can still have their df power, especially the passive effects/powers.
Just like Luffy passive rubber body.
While the seastone completely making df user unable to not only use their df piwer but also seemingly turning off the passive df ability.
Seastone is just like in the middle between Yami Yami at one side of the spectrum and the effect of being submerged at the opposite side of the spectrum.
Yami Yami totally nullify the df power while the water submerged only greatly weaken the df user without totally nullifying/blocking df passive capabilities.
