🍕 Thanks for making this video this is the best ninja turtle TH-cam channel so thank you I’m a big fan of the turtles and by the way who is your favorite ninja turtle 🐢
Great video... I am a new subscriber as I just subbed about 2 weeks ago... But you missed a very blatant reference... In one of the turtles fights with the foot clan you can clearly see in the background Raphael do the milti-slam technique to a foot soldier... Which is a reference to the popular move in the turtles in time game... If I'm not mistaken they also used the same sound bite from the slam
There's another reference to TMNT video games the 4th one, when Mike gets hit on the foot he screams "MY TOES!" Everytime that a turtle gets hurt on the feet on that game they scream that.
Tight-Pants Jack he doesn’t have those scars in the comics. I’ve only seen them in 90’s movie. He just pointed out that his mask and the face he’s making look the same in that shot.
The accuracy bit is a reference to the first season of the original Nick Turtles Show, because Donnie say's "It's good to be accurate" at times in the show. One prime example was when they were trying to get this vape ray away from the Kraang, Donnie explains what would happen if they got hit by the ray itself. Mikey is confused by what Donnie told them so Raph translates it as "It makes things go boom." Then Donnie says "Actually it would make things go Zweeee Chuuuuu pop" Everyone looks at Donnie blankly and then Donnie says "It's good to be accurate." Also, there were some easter eggs and references that weren't TMNT related. For example, the moment where Mutant Mr. Freeze is attacking Robin, and Raph yells "Hey creature, leave that kid alone!" it was a playoff the line "Hey teachers, leave us kids alone!" from Pink Floyd's "The Wall"
I noticed one of the turtles was using the same grab from the TMNT game as well. Where they grab them by the leg and repeatedly slam them on the ground. pretty cool easter egg.
Was it just me or I felt 2012 vibes coming off the movie? I mean when Rise completely changed their personalities from the original turtles we knew we finally got a movie with the originality and I just felt like I was watching the 2012 turtles with the way it was placed. Loved this movie❤
The film absolutely blew me away. It's a masterpiece. I don't remember enjoying as much any other action film. There are so many good things to say, I would be out of words pretty quick.
Great video as always! I love this film! one of my favorite Easter eggs is Michelangelo's skateboard is Mondo gecko's skateboard from the original toy line. So cool!
I just Redboxed it and, sonuvabich, this movie somehow met every expectation I had for it going in but also exceeded them in the best ways possible. I loved every moment. I hope Nickelodeon and Sony get together to make a Ghostbusters/TMNT movie happen soon.
The way the foot ninjas drop down at 10:13 looks kinda like how they did in the first episode of the 2003 series. It's a bit of a stretch but it reminded me of it
This ain't a Batman or Turtle reference but during the fight of Michelangelo, Robin, and Raphael vs Mutated Mr. Freeze, Raphael ends up saying "Hey creature...leave that kid alone." I can see that some people over looked the Pink Floyd reference to "Another Brick In The Wall" with the original lyric going "Hey Teacher...leave those kids alone!" I love Korn's cover of that song more than the original.
The Foot clan move Shredder used against Batman in their first encounter is an Easter Egg to the 2012 animated TMNT series where Splinter used it against Shredder himself
Theres a point where Raph grabs a foot soldier and slams him on either side about 3 times. Reminded me of the same triple slam you can do in the game Hyperstone Heist/ Turtles in Time
@Tammy Ryan well... he's not really wrong tammy when you think about it the characters are from different stories so ''technically'' speaking it is a little bit of a crossover from different movies.
@Tammy Ryan to clarify i meant just within the MCU lolz since they are from different comics and yes im only joking no need to pull the hate trigger i know the difference between a cross over hence timmy turner jimmy neutron power hour and also only reason i brought that up is cause power rangers does team cross overs with in it's own series my favorite being thunder storm ep with dino rangers teamed up with dino thunder so like i said technically all the avengers in infinity war and endgame is a crossover cause they are coming in from different movies sure same universe but same idea. since they all originated from different comics originally so somewhat of a crossover just within the same universe get what im saying? ( ps all fun and games in the comment section heheh ) oh and one more thing you say just because they're all in the marvel universe then lets look at comic perspective wise deadpool/spiderman oh nvm it would be considered a teamup in a way but then wouldn't a teamup be a crossover that's the real question :) ( sorry if that was really confusing and long lolz )
Another reference is when the Turtles are putting their weapons in their holsters, at the beginning of each shot, they're holding/"displaying" their weapons the exact same way as they do in the '87 cartoon intro at the part where Raph says, "Hey, get a grip."
I'm not sure if this is an easter egg, but when Batman punched Mikey's foot, he shouted 'My toe!" That's a reference to when the turtles stepped on a spike in the sewer.
If there was a sequel to Batman vs TMNT, here are some things we expected to see: 1.) The appearance of Casey, Nightwing, Lucius Fox, April, Catwoman, Master Splinter and Karai 2.) Jokerized Shredder stepping in! 3.) Batman shows Raphael Crime Ally 4.) Bane takes over New York with Bebop and Rocksteady 5.) Batman briefly talks to Leo about having complicated relationships, like Karai and Selina for example. 6.) A hint of another sequel, featuring Krang and Anti-Monitor
A.J Thomas Not to mention Leatherhead and Killer Croc meeting each other. Id also like to see more of Baxter Stockman too. And Id even like to see Krang in it too. It could even reveal an old rivalry between Lucius Fox and Baxter Stockman.
@@justinratcliffe947 Dude, Stockman and Fox being rivals would make so much sense in this version since they're part of the same world as opposed to alternate realities in the comic. Leatherhead vs Killer Croc could almost be it's own spinoff movie, too.
The designs of the turtles themselves are call backs to the designs seen in the cartoons and comics. Mikey looks like his 2012 cartoon design, Donny looks like his IDW design, Raph looks like a mix between his 2003 & 2018 cartoon designs, and Leo looking like his 2003 cartoon design.
There’s was a trash can thrown at Batman by one of the turtles, which if I remember correctly a trash can was usually one of the finishing blows in the 80s cartoon
Great vid bro the whole movie was amazing hope they do the whole tmnt Batman story it is so good and i love that ur channel is everything tmnt keep on rockin bro Cowabunga
I saw and thoroughly enjoyed this movie before I stumbled upon your video. After seeing you point out the various Easter Eggs that even I missed; I love this movie even more!
I got 3: One reference to the movies is at the pizza eating, the unpolite turtles don't use napkins. Other mixed reference is at mutated Bane vs Don. Bane does a backcrush on Don like he did on Batman breaking his spine. In modern comics Don got his back crushed by one of the shredder's goons. And the last one is about the arcade game level 1 intro, there's a moment when Mike falls down and the music stops. It could be a reference to the game when the 4 turtles land over the April's building and Mike is the only one that land with his ass.
I enjoyed the movie. In fact, I watched it last night. Some of the other references I noticed, when Mikey is drawing on the board and describing the Batman, one of his drawings is a rendition of the Batman logo from the Animated Series (1992). In that same scene, Raph says Batman wears a Dracula costume to which Donny grumbles, "Dracula costume? What kind of Dracula movies are you watching?" In 2005, there was a Batman vs Dracula film based on The Batman series. When Shredder's mask is broken off, it reveals several scratch marks on his left cheek, similar to the original 1990 movie where a rat Splinter clawed his face. In that same scene, Raph yells, "In your face, Shredhead!" a nickname for Shredder from the 1987 series.
Bought and watched day of release on Blu Ray. 100% loved it. It is one of the best animated movies I've seen in a long time. Nice video. I enjoy watching your videos.
You forgot the Sound Effects of Donatello swinging his Bo Staff from the 2012 Series in the movie and the scenes where Michelangelo was saying "Everybody run! There's a crazy guy in a bat suit who is trying to kill us!" and then people scream and Mikey says "I know right? Really spooky stuff." and Batman grapples Mikey and said "Crud." and Donnie said "Nice of you to join us." and Mikey yelled "I was protecting the citizens man! The Citizens!" and when Batman activates Taser Level 7 to shock Raphael and Leonardo telling Batman to back way from the Turtles from the comics
This movie was fan service to the max. When it was made, it kept in mind everything that people like me, who geekgasmed at the mere mention of the words "Batman vs. TMNT" wanted. And it's one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I didn't know how badly I wanted to hear Batman say "It's pizza time" until I saw it on the screen.
I love this movie and think it's pretty awesome. It's the perfect mix from both franchises. One thing i noticed, but i guess it's just a coincidence, was the mutation of one of the League of Assassins Ninjas at the beginning of the movie. He transformed into a mutant wolf, which reminds me of Rahzar from "Secret of the Ooze".
My favourite TMNT cover they spoofed in the credits was that of Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 2) #5 "Blind Faith", such an underrated comic from an underrated era and series of TMNT.
I come from the Batman side of this crossover and feel like I should share a few Batman easter eggs I found: -The red sky and the zeppelins refer to Batman: The animated series, the most iconic version of Batman. -"Oracle" is the codename Batgirl uses as a hacker after being paralyzed by the Joker. -Bane tries to break Donnie's back, a callback to an iconic storyline in which he broke Batman's back. -When Raph and Damian do research on Ra's al Ghul, a picture of a longhaired woman pops up in the background. She is Talia al Ghul, Ras's daughter, love interest of Batman and also Damians mother. -Ra's says that perhaps another child must die to teach Batman not to bring children into battles. This references Jason Todd, the second Robin who died at the hands of the Joker (and came back as badass anti-hero). -Three prominent items in the batcave are a giant dinosaur, a giant penny and a giant playing card. These are displayed in almost every version of the batcave. -STAR labs, Lex Corps and Power Industrials are popular facilities in the DC universe -As always, Batman (and the turtles) dissappear while Gordon looks away for a brief second. -And last but not least: Batman drinks coffee from a superman cup. You're welcome :)
That penguin henchman from 4:55 is actually a reference to The Dark Knight Returns. He’s modeled after the Mutant Leader from that comic run. Funny that he shares a similar look with Krang’s robot body. Never made the connection lol
When Batman first encounter and fought the turtles the very first time, he threw Michelangelo through the walls of a pizza cafe. There’s 2 women that are talking at a table and one of them is wearing a yellow jacket and the other is wearing glasses with her hair up. This is a reference to April O’Neil and her friend Irma from Channel 6. Truly a clever Easter egg to find.
Before Alfred offers napkins to the Turtles, he is pulling on Mikey’s bandana reprimanding him, just like it happens in Secret of the Ooze. Edit: Also, during the intro when they show the Turtles, Mikey has a superhero costume (that doesn’t seem to be Batman’s), that could be a reference to his Turtle Titan persona in the 2003 series.
Easter Egg from 1990 movie - Ralph attacks Shredder first saying "I got him" on the rooftop scene and he does something similar in this movie when they fight Batman.
I recently noticed a brief, blink and you'll miss it, easter egg. When Batman and Shredder are fighting at the end, right after Batman says Cowabunga, for a brief second Shredder is in the exact pose he has in the original NES TMNT game when he appears on the TV after kidnapping Splinter.
The Turtlevan shot out sewer covers like the Pizza Thrower vehicle from Playmates. That was the biggest TMNT reference you missed as far as I can tell. It was literally only ever a toy so i can imagine how easy it would be to miss it if you hadn’t grown up in the eighties and watched toy commercials as a kid,
Loved the movie. The pizza painted manhole cover launcher is based off an 80's toy. I believe Donnie said, "Bosanova (sp)" in the movie like the 90's movie. The scene when Bane tried to break his back but was saved by the shell made me think of the IDW comics. Kinda sad they didn't have Splinter. I liked his interactions with Batman in the comics.
I caught some more Fred Wolf intro reference shots. There were a couple during the van chase sequence, and there may have been others. Also, the Shredder design was as much based on Mirage as Fred Wolf.
- Batgirl and Donatello arguing over whether to call ooze or mutagen, or the other way around - One of the league of assassins members gets mutated into a wolf ala Rahzar (secret of the ooze)
I'm wondering how he missed easter eggs to the toys, like how the hubcaps being launched were all painted like pizzas, in an obvious call back to the old pizza launcher toy from the 80s.
I personally just hate when they have Leo’s katanas on his hip it just doesn’t look good at all, Leo and Donnie’s weapons are on they’re shells and Raph and Mikey’s weapons on the sides
REFERENCE: Not a 100% identical but when the Turtles fight Shredder for the first time in the 90s movie, Raph goes first and says "I got 'im". When the Turtles face off with Batman for the first time Raph pulls the same move and says "Nah, I got this".
My one grievance with this otherwise exquisite slice of Fan Service Delux Pizza is that there are two sorely missed opportunities, and, their names are Leatherhead and Killer Croc! If and whenever Warner Bros. decides to bring the Dark Knight and the Green Machine back together, I would love to see a throwdown between those two. I'll even write the scenario. The Turtles are traipsing the sewers in order to surprise the Bat Family with their return. Suddenly, they hear somebody else running around. Cue a rather hungry-looking Croc engaging battle with our boys in green. When hope seems lost, in busts their good friend, Leatherhead! The battle ensues. The bell is rung! Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding...! SOMEBODY MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
To be fair, with everything else crammed into this movie, there wouldn't have been time to do that encounter the justice it deserves. I say that because the idea of Leatherhead and Killer Croc hunting each other through the sewers could almost be its own separate spin off movie.
Some of those called easter eggs you talk about come straight from the comic this movie inspired. Such as the part where Michelangelo calls themselves aliens and when Raphael loses his sai.
I played that newer arcade game. It was fantastic! I pumped so many £coins in the one machine I found! It was crazy exciting as I was 4-5 when the original arcade came out and it always had a massive queue of people waiting to play so I didn’t get to play it until I got in my late 30s. It was such an experience. It needs to be ported to any console!
The Shredder who Laughs is also a nod to a Silent Film called "The Man Who Laughs" who's main character's looks has often been cited by both Batman thief err I mean co creator Bob Kane and Comic book historians as the primary inspiration for the Joker

Facts. That was an easy one. How'd he miss that one?

Oh yeah!
There was a second one when Raphael unmasked Shredder, “his face” was scared in the same spot as in the first movie, where Splinter clawed him.
I just realized you left the part when the Shredder was unmasked he had the same scars on his face just the 1990 movie counterpart.
Thank you, seriously!! How did this guy miss that.
He mentioned it at 7:00, but pointed out it was more of a nod to the Mirage Comics.

The comic at the end also does the opposite too, which I thought was awesome! I seriously want a wallpaper of every one of them from the credits!
The Turtlevan shot out sewer covers like the Pizza Thrower vehicle from Playmates. That was the biggest TMNT reference you missed as far as I can tell. It was literally only ever a toy so i can imagine how easy it would be to miss it if you hadn’t grown up in the eighties and watched toy commercials as a kid,
They do some anime running in this movie. I felt like it fit for them though cuz they are Ninjas
You hit everything pretty good I think... And I'm a batman fan so yeah dude you get a thumbs-up from me 👍
Love the Metalhead motorcycle!
The next logical step is the turtles vs superman.
Superman sucks though
@@slimischillin7753 yep
Can someone tell me EXACTLY when Donnie says bossa nova
At the end Shred head reaches out of the rubble just like beginning of the tmnt 2 movie
Choji Shredder Joker!!!
I caught some more Fred Wolf intro reference shots. There were a couple during the van chase sequence, and there may have been others. Also, the Shredder design was as much based on Mirage as Fred Wolf.
Shredder also receives cuts on his face like the original movie when splinter scratches him as a rat.
Big Tastey Now I shall finish what I began with your ear!!!

For me this is one of the best movie crossovers ive ever seen😊🦇🐢
The reference to Pink Floyd’s The Wall was my favorite reference
- Batgirl and Donatello arguing over whether to call ooze or mutagen, or the other way around
- One of the league of assassins members gets mutated into a wolf ala Rahzar (secret of the ooze)
Do NOT EVER make the Turtles look like a CG version of Shrek.
Thank you for doing God's work!
I'm wondering how he missed easter eggs to the toys, like how the hubcaps being launched were all painted like pizzas, in an obvious call back to the old pizza launcher toy from the 80s.
I thought Penguins henchman was more of a nod to the mutants in The Dark Knight Returns
Holden B. Huffman me too and its kind of both
It’s always the right time for accuracy is a reference to tmnt 2012 cause Donnie says something Like that I’m season 1 ep 19
Thought the same thing
Great video but if I took a shot every time dude said iconic I'd need my stomach pumped
I personally just hate when they have Leo’s katanas on his hip it just doesn’t look good at all, Leo and Donnie’s weapons are on they’re shells and Raph and Mikey’s weapons on the sides
Pizza Thrower reference.
The scar over Raphs eye might be a reference to the comics
When we see the Turtles and Batman getting ready they reference the 1987 intro.
Jaden Von Bat WOW I TOTALLY AGREE!!! LEATHERHEAD AND KILLER CROC REALLY DO NEED TO CROSS PATHS
To be fair, with everything else crammed into this movie, there wouldn't have been time to do that encounter the justice it deserves. I say that because the idea of Leatherhead and Killer Croc hunting each other through the sewers could almost be its own separate spin off movie.
They also took from Mortal Kombat Vs DC when Batman was hitting Shredder on their way down in the air
Lets be real
You can put anything in tmnt
Space travel, time travel, multiverse, mutans, aliens...
samo cerv Of course you can. That's what makes it such an awesome franchise.
This colaboration is like a miracle for me because Im a huge fan of tmnt and batman
Some of those called easter eggs you talk about come straight from the comic this movie inspired. Such as the part where Michelangelo calls themselves aliens and when Raphael loses his sai.
I spotted a similar camera angle of the turtle van side window/mirror reflection which also appeared in the 89 cartoon intro
A reference to the arcade game when the manhole cover blows off into the sky.
The Patry Wagon is modelled after the 90s action vehicle toy even down to the stickers! :)
I loved this movie! It wasn't just a good DC animated movie which I consider it one of the best! but its a good ninja turtle film overall!
I wish death stroke was in there too
I loved it!!!! Old skool memories ❤🤘🏼
I bought that movie and I like it, nice video
In the start of the movie when the turtles are on the roof tops they do a pose and it's the same as the pose on mirage #1
This movie was freaking awesome!
