I'm going to start adding these to the end of my workouts. I'm 46 and joined an MMA gym 3 years ago. Injured my neck a few months ago to the point of feeling it in the nerve of my arm. Getting better but really think I need to strengthen my neck if I'm going to get back in it

Remember doing these during my years in the gym. Did very similar exercises except a little different. Never had any serious head trauma, very fortunate but I also trained my neck at least 5x a week.
While biting down on a mouthguard:
- Chin to chest x 50
- Chin to shoulders x 50
- Ear to shoulders x 50
- Clockwise circle x 25
- Counter Clockwise circle x 25

What i do is something similar to the yes head,i use hand weights and attach the straps together,lay back on a bench enough where my head can hang off,then do the yes head movement , 1min 30 seconds for beginners, nd 2min 30 seconds for more advanced ,this really works ,now i can take shots to the chin and barely feel them,nd makes my neck look thick and muscular,obviously still learn to hit and not get hit ofc

Haha man.. ny coach makes me do most of this but like while doing flutter kicks or holding what we call a "boat" position. And also a great lower back exercise for boxing which helps is supermans.

Hey Coach! Should you keep your wrist straight or slightly bent when you're throwing a right hook or any other punch?
Try to keep it in line with the forearm, don't want to snap that wrist upon impact.

My neck is soft af and it irritates me so much. The thing is my muscles are pretty big including my traps and even the back of my neck but the front of my neck isn't stable.

Hello cruz ramos. I was doing a training on the neck up and down and left and right with 4 kilos. I was told that its dangerous for my neck and that i might get paralysed. is this true?
Not sure but I definitely try to keep it simple when it comes to the neck.

Slow down a bit, you'll build a tolerance.

I believe they can help prevent neck pain, not sure if they help when there is an existing problem.

Yes, will do. Burpees and jump squats are some of our favorites.

Hey are these safe? will these cause any problems with your back or spine via putting to much pressure on them? Will they cause any other long term problems in general?
It really isn't that strenuous, more just strengthening through repetition.
These exercises don’t make your neck bigger right coach??
Nothing that would be noticeable.
What about for the back of your neck?
The stabilizing muscles for your neck are located in front of the spine, for the back I guess you could probably work on your trap muscles.

coach is the long neck theory for punch resistance correct?
It's universally accepted the trapezoids help as well the neck also absorbs head damage from the body shaking

That was excellent training advice. I’m afraid to spar at my gym because of my skinny neck.
Strengthening your neck will definitely help with sparring.

I try not to explore too much with the neck, for now this is all we do to strengthen the neck.

Try slowing it down a bit.
This is not even a warm up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you need to add atleast 22lb weight. I uses to use 66lb for my neck workout when I was 18.
