This made my day! I’m the one who sent in the Maryland snacks. So glad they were well received! 🦀 Edited to add: I did include a pack of Berger Cookies, but they have a really short shelf life (about a month), so I suspect they might have expired by the time they reached the TRYers. Also, I would have loved it if they could have tried a Smith Island cake, but I knew shipping that would have been a disaster. 😅
The other sister (Cathryn) here! So excited to see the video and so glad the TRYers liked everything! Not to get all "uhm, acktually" to all y'all suggesting the Utz crab chips but Utz is actually a Pennsylvania brand :D Maryland represent!
Born and raised in Maryland and I can confirm we are ALL IN on our Old Bay and Blue Crabs!!! You will see our flag and crabs EVERYWHERE here. Clicked on this video SO FAST!! That was a great selection from our state!
No offense but I can't put it more mildly, you should try more veggies and exercise and less snacks. I'm sometimes genuinely bamboozled how Westerners let go themselves to such a life-threatening degree of obesity pretty much in any age goddamnit
Almost. It's the quartered arms of the Calvert and Crossland families. The Crosslands were the family of the mother of the first Lord Baltimore while the Calverts were his father's family.
I want to say thank you for trying some snacks from my state of Maryland. I am from Maryland. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Both Otterbin's and Fishers are 2 of the oldest food companies in Maryland and so is Old Bay seasoning. Marylanders put Old Bay on almost everything. You made me so happy. Thank you. Fishers is a company located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Mostly in Ocean City, Maryland.
I am a Marylander who has recently relocated to England. This video made me happy and homesick at the same time. I have a few cans of old bay in my cubbard here and they sell it at the Costco’s here. It’s great on just regular popcorn. I also put it in my jacket potatoes. I prefer regular caramel Fisher’s popcorn. As one other viewer commented getting it still warm and a little gooey and sitting in the boardwalk, watching the ocean, amazing. You need some Dolle’s salt water Taffy too.
The best Old Bay snack is french fries on the boardwalk covered in Old Bay and malt vinegar. Our Family's favorite Otterbein cookie is the gingersnap, just perfectly crisp and sweet with the kick of ginger.
Let me tell you........being in Ocean City, Md. , sitting on the boardwalk with a tub of Fisher's PLAIN caramel popcorn when it's just fresh made and warm, and sticky and gooey.....is one of life's highlights. There are few things in life that are better than Fisher's when it's fresh and the seagulls are calling, and a soft ocean breeze is blowing. Fisher's the the absolute BEST popcorn anywhere, and they make a LOT of flavors, not just Old Bay, but plain caramel corn....is the best! But where's the Natty Boh???
As a Baltimorean, I'm a little disappointed they didn't include some Crab Chips in the mix. Those chips covered in Old Bay are still one of my favorite snacks of all time. Also, I would highly recommend Old Bay on a variety of different things, including steak. It's amazing!
Old Bay is a MD constant and a box or jar is in EVERY. SINGLE, KITCHEN!! Ithink the popcorn needs more old bay.. a native Marylander. I live in Annapolis MD
The best steamed crab I've ever had was from Baltimore, Maryland. Served to-go (take-out) in a paper grocery sack. Most certainly steamed with Old Bay seasoning. I don't remember the establishment, but there was a line of about 50 people waiting in the alley behind the store to pick up steamed crab. Well worth the wait!
Maryland also has its own weird variety of barbecue: pit beef. If you're ever in or around Baltimore, get some pit beef and wonder why it isn't better known.
@@steveolson4123 I can say, with love in my heart, there is no barbecue north of Chicago or west of Amarillo, for I know the answer to the question "Why not Minot?". (Because it's too f'n cold.)
I lived in Baltimore all my life. Seeing you guys try all these local favorites is so awesome! So glad you enjoyed all the snacks I enjoy myself. Cheers from the 410! Have a good one!
Another Marylander (Baltimore!) here! Otterbein’s cookies are devoured quickly! You need to try Berger Cookies and Old Bay goldfish crackers and some crab cakes! 😘😘
Not nearly enough people know about the glory that is pit beef. Crabcakes understandably overshadow it, but it is still one of the best sandwiches in the history of mankind.

Being from Maryland, I have had all of them except the caramels. Might be a Western Shore thing, but I worked with an Otterbein and she was very sweet. Thanks for the kind words for my state!
According to the constitution of the state of Maryland all citizens must carry a small tin of Old Bay on them at all times. I just wish there was an easy way to get Thrashers fries to the tryers, but there should have been some Candy Kitchen salt water taffy there too.
Old Bay Seasoning has been my go-to for boiling shrimp for many years. (I was born on an island, Galveston, so shrimp is one of my favorite foods.) I keep a container of OBS in my pantry and I have a pound of extra-large shrimp tails in my freezer. Love my shrimp cocktails, when I crave them. 🦐👍
I'm from Northern Virginia which is really close to Maryland - spent my youth going to Ocean City, Maryland. Fisher's Popcorn is a store on the boardwalk that is cooked in front of you rolled in caramel and is amazing. So, while the Fishers is probably OK with the Old Bay, there is nothing like it is fresh!
Eastern Shore of Maryland here also know as the Delmarva Peninsula. We tend to do J.O. seasoning on our steamed crabs and Old Bay on any and everything else you can think of.
Maryland has a very diverse food palette. I have lived in Maryland all my life and never heard of any of these snacks. In Southern Maryland we have a bunch of things the rest of the state probably has never heard of, including stuffed ham, best served with oysters and 10 ounce bud. This was a fun surprise on my feed. Grew up in Maryland. Haven't actually heard of these snacks but will check them out. A big thing here is salt water taffy when you're in ocean city. Also french fries in vinegar, known as boardwalk fries. And we do put old bay on everything.

Also this makes me want to be in Ocean city sitting on the boardwalk eating thrasher with vinegar and oldbay with a tub of Dolles next to me. (Im more of a dolles popcorn then fishers person)
Fisher's popcorn is so good! My favorite is the apple caramel too. Marylanders do go all out with Old Bay, though-I’ve noticed they really pile it on! I live here now but didn’t grow up with it, so I’m not as obsessed with Old Bay as some people are.
Got a kick out of one of their comments regarding the flavored popcorn, “Hmm, it’s not Old Bay, but rather New Inlet!” For these Irish tasters, makes sense to me!
