As a native Minnesotan, I can assuredly state that the best popcorn is from Candyland in Saint Paul. They invented the "Chicago Mix" (odd yes, that they named it Chicago mix) which is caramel, cheese and plain popcorn mixed together. The name was so popular that Garrett's in Chicago began using the name, and Candyland sued them because they had the trademark.
My husband's favorite mix of all time is the cheddar cheese and caramel and butter flavors. Ever see the movie Red2? Where the young woman wanders around the wear house store eating this popcorn from what can only be described as a king sized pillow bag? That's the one he buys himself every time we go. 😂 But for $6.97 usd a king sized pillow case full can ya blame him 🤣. Me I'd rather pull the old battered whirly-pop out and just make it smothered in hot butter! Lol. What? There's no better a way to go than a butter coma right? 😊🍿🧈
Love watching Callyann trying new things that she likes, it's like watching a newborn reacting to something for the first time, full of excitement and joy !
Including the sender's note to share with everyone is always nice. Good pairs and variety of reactions -and I'm down for the genius of coffee toffee corn any time!
3:24 - Paddy, my father had a saying. When someone said their farts smelled like roses, he'd say, "That's not the roses. That's the fertilizer on them." He was never wrong.
For us Dew-heads, it's not about the flavor, it's about the sensation of that first big gulp of Dew as it burns the throat on the way down. DO THE DEW! RAH! RADICAL!
Every decade or so, I try it again. I love citrus flavors, so the alleged lemon-lime flavor draws me in. Then the first sip reminds me why I haven't had it for so long.
Just a heads up, The banana candy flavor IS the original flavor of the first mass imported bananas. The strain was the Gros Michael or "Big Mike" banana, the plants got hit by a disease and it wiped out most of the crop and the current banana the Cavendish has a different flavor. You can still obtain Gros Michael but they're very specialty and usually run about 5-10 dollars US per banana.
HR Poppin' Snacks is from Gibbon, Nebraska, not Minnesota. And as for coffee flavor, I do believe they make a Caramel Cappuccino flavor. My wife's family is from Shelton (the next town over from Gibbon) we've gotten several bags of their popcorn for Christmas over the years from them.
Yes indeed, CallyAnn! Very kind of you to offer to fly to Minnesota and tell them, “Well done.” I always appreciate you being encouraging to others, young lady. 👏🏼
God, it's so cool to see Laura again, and to pair her with Taran is gold! Callyann and Blaithin is also perfect, because Cally is perpetually sunny and happy, while Blaith is brutally honest and to the point....love 'em both. Anytime Nicole is on a video she's like a pleasant dose of sweets, and Paddy is just good ole' Paddy (the male version of Callyann).
As someone who has a crippling addiction to Mtn Dew (seriously it's a problem, send help) I'm intrigued by the idea of popcornifying it, but at the same time _JESUS NO WHY_
The Callyann and Bláithín outro gave me "Irish Daphne and Velma" vibes. Paddy could be Fred. I can't think of a good Shaggy, but I bet Dermot could pull off Scooby-Doo.
If there are any gifted animation artists in the audience, I would simply love to see these fantastic Irish Tryers to be recreated in an animated video. Especially the Lady Tryers! Maybe Colin and Sean should ask the Tryers to draw themselves in an anime style when they're locked! An animated Nicole would be more popular than Hello Kitty!
Love the Try channel, always very funny, interesting and has nice people who seem to get along. Also my 5 year old grandson Logan has a crush on Callieanne and Laura because "They have funny laughs and are always happy".
Sometime they should try the true Original mountain dew, which wasn't the soda. (for those that don't know, mountain dew first refered to moonshine made in the mountains of the Southern U.S. before being used as a name for a cocktail mixer/soda).
Oddly, there have been a few. They had Pearson’s candy, Minnesota craft beer and Keeper’s Heart whiskey. I don’t think they liked the candy or beer, but the whiskey did well.
@@squidundertheinfluence I haven't seen that Whiskey, but for Minnesota locals, Brother Justus has a decent Single Malt whiskey that is in a cool bottle. Not sure if it's worth the $60-$65 tag, but it does make for a neat little gift. I''ll have to try the other Minnesota Whiskeys.
A NYC friend of mine used to insist, every time we were watching a movie in Manhattan, on getting some chocolate peanut butter drizzle corn that she always raved about (and Rosie O'Donnell did too) but I still didn't believe her... then one night I tried it it was amazing! And they had several different flavors. It was called "Dale and Thomas drizzle corn" and they don't exist anymore ...and I don't know why! 😪
The weird thing about the Dew popcorn being that green is that only the Mountain Dew bottles are actually that green, which is something I sometimes forget since I seldom pour the soda into a glass. But the actual soda itself, while still kind of green, has a much more yellow tint to it.
This is my family's Popcorn shop Hr poppin snack.. it is located actually in Gibbon Nebraska. If you would like we have over a 100 different flavors to choose from..😊
There are 2 Mountain Dew at least here in Eastern Canada as I often travle to USA but the flavor of Canada Mountain Dew vs USA Mountain Dew are 2 different formulas
Most of the kids of today have no idea what Mt. Dew used to taste like before they stated making it with corn syrup . Fortunately they have brought back Dew made with Real Sugar , when you can find it .
The US mtn dew is considered an energy drink to almost every other country. Every country limits the amount of caffeine, sugar, and dyes. Not the American philosophy, it's the more the merrier
You should try snacks kids put together like peanuts in Dr. Pepper, using twizzlers as straws, a peppermint stick in a big dill pickle, dry kool-aid with sugar in a big dill pickle, cooked macaroni with sugar and ketchup, mustard sandwiches, ketchup sandwiches, banana and mayonnaise sandwiches, candy corn and Granny Smith apples, pretzel rods in soda, etc., etc., etc..
Very interesting. I live only a few miles from the very store where they got these. While I would say that they ARE from Minnesota, I don't know if I would call them "Minnesota Popcorn" because it's not like the local eat these. But it is a hell of a store. I will say that. But hey, we'd love to have the Try Crew here for a visit. I do believe you were here in Minneapolis before, so the candy store is just in the SW suburbs. Cheers.
I’m kind of wishing they had done a franken popcorn bowl. That might just be the Midwest in me though. 😛 whenever there wasn’t enough of any particular flavor, just add it to the next!
I'm rather vanilla about popcorn. I prefer cheesy popcorn. A nice sharp cheddar, a cheddar jalapeno, there a nice black cherry (its too sweet, but still good), 🤣 We have one that is a chocolate covered espresso bean, its a bit confusing...
OMG - Nicole, you're a GENIUS!!! YES - Coffee-Toffee (& possibly, with the added in Choco Crumble?) Popcorn SHOULD be a flavor, and it will be THE BEST one, for sure!!! Some awesome small company better make this, ASAP, before the idea gets ruined by a big corporation.
Anyone else notice that Blaithin's top was exactly the same shade as the Mountain Dew popcorn? Also, what you do with the overly sweet popcorn flavors is mix them with plain popcorn for balance.
When she flung the popcorn piece onto the floor with a half hearted attempt to stop it I thought, " well this isn't the succeed channel, it's the try channel"

Yes, and their Chicago mix is the best I’ve tasted out of several other brand attempts at the flavor combo.

Caramel Latte is a flavor of popcorn I've seen while at Buc-cees, so it must be out there!
Okay but... They have to call it Coffee Toffee Poppee, or don't bother at all.
3:24 - Paddy, my father had a saying. When someone said their farts smelled like roses, he'd say, "That's not the roses. That's the fertilizer on them." He was never wrong.
The dew segment reminded me of Danny Kaye in "Court Jester", get it, got it, good.
It's an American who has drank mountain dew I would never ever say that it tasted like lemon lime.
It just tasted like chemicals. 😂😂
"To be clear: This isn't good, but I like it." Bláithín encapsulates the history of Mountain Dew.

Paddy commenting that he doesn’t care for the Dew popcorn, as he continues to snack away on it. 😂
That's how Paddy rolls.
Maybe the Dew popcorn needs some Pop Rocks mixed in.
❤ I just love you all so much! Thank you for the fun and happiness! ❤
You can tell the order of filming from the popcorn level of the bag 😂
We have this in Nebraska. There are SO MANY FLAVORS. I love the Jerk Chicken one. Smores. Spicy Nacho...
They do have wine flavors too.
Yeah, this isn't Minnesota popcorn. This was made in Nebraska. The sender bought it in Minnesota.
Talking about cocktail popcorn, there’s a place here in Lexington, KY that makes bourbon caramel corn… it is so freaking delicious.
Mountain Dew was also originally created as a mixer for whiskey. It later became a popular soda and was marketed as one.
Am I crazy, or is MD supposed to be a grapefruit and lemon flavor as a posed to a lemon and lime flavor
Callyann look lovely and Taran looks Adorable very nice smile and very pretty nails . Glad they liked must of the Minnesota Popcorn Flavors.
Chupa chups also has some rather strange popcorn variants 😄

Actually what you ate originated from a company in Nebraska. HR Poppin' Snacks is in Gibbon, NE. Just if you were curious.
Clearly, they need to try all the flavors of Mountain Dew now.
My offer to adopt Paddy still stands - living parents notwithstanding! He is adorbs!
The fact that Mountain Dew was originally created specifically to be a whiskey mixer will never stop being weird to me.
I think maybe it was created more as a moonshine mixer - think filiing the sharpest edges off of pure grain alcohol
Makes sense to me.Kind of sour
Thanks a lot- now i have to go buy a can, and try it with whiskey...
Im not a fan of the Dew- but i AM a fan of whiskey.
