The man has no ego about much of anything. He's the sort of person who would hold the door for the doorman. He's just a thoughtful and considerate guy who happens to be one of the world's greatest chess players. I enjoy his analysis videos because he thinks so deeply.

I think he shines with someone else there. There's too much he could say, he wouldn't know what to say without a framework. I think that's why C Squared works. I also think he might need a little push to do something like that which someone else doing it with him can help with.

I felt sad for Fabi and Nipo in their match .. when Nepo said Sorry and Fabi said : its my mistake!! Damm what a painful time for them 🥹 when you give everything to the game and you closer than ever to the world title! Then its fly away in a second

0:26 as a competitive person, i know exactly what he means. Telling someone good luck before you compete against them can be taken as, "youll need luck to beat me" kinda thing

Not to mention, in chess there is no randomness. So a blessing of luck seems out of place.
Chess is a battle, so you should not say "Good luck". You should say "Godspeed" or in Klingon, "Today is a good day to die". (Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam)
I found it interesting that the top chess players don't say good luck in the beginning of the game. As a pool player we pretty much always say that or something similar as a matter of courtesy. As part of the hand shake or fist bump.

Nice content. I like his advice on getting stronger as a goal vs. getting to a specific rating. Getting stronger is more bite sized, and every small step adds up.

It's basically like playing with odds. It doesn't tank their position completely but it starts them on the back foot, honestly pretty fair for a WFM vs a GM/super GM

The Goat is already an opening. It's a variation of the Caro-Kann invented by Magnus where you play c6 and a6 before d5.

No, she´s saying "aj aj aj". It´s Swedish. Aj is something you say when you hurt yourself, like if you hit your toe. But when you repeat it like she does, it means like "this is not good", or like "oh no". But she of course speaks Spanish as well, just not in this case.

I love all of these Masters. They're such humble people to get to know but they're all very interesting in their own unique ways. Chess is quite unique because of how well the fans can get to know them. I just can't say enough good things about them!😀
I would love to see Anna and some of these top GM try shogi as well.
So here's an explanation of Fabi's win for the non chess players: Anna resigned because she wasn't going to be able to stop Fabi's black pawn from getting to the A1 square. Getting the pawn there would allow a "promotion" of the pawn to a Queen which would make it very easy to quickly checkmate her. Tough for her to defend that square because her Bishop was of no help (it only can attack white squares) and her King was the only way to stop it.
That's what she meant when she said "I can't stop it, I can't stop it". And then Fabi noted that it become a loss once that pawn made it to the A4 square.
Fun game with two people of quality character. Fabi is a great champion and a class act. Thanks Anna!
