One of the things we all enjoy about you is that you’re real - who you are in TH-cam is who you are in life. I’m glad you don’t waiver from that. It makes you different and more relatable than others on TH-cam. It’s one of the reasons I watch your videos! It’s like getting advice from a friend, doable, real-life advice.
Give yourself grace, time, and permission to be in this season of healing as a family and caring for your Dad. That is real and needed. Prayers for everyone. ♥️
Jennifer I love your sweet, calming spirit and the fact that you can have grace for yourself in this difficult season you are in. It’s a good reminder to us to all to be flexible and not expect perfection from ourselves. I know your fall wardrobe will come together beautifully! ✨💕
Even the way you handle tragedy is done with elegance and grace. You are such a great example to other women on how to handle yourself through times of dispair. Thank you Jennifer!
Your elegance, cozy, and whimsical are fabulous descriptive words of your wardrobe; we need a little whimsical in the challenges of life. My health challenges have dictated my lifestyle and wardrobe; I’ve had undiagnosed Lyme disease for 25 years and now 3 years later, my excellent doctor thinks I have a multiplicity of parathyroid issues. All this to say, I wear high quality denim skirts year round with a variety of tops, shirts, vests, and accessories. This simplicity keeps my energy on our large family; the Lord allows me to have super healthy babies and ability to nurse them so I’m very thankful for this. I like a Ralph Lauren refined casual look with a RL feminine, refined dress for church, weddings and dress up occasions. The look lasts for decades and I can make little updates as needed. This simplified wardrobe has been a God send in a rollercoaster life of ongoing health challenges. I highly recommend this core wardrobe lifestyle. All the best ladies, Julie 🌷
Jennifer, I love your usually more organized ten item wardrobe talk through videos, but I love this one too! Especially the 1st part where you said in real life things happen, and we still want to show up and dress up. Thank you!

Thank you very kindly Jennifer. I am sorry I can hear the discouragement in your voice. Take heart I will be praying for you and your family continually. I want you to know I used your link and your discount and I’m delighted with my customer service experience. Thank you again! Be well.
Jennifer, you were right where you needed to be this summer supporting and being there for your family. It’s OK that things are a little disorganized I’m sure in time they will sort themselves out. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos!
I have been following The Ten Item wardrobe for just over 51/2 years. It has been Perfect for me. I veered off once, and became unhappy, and went right back to it, it was easy! I describe my style as elegant whimsey, so was happy you talked about this in your video. Take care.
Jennifer, you're such a wonderful example of poise, elegance and civility in a world that I sometimes don't recognize anymore. It's so nice to feel that I have a kindred spirit who also prioritizes good manners, dressing well and living an elegant life at home. I'm a preschool teacher and my job is very active and sometimes messy, but I unapologetically wear my nice dresses or jeans and cashmere sweaters. It just takes a little extra care, but feeling polished every day is worth it. I'm always getting (nice) comments from other teachers on how "fancy" I look. I don't judge what anyone chooses to wear, but I often wonder if those teachers would feel even better if they traded in the exercise clothes they wear to work for a nice pair of jeans, tucked-in t-shirt and scarf. Not only simple and inexpensive, but that little effort definitely looks more professional. Prayers to you dad for his continued recovery.💕
Lovely video. This conversational style really highlights one of the strengths of the 10 item wardrobe: lifestyle flexibility. One can be pregnant, starting a new job, in a time of bereavement, or daily home renovations and the 10 item wardrobe continues to adapt. It’s wonderful! Prayers for rejuvenation to you and your family, Jennifer. It’s been a very difficult summer for you all. 💜
Grief is a very disorganising experience take care as you adjust. It seems you are sharing your experience in a generous way. Thanks Look forward to seeing the new pieces.
Jennifer, I really enjoyed this new 10 item wardrobe update video and the fact that you are taking your time to curate your pieces. I'm of the same philosophy that I don't like being rushed so, this approach seems more thoughtful, intentional and relaxed. You always look elegant and beautiful. I look forward to seeing your new pieces in future videos. Prayers and love for you and your family

It helps to remember God has good plans for us, to give us the beautiful future we are hoping for. Thanks to your encouragement, I trained myself to do my hair, makeup and wardrobe even when I couldn't see because you are right....even life is hard, it's still a great discipline and example to look presentable always! I love you Jennifer ❤
We all love you and feel you're pain....its not always easy getting thru loss...you don't have to be brave, just take it day by day.You are so amazing.😉
As you talked about pressing and putting away, I was reminded of what my mother did with her tablecloths. She removed any stains, laundered them, then folded any put them away. I asked her why she didn’t iron them. She replied that she’d have to iron them anyway when she took them out to use, so that saved her a step.
The fact that you filmed a vlog while you're going through this incredibly rough time of your dad's accident and your father in laws passing...shows how STRONG you are! You're still so very poised and calm and that shows that you really do follow your own advise to stay classy. I really respect that about you am constantly trying to apply these traits in my life. Thank you for being such a great role model in today's crazy and sad to say, depraved world. Your children will be the leaders who will veer us back to a more sane and moral country.
Thank you for being so honest. You are a genuine person dealing with the same challenges we're all dealing with. You are amazingly vulnerable for being so transparent with us. Thank you, friend.
I am also struggling right now and I appreciate you taking the time to post this video and to talk about doing things that bring you comfort. I need to work on that.
I love this more casual, intimate style of video, Jennifer! No complaints from me either way! Your fashion show videos are of course extremely fun, but chatting your way through it with us is pleasant. Thanks as always for taking us along! xoxo
Really appreciated how you casually talked through your items and were comfortable with wardrobes being in process. Continuing prayers for you and your family.
I've enjoyed your videos for a while now. I really like how you calmly explain what is graceful, charming, and elegant about the way we look or act. I wonder if you might share with us how to have an elegant looking home?
Hello Jennifer, I always enjoyed your seasonal ten item wardrobe videos and will miss them as they are always an inspiration to me. But I understand that you are in a different season of life right now. Continued prayers for you and your family. Lot`s of love from Switzerland, Miriam
My friend I just came out of (not totally but mostly) crazy period in my life when I could not think. I found during that time I relied heavily on basic, simple and styles that made me feel good. I did wear those items out. But that was all I could do to manage. Like you said, and "that is okay."
Your Lovely first book Madam Chic came with me to France for my annual 3 week Family holiday. I loved it and highly recommend reading it at any age. Lovely real video. Wishing you all the best and love 💕
Oh, Jennifer. We all look to you as a friend as well as a role model. You have had a very difficult summer, and your transparency and bravery is something to admire, as well as your effortless style. Thank you for remaining calm and classy, as always. We love your content, in whatever capacity you feel ready to share!
Thank you for discussing this important issue of carrying on while caring for a sick relative. I am caring for my ill husband. It’s hard to be normal. It’s so important to keep a normal routine as much as possible.
My mom was seriously ill the last 4 years of her life and 20 years ago, my father suffered serious health issues for 10 years before he passed when I was still relatively young. I learned early that my routines and normal tasks gave my mind a much needed break. Having periods where you are only thinking of the routine and nothing else provides calm and healing. My best to you and your family.
Thank you for taking the time to show us your process of going from summer to fall. It is a good reminder to examine the clothing you are putting away for the fall/winter. It saves a lot of heartache later when you come back to these items and see they are ready to be worn. Jennifer, I am glad you are home safely. Rest your body and your soul in familiar surrounds for the grieving process does take a long time and should not be hurried. You have many followers who truly understand your loss. 🙏
My deepest condolences Jennifer. I was very confused with pain when I lost my mom. Yes and still miss her so much. I can empathize with your feelings. Thank you this is my favorite time of year as well Blessings to you and your family
Bless you Jennifer for sharing your life with us and how this season of tragedy impacts everyday life. I really needed to see this as around the time you were in England, I lost my big cousin to cancer very suddenly. She lived in Florida with her little family and was rushed back here to Melbourne, Australia. Plus I accepted a role in a community musical in the thick of it, which has been a saving grace. Similar things happening, just reverse seasons! So a slow spring clean here. And started the swap around of wardrobe items. Patience is a virtue. All the best, thanks again for sharing! 🌸💕
Good morning Jennifer. You've made some excellent choices for curating your Autumn wardrobe. Isn't it nice that Autumn's here - the beginning of what's often known as "dressing weather?" Thank you for sharing. 😎😎
Thank you for making the video. I always look forward to watching them. You seem like you are really hurting right now and my heart aches for you. I love you and will be praying for you and your family. God bless.
I understand exactly what you mean about “new reality”, and how that impacts everything about life. Both of my parents died last Autumn, and I have yet to figure out how to recover organization, preparedness, and even my cleaning schedule. I have appreciated your videos for so many years for different reasons based on my current season in life. For this season, I’ve been so grateful to escape, if you will, and just let my mind settle, and my heart rest here. You and your videos are very soothing and peaceful, whether you’re talking about deodorant or clothes, or intermittent fasting, etc. Thank you for being a constant in my ever-changing world. ❤️ I pray that you are able to find moments of solace and escape as well, whether in Jesus, our Savior, or in others’ videos. ❤️
I completely relate to this comment and I want you to know that your experience is normal. I've had several seasons of grief and chaos in my life. Despite all the wonderful wisdom on TH-cam and other mediums, I just simply am not someone who can snap their fingers and recover quickly. Now, in my 50's, I am much better at just being compassionate and patient with myself. I've realized that if all I can do is focus on a few high priorities, like health, sleep, family relationships, that's okay. Blessings and prayers to you. We will be okay.🙏♥️🇨🇦
@@amandazplace5663 Thank you so much for sharing such precious words with me. This is my first true experience with grief. My parents were taken in a tragic car accident, so I've had to deal with processing a tragic grief. I can't imagine ever returning to how I used to be, because I am literally a changed person. I entered my 50's last year, but some days, due to grief, I feel much older. But I am emboldened to be compassionate and patient with myself, and focus on the high priorities that you mentioned. Thank you for sharing Wisdom with me, and for your blessings and prayers. I stand in agreement with your words...we will okay. Many blessings back to you across the border.
@@Gate24Travel hugs and prayers, dear. Hugs and prayers. We can catch up on housework, our capsule wardrobe, our hobbies. We cannot so easily "catch up" on our health, if that is neglected. Take care♥️ Take special care, dear♥️🇨🇦
This was a refreshing change. I feel like I’ve been through so many life changes, I can never nail down any specific routine or system to keep myself from decision fatigue. While I might not Totally understand what you’re feeling, I can sympathize on how those challenges take away stability
*as I feel like I’ve been at the point for awhile now. Your videos have always been encouraging and at least gave me ideas even if I haven’t been able to implement in my own situation. Keeping you in my thoughts and looking forward to your next video
I haven't gotten to a true 10 item wardrobe yet, but I have made great progress over the last few years. This process has shown me I can be happy with a lot less in the closet, that one or two new pieces, carefully chosen, can have a big impact and less has allowed my true style to come through. Thank you, Jennifer!
It’s so lovely to have you back. I’m sorry you are going through tough season. I hope having your favourite pieces will bring you some comfort. I know Some clothes- especially cosy jumpers do that for me. Sending lots of love from 🇬🇧
I find myself going to the daily connoiseur channel when I feel restless. The brilliant lady never fails to remind me to always keep calm and remain classy. I love your work Jennifer. Hope you and your family are well. Love from Belgium.
It would also be interesting to hear how you choose your wristwatches, as they too are a key component of elegant style. Wishing you a cozy fall/winter season!
Thank you for showing us the real side of your life. It is a form of comfort to see what is true for you right now. Just as you said "life doesn't always need to be so serious", I'll add that life doesn't always need to be so perfect. We all desire perfection, but life just isn't. Your put-together, dare I say, "perfect" planned out and curated wardrobe videos are always so encouraging, and feel like a little shot to get me going as well. But, this was comforting and calming to see that when life just isn't what we want it to be, we can be gentle with ourselves, live in our reality and walk realistically and gracefully in whatever season of life we find ourselves. ~ On a personal note, I continue to think of you and your family, and to pray for you. You have been hit hard this summer! May you feel the Lord's love and guidance every step of the way.
Another great vlog. Hang in Jennifer sounds like you are still needing time for your loved ones. We are all still going to be here whenever your vlog comes out. Don't stress.
Jennifer I like that you show as the process of planning and choosing your wardrobe for fall rather than showing end result. It makes sense to me. I think it will help me to plan better and shop more consciously.
Thank for your gentle urging to transition to the fall wardrobe. I was surprised to see that I have so many gaps for fall. It was sad to put away summer favorites and I’m hoping to find new favorites.
Dearest Jennifer thank you for this video and all you do on your channel. May you be well May you be happy May you comfortable and at peace during this time 🕊
Dear One! Thank you for sharing. Rest and be in your faith that all is well, all is well. You inspire me to live in that faith and alignment. Looking forward to your fall wardrobe.
Jennifer, I so appreciate how genuine you are. Love that you’re taking your time to find just the right pieces for your fall/winter wardrobe, and I think it’s actually even more fun to see your updates as you build your wardrobe over time rather than just one big capsule wardrobe video a season. Give yourself grace as you move through this difficult time, and just take good care of your father and enjoy your family. ❤️❤️❤️
This was so helpful! Showing your thought process behind your choices and how your get to the final capsule. Looking forward to seeing more!!! Hope things quiet down soon for your family.
One of the things I appreciate is your honesty and that you are confident enough to make decisions based on what's best for you, and what feels right to you. I have to admit that the ten-item capsule wardrobe is a very new concept for me and I have a lot to learn about it before I embrace it. But one of my goals for the next few years is to adopt "a personal" minimalism and simplify my home, my wardrobe, and my life. So, I expect I'll be studying your ten-item capsule wardrobe videos in the near future as I move to create order and tranquility in my life. Right now, I'm focusing on intermittent fasting, and am relying a lot on your videos about that. Thank you for your playlists! They make it all so much easier. Sending prayers and wishing you peace in this difficult time.
It seems many of us are dealing with new realities which aren't necessarily positive or happy. Thank you, Jennifer, for being a wonderful example of how to move through the difficult times with grace. God bless you and your family, and sending much love.
Jennifer, I'm so glad you brought up going through things in life. My family is going through a really rough time right now because my husband is from Ukraine and our hearts are crushed by what has happened there. I don't want to say any more than this because war is not an elegant topic. However, I hope you will pray for my husband. He is not the same person and I'm not sure that will ever change. The Ukrainian culture is so rich and beautiful and his family has taught me to cook several traditional dishes and I've learned several songs. They totally welcomed me into their extended family when we married and they are so supportive. My husband's name is Gennadiy (GEN nah dee). Thank you for your prayers.
I enjoy your taste in dresses. So beautiful. Yesterday I completed the mending for my wardrobe (a shirt sleeve hem and adjusting thick spaghetti straps on my favorite summer dress so they wouldn’t fall off my shoulders). Mending is so important for clothes you want to keep. I have all four seasons of clothes hanging in my closet because I don’t like to fold and then have to re-iron out of season clothes. I’ve decided to work on intermittent fasting so I’ll see how that goes. So far I’ve realized I can’t stop eating at 7pm and then go to bed at 3am and not grab something more to eat. I’m retired so my time is flexible but if I’m going to commit to intermittent fasting I’ll have to go to bed earlier.
Hi Jennifer! What a thoughtful, warm video. So you. :) I am excited to see your fall choices and I truly hope you have fun selecting and sharing your wardrobe with us. Take care and see you tomorrow! Love, Kellie
I am sending up a prayer for you as you cope with two tragedies so close together. Thank you for being real about what is happening in your life and not just glossing over it to look good in TH-cam. We all go through seasons that are more difficult than others and I'm sure your honesty will minister to your viewers.
Praying for you in this time of grief, thank you for honesty and elegance. For myself in North Carolina where each month can be its own season 😂 i 'shop' or curate from my items 10-15 items each month. Often some items cross over and repeat some months... but it's worked so far. Like now it's short sleeve shirts and dresses (because still 80 degrees) but fall colors with light weight cardigan. October is usually cooler so adding longer sleeves etc. monthly has worked for me so far
I really enjoyed this video format, Jennifer! I love when you model your thought process, letting us know when a piece is donated bc it wore out; you just want a break; you decided it’s not your style, etc. I love the old video where you went through your bin on the floor of your daughters room & made a shopping list & then later took us shopping in another video. I think of those videos when I’m thing to reign in my shopping; bc I’m a more is great kind of girl🙃.
I enjoyed this video Jennifer. I look forward to your wardrobe transition videos and keeping it real was a nice change. You had such a difficult summer. I continue to hold you and your family in my heart.
It was so peaceful and yet energetic for me...gave me some things to consider...thank you for sharing and bringing us along...hope the rest of your week/weekend is full of blessings with lots of joy and rest!!!!!!!
Thank you Jennifer, your new season videos are always a highlight. Here's to you doing what feels right for you at this moment. Warmest wishes from Cambridge UK
My best friend, Neil, bought me Lessons from Madame Chic as a thank you for feeding his cat while he was on holiday! I loved it. I’ve actually got my autumn and winter outfits planned! I would have thought it vain to spend the time to do this before I found you and others on TH-cam. Now I can’t believe how easy it is to dress every day, and dress well! I hope we’re still going to be able to see you in the clothes because otherwise it’s hard to know what they’re really like, just seeing them on hangers. I’m not down to ten core items, but I do have a curated and planned wardrobe now - and I love it! Thank you so much! I also love you talking about mending. It’s so important in this throwaway culture.
Absolutely love your "realness"!!! Sadly, so much happens all the time in life . . . expected and unexpected losses, illness, accidents, just stress, stress, stress! Yet, there YOU are, lifting us up with your grace and courage. I, too, even in a mess, find order and organization comforting. As you do for your family and your viewiers , take care of yourself!!! Love ya!
As much as I have enjoyed all your videos over the years, it's hard to see you in pain, but at the same time, I'm impressed that I still get such a powerful boost of energy and strength for living my best life in Christ as a mother and wife and home maker, just by your presence on the video here, the same as in all your other videos where you are full of gladness. And it's so good to see an example of how to continue in fruitful labor, through times of grieving, and suffering with poise and sincerity. Thank you for your wonderful example! I really really really look forward to your every video and am always helped to be my best and so often shaken out of discouragement through your videos. Thank you so much! I always tell people to watch them!
Very nice video Jennnifer. We are starting to feel the cold weather here in the Rockies. Our hottest month is July and then in September it really starts to cool down here. I'm going to start switching out my seasonal wardrobe this weekend but it can be challenging making decisions on clothing between seasons as the temperature seems to go up and down a lot here, one day it is a scorcher and the next day it is freezing or could snow. I feel you about getting off track, and life circumstances with caring for a parent did that to me as well. I spent the entire year of 2018 away from my family and life in Colorado when I needed to move out of state and back to California to care for my mother with dementia. A lot of mess and stress that was. It is a hard season we go through when that happens. Take care.
Oh good, I'm glad I wasn't the only one dreaming of sweaters and boots when it was 100°+ last week! I really enjoy the content concerning the 10-item wardrobe. I'm having fun with it in my closet, shopping sustainably, saving $$ and time. Hope your fall is far more peaceful than your summer horribilis.
Jennifer, you have been amazing through this summer and am grateful for whenever you are able to reach out to us. Thank you for the fall wardrobe update! I'm not at ten items but am definitely on my way there!
Hi Jennifer, I am a long time viewer and I really enjoyed this video as it was very realistic and I appreciate that. I’m sorry you and your family are going through a hard time right now. I myself have been dealing with health issues for the past few years to the point where it can be quite a physical challenge just to switch my clothes out for the changing seasons so what you said in the beginning of your video resonated with me. Even if I was not able to relate in this way I still would have found this video helpful as I really enjoy seeing the behind the scenes realistic process of cultivating a seasonal wardrobe. I’m looking forward to seeing your new pieces once they arrive. ❤️❤️❤️
So glad you are well and getting back to daily living, albeit it takes a while to fully get back to normal (whatever normal is.). I love the structure I get when you do anything, like the wardrobe for fall. It gets me going and start going through my closet. You get things done and influence others to do the same. Thanks Jen!
I loved this video! It felt genuine and do-able. I left feeling like I could follow this process in my own wardrobe. Sometimes it’s defeating when I see others with their wardrobe already completely planned out and purchased before August is over! I get discouraged and think I can’t do that, so why bother? But this! Very helpful. Thank you!!

I echo this entire sentiment! So refreshing to watch someone so authentic. 💛

I like that you're being honest and taking your time. I would still like the "fashion roll" when you have finalized your Fall wardrobe 😊
I've enjoyed your videos for a while now. I really like how you calmly explain what is graceful, charming, and elegant about the way we look or act. I wonder if you might share with us how to have an elegant looking home?
Good advice don’t pressure yourself to be perfect!
God bless.
Sending grandmother hugs and good wishes for you and your family.
Thank you for taking us along as you put the pieces back together Jennifer. I send my love and hope for brighter months ahead 💓
You have a beautiful voice! Thanks for sharing your life with us. God bless you!
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you and your family are doing OK. Gentle hugs. Praying and love. God loves you.
Hugs for you😢
@@denisebiendarra5996 Thank you so much. ❤️
Sending lots of love from 🇬🇧
Please take your time! Hugs and Prayers to your family!
This was great, Jennifer! And felt a lot more real.
This was fun to see your process! I would love to see that jumpsuit on you when it comes.
I adore your black shorts and top. So pretty!
Jennifer, wishing you healing during these difficult times 💕 You still remain a class act even when life is happening to you
I needed this. I send you a hug in these difficult times you are going through 💜
One of the things I appreciate is your honesty and that you are confident enough to make decisions based on what's best for you, and what feels right to you.
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. The more you’ve gone through hardships, the stronger you become.
It seems many of us are dealing with new realities which aren't necessarily positive or happy. Thank you, Jennifer, for being a wonderful example of how to move through the difficult times with grace. God bless you and your family, and sending much love.
Your wardrobe is so pretty! I just love your style. I'm praying for your family. God bless you.
While war is not an “elegant” topic, it’s a very realistic one considering our world’s situation. It can help to share. Hope things get better for you
Our hearts are with you, Regina ♥️
Loved this video style. You were casual but still respectful of the viewer’s time. ❤️
Hi Jennifer , As always a great video on transitioning to the next season which is Fall. Thank you for sharing the brands you use so elegant.
Hi Jennifer! What a thoughtful, warm video. So you. :) I am excited to see your fall choices and I truly hope you have fun selecting and sharing your wardrobe with us. Take care and see you tomorrow! Love, Kellie
Glad to see you back, Jennifer, but don't push it. If you need more time, take more time. We'll wait.
I like this new, real life approach a lot. Thanks for doing it.
Why did you find it vain?
@@21972012145525 I mean spending time on myself and how I look.
I love that your best friend gifted you the book ♥️
Thank you so much, Angela ♥️
The 10 item wardrobe is so fun to curate, especially the one for fall! It’s my favorite season! 😊
Hello Jennifer, i am keeping u in my thoughts and prayers. What a trial u and Ben experienced. I actually loved this wardrobe walkthrough!
Prayers for you and your family♥️
Take care.
Great video, Jennifer. I still can’t pin down a style. But I keep watching you and one day I will get there. Continued prayers for your family.
I’m new to your channel. So glad to learn you’re based in California as I appreciate the climate aspect when it comes to wardrobe.
So glad you are back! Thank you, i enjoyed this very much.
Thank you!!
Excited to watch.. already sent you a thumbs up.. thanks for posting… getting ready to watch now!
I appreciate you Jennifer! Thank you for being so real. Love these seasonal videos! My three words are: practical, whimsical and seasonal!
Thanks Jennifer. Appreciate the real life approach
