    Eric's the best at explaining why he plays what he plays. Also incorporates lines he didn't play just to show you what could've happened.
    Also his voice is so calming, makes it very comfortable to sit and listen for half an hour or longer.

      The fact that Eric added it to the video is why I’m a subscriber. Eric calmly explains why he thought it was natural then shows us why it was not great and how fast the move got a stink face from Hikaru. Best 30 min I spent all day.

    17:28 what about Bd3? Bxd3 loses a rook and Rxe2 can be answered with Kxe2 or Bxe2. Black isn't actually winning material there.

      Yeah I double-checked with the engine, there's no way for black to win anything after Bd3.

      Black should be easily winning after that, white will have difficulty defending the pawns from promoting. At least that’s what I think…

    17:22 When you said there was a trap, I immediately thought Bc4 but on a closer look there might be a way out, with ... Bd3. Of course that's a losing ending but it doesn't necessarily win material.

    Congratulations on the well deserved win and looking forward to more. I went to the tourney’s web site and viewed the results and saw your name. I couldn’t read how many points you had or how you placed because the tournament “printout” was in a weird DOS-like format and I couldn’t read it on my iPad. That’s good in away because no spoiler alerts!
    Edit: I rotated my iPad to portrait and what do you know, the results were easy to read. Ugh.
