Hi Nadine. I just wanted to say you're my favourite beauty TH-camr! You just say it like it is and that's what we need is honest no faff info and opinions! Thank you! Xx
Clear packing sacks/bags are great! I have them for clothing too. I bring mesh zip bags for laundry (3 sizes). These two “systems” help me edit what I pack for the next trip as well. Thank you for all your videos, tips, and tricks!
I have sworn by this exact method for about a year and it's literally changed my travel life. My hubby mocks my enormous clear minis bag....and my small medical one (blister plasters, anti histamines, bit cream etc). The ear plugs and eye mask are spot on for hotels too. I'd swear you've seen me in an airport given how much this IS my travel approach. I couldn't go back to full size, covered up products. Benefit and Sephora are great for minis....as is the m&s beauty advent calendar.
Some of us fly with hand luggage only and have to fit EVERYTHING for our trip (toiletries, make up and any liquid medication) into those 20cm x 20cm sealable plastic bags for a week away! It’s a real challenge but I have perfected the art of knowing exactly how much to take through trial and error. I also find as many “dry” products as I can so that they can be packed separately (in a larger clear plastic bag) like pit-rok deodorant, pencils for eyes and lips, powder makeup products, etc. These all make a big difference to how much you can fit into one of those awful airport bags! When buying products in the pharmacy here in Spain they almost always give you sample sizes or sachets of products. I save these for travel (you can get so much more in when it’s in sachets) and also raid the miniatures section at Sephora. I particularly love the mini Benefit roller lash mascara, mini MUFE loose and pressed powders, mini MUFE eye liners and mini NARS creamy concealers for travel.in fact, although it works out more expensive, I often buy mini sizes of products now because I had such a huge make up and toiletries collection before that it was a problem for me to get through it all, especially when I’d bought the product and didn’t particularly like it. Forcing myself to finish a 500ml bottle of shampoo I didn’t really like when I’d already bought a different product I loved was an exercise in willpower!
As always a great video.. I love packing efficiently for a trip.. I also use packing zip cases for my clothes, keeps things all folded and organised.. lots of love xx
M & S do a good 3 set of clear zip bags for under a tenner. I think I also saw similar in Superdrug. I also bought a great clear mini vanity case in Savers which I use for my makeup. It was under a fiver. Emma x
Elemis did a great dupe/copy of the Anya one a few years ago. Has two compartments just like hers and came with lots of travel sizes. Love it & use it whenever I travel xx
I have a case similar to the Procase, but I never trust "TSA approved" for my carry-on; I make sure everything will fit in a ziplock and bring one just in case. I bother with the Procase type bag just because I find it nicer to use at my destination. I find earplugs uncomfortable after a while so I was super pleased to find the LectroFan Micro Wireless Sleep Sound Machine on Amazon. It's tiny, produces non-looped white noise (plus some other choices) and also works as a Bluetooth speaker. I love that it's not a recorded loop since my brain can pick out the repeat point of a loop easily which then becomes more torture than help.
I like the idea of the clear bags rather than the fabric case and will definitely try that next time. They would be much easier to pack into corners in your luggage. I have used minis for many years and decant larger products into smaller clear bottles - so much more efficient than full size and always ready to go.
Loved this video Nadine! I did this for my recent holiday to the Bahamas. I bought two MyKitCo bags which are like the MAC bags but more affordable. 💗✨
Even when I'm not flying, I use my clear TSA bags to separate my toiletries by use: shower, skin care, for beside the bed. I also have a collection of nalgene bottles that are leak proof and label them as some trial size products can still be bulky.
Dear Nadine 😊 please make a video on hrt! I’ve just started and I’m feeling completely safe, but I found out lots of menopausal women are not! I’m rubbish at explaining but you are so great, so please make a video!😘
Karin Verndal I second this... Its my 2nd month in with hrt and would love to hear how its helped you, how you felt before etc. I am 49, the youngest out of my group of girlfriends and the first one on it. Thanks Nadine 💕
Nadine, I always love your videos. This was a great topic. I have a dupe of the Anya Hindmarch clear case (same stiff double-sided zips, which was why I didn't purchase the original) that I bought on a travel website a few years ago. But sadly I have been asked to transfer my items to those flimsy clear bags at 3 London airports.
One thing I do when I'm packing for a trip is to use lightweight fabric baskets to contain my toiletry items in my suitcase, and I use small fabric zip-up containers to corral all my socks and other small clothing items. I also use my zip-up laundry bags to keep my clothing items tidy and separate on the flight out, and they contain all my items that need to be laundered on the flight back. If I didn't wear something on the trip (I always pack a couple extra things in case I fall into a fountain or something), I'm able to keep the clean items separate. Some people just throw everything into a suitcase willy-nilly, but I like to pack it as tightly as I can, even if I don't need all the space. I have several suitcases that I can use for trips of varying length, so if I find I have a huge amount of space in my suitcase, I just switch to the next size down, unless I'm planning on purchasing items at my destination that I'll want to bring home in my suitcase.
I collected so many beautiful makeup bags during the years! But when I finded realy useful clear ones, I started only using them for travelling.) All my collection are dusty in the corner now ).
... buy 3 minis at Benefit in Boots for £25 and you always get a clear make up bag free 😎 my choice Mini Dandelion Twinkle, Mini Hula and Mini Rollerlash 😃😃
I go to my Sisley counter and ask for sample sachets of Black Rose mask. This is great as it does not need removing. Just a quick wipe with a pad. Stops you looking like Hanibal Lector with the paper ones. I like to wear blue (with orange) and black lipstick so I take a navy blue lip liner which I use on my eyes too. I find these lipsticks colours make you look as if you have a full face on (eyes hidden by sunglasses) and smart even tho I am not wearing any other makeup.
You are sooo right !!! I also never check in my cosmetics and toiletries . I also pack an extra outfit in my carry on. Target in the US make some great bags especially the sonia kashuk ones . I paid a premium and bought PurseN because of the TH-cam hype that’s over $100 . They are good but not worth the price
I find I really need to edit edit edit what I take along on a trip. I always overpack. However I love clear plastic zip bags. It's so easy to line them up on the counter and see what you have or need. It also helps to group things together - skin care, makeup, haircare. I have so many freebie cosmetic bags I've lost count. Not nearly as elegant as yours.
Almost every time I've flown long haul from London Heathrow now makes you decant it all into a tiny clear plastic bag with a seal before you go through security. A few times now, they only give you one clear bag and you have to ensure it seals properly, otherwise you have to put it into your checked in luggage or chuck it! Madness!
Great info Nadine (as usual). Here is good link to clear up any confusion (as noted by some of the comments): www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/liquids-rule My personal experience--use a 1 quart freezer bag for your carry-on liquids, as they are generally leak-proof, which trumps any attractive bag with a zipper. You never know when something will leak (due to the pressure when flying), and it is nice to just rise/wipe your items, and toss the bag when it happens. (I always travel with a few empty zip-top baggies just in case.)
I travel about 6 times a year but I haven't managed to master how to pack light yet! no problem with packing less clothes but whatever skincare I use has to come with me and I don't like decanting
Same! I go back packing for 2 months every winter and my toiletries take up as much room in my pack as my clothes... it's so hard! I feel like my hair and skin needs more looking after while i'm travelling so i need ALL of the things.
Thanks for a great video. Can you recommend an insect repellent for travel that is effective but not harmful to the skin? Deet is rather harsh and I worry it's damaging to the skin. Thanks x
Buy wrist bands sprayed with it? Also increase your vitamin B. Try making your own bug spray with lemon, lavendar, rosemary, geranium oils in base of rubbing alcohol + distilled water?
Permethrin for spraying on clothing and DEET for mosquitos. Malaria is a terrible disease you don't want. Mosquitos carry countless other serious diseases. Don't mess around.
THAT TOO! Add in those products and you may as well stay home. I have a friend like that whose hair just falls into place without any styling products. I just look at her and shake my head.
Didn't understand this one. There are so many good cheapies out there that do the job quite well. Doesn't have to be MAC or SpaceNK. Travel all the time, and although it takes some thinking about what I can't be without, my cheapies have done the job for years.
Marks & Sparks do great clear makeup bags too. Great video thanks

I love your energy, Nadine. I am sure I have amazing skin by the end of the year with all of your amazing advices and tips. Thank you!

Your travel related videos have been so helpful and inspiring for me this summer. Thank you. #goals
Going to switch my printed bags out for clear before my next trip. Thanks for the great idea.
As always a great video.. I love packing efficiently for a trip.. I also use packing zip cases for my clothes, keeps things all folded and organised.. lots of love xx
I wish I had this video two weeks ago! But now I'll be ready for the next trip. Thank you for doing this video!
Muji makes a great quality and value clear cases.

Ive go the M&S ones. Really good value and well made.
keepfitgirl thanks for the tip.. Will take a look at m & S ones xx
Could you do a video on how you prep your face/skin when you are flying, both pre/under/after flight.
Elemis did a great dupe/copy of the Anya one a few years ago. Has two compartments just like hers and came with lots of travel sizes. Love it & use it whenever I travel xx

Carol Melancon Ooh, thanks, great tip!

Ryman’s do fantastic heavy duty zip up bags in different sizes - see through and affordable.
"I'm the Lisa Rena of the group" made me LOL. You're priceless.
Nailed it again Madame. Superb tips at a cracking pace. You deserve 7 million subscribers! Hope you're having a great summer - enjoy : - )
i'm traveling in like 3 days so this video came at a perfect time! thanks, nadine!

I’m also the Lisa Rinna of the group!! 😂😂 I’ve used see through bags full of minis for a while now, they’re fantastic!
Great tips thanx for Simplifying 😀🌞

I think you need to curate a travel beauty bag. Your video is full of brilliant ideas!
Hi Nadine :-) Can you please do a video of the best products for pigmentation?? Please!!
Thank god im not the only one sweating my skin off AND going through hot flushes!❤️

Very cheap and cheerful but I've had no spillage or leaks are the packs from Poundland. Spritzer, bottles, tiny pots. Come in a clear plastic bag too.
Where do you go for the bio-identical hormone therapy? I wasn’t aware you could be prescribed those in the UK?
Be careful what you wish for. Nearly killed me. x
You just have the nicest personality! Love your videos :)
The Lisa Rinna reference was hilarious 😂

AgentM Yup, Heathrow is a bugger for that.
And the bags are such poor quality they split all the time. I had to throw out some stuff last time, it was agony 😭
Great info Nadine (as usual).

I have a thing for clear cosmetic bags, I love MAC ones ❤️
Nadine I wish I was you, you are so organised 😩
What nail paint are you wearing Nadine, its lovely !!
Nadine, you need to try Face Halo microfibre pads and Primark do great mits.
Do tinted moisturisers with spf completely protect you from the sun or should you use a facial spf underneath?
Boots!!!! They do brilliant ones in packs of 3 for £15
I travel about 6 times a year but I haven't managed to master how to pack light yet! no problem with packing less clothes but whatever skincare I use has to come with me and I don't like decanting

I would happily hunt if it was in the Chanel bag 🖤😊🤔
Ziplock bags can work in a pinch too!
I love the Lisa Rinna reference 😂 #rhobh ❤❤
Have you tested emme diane?
I too am the one with all the over the counter "just in case" meds. Just wondering, what are plasters?
Anita Hadley I assume its bandaid.😊
Anita Hadley band aid if you're from the US
Anita Hadley Hi plasters are bandaids.
Thanks!
Yes plasters are band aids, I'm allergic to plasters and when I moved the the US and told my doctor they looked very confused haha

Many people say spray deet on your clothes not your skin

True. It works well, and mosquitoes are as big as dogs in Canada so it has to be good :-D
Mrs. White's insect repellent (available at Victoria Health) is excellent.
Permethrin for spraying on clothing and DEET for mosquitos. Malaria is a terrible disease you don't want. Mosquitos carry countless other serious diseases. Don't mess around.
Is the white bear in the background a Bearbrick?
He is a Qee Bear from Tokyo - you can get them online - he was a gift years ago ... they are collectibles that you decorate yourself X
Thanks for replying Nadine - you are
the best! xx
I have curly hair. The amount of products I need is ridiculous.
MagaliSurLaMer I agree it's a nightmare! I dread a weeks holiday just in case I don't have enough hair creme 😁
Jade Eliza No one knows the struggle! 😂
I have bad skin also, Its just the same. Oh the horror. I envy those who can use hotel stuff...!
THAT TOO! Add in those products and you may as well stay home. I have a friend like that whose hair just falls into place without any styling products. I just look at her and shake my head.
I always got told pack clean knickers and a bikini 😂

To be fair she gave a range of options and mentioned the budget amazon ones - some people like luxury and that’s fine!
lol I just use regular ziplocs
Muji best plastic bags
