Chef Jeffrey, I salute you! I've been baking for over 70 years, and made an awful lot of cakes, and this that you have shown us is what a cake should look like. Beautiful crumb, and no skimpy frosting. I love all kinds of cakes, but you can't do better than a good vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. I don't know who complains about too much frosting, but you go right ahead and slap it on there, it looks good and it tastes good.

In fact,when my mom transitioned 🙏🏽🕊in ‘09 one of our retired cafeteria ladies baked a delicious poundcake just for us. Miss Gertrude made it clear that the cake was specifically for us & “not for dem hungry folks at the repast”😂.

Today we had an open house for my son’s graduation. We served a lot of food. The two things people ate the most out of everything was your baked beans and the ham w your glaze. It was important for me to have good food. Sincerely thank you for helping me in this area.

Always loved a school house sheet cake. They were always the best cakes. They don’t make them any more in schools though and they really should. This generation don’t know about good school food. Government messed that up. Great video.

Every summer she helped cook for 70-100 campers at a Bible Camp. That dear lady could cook!

This Texas sheet cake goes way way back. Old school days!! In the 60s we had to choose off a menu what days we wanted hot meals. I always made sure I chose the days that had the Texas sheet cake!!! Lol. My mama made my lunches the rest of the days. She caught on after awhile why I only wanted hot lunch on those days. I wanted the Texas sheet cakes!!!! Lol. I havnt had one in years!!! I don't understand those type of ppl also Chef Jeff. Another thing i don't understand is, i use the same ingredients and measurements as You But My Batter never is thick like Yours🤷🏾. The cake comes out very tasty and nice but i just like a thick batter. Well i guess as long as its Good 👍🏾 😊
Dont think nothing of a big mess...im a baker also...first time i used one of the big floor mixers...the manager went back into.the office...left me by myself...well you guest it ...i had dough every where...i didnt even know how to turn it off...he comes flying out the door and says...what the h are you doing...i was so upset. He goes just go home and come back tomorrow cause u r going to learn this.. sure enough i learned..i must admit im good at what i do.
I did try it and it worked! Fit perfectly in the standard square cake pan. I didn't have the extract you used so I used vanilla, butter,and almond extract. Awesome recipe!
