    My 2019 370Z T sport pkg running 94 octane gas dynoed at 322 peak rwhp @ 7200 rpm on a Dynojet dyno after having a Stillen Gen 3 long tube CAI and a Fast Intentions true dual x-pipe CBE. The tuner used the Ecutek software suite and electrd to have a 91 octane map installed as a safety measure if I can only get 91 octane pump gas here in California. If I lived in another state I would have also installed an equal length primary tube LTH.
    The car is so much more fun to drive now, being strong and responsive. These mods were totally worth it to me.

    Thats crazy!!! Thats over 400 hp at the crank. If you add a 18% drivetrain loss. I was on the fench about modding my G37 but now i think i know what im going to do. Maybe go w shortys from Z1 instead of LTHs.

    I like very much your honest evaluation of the results without hyping merchandise. As you said very similar results can be reached with different brands thus saving you money. For my taste, I can do without the flames and back fire tune. In your opinion ,what percentage of power increase was done by bolt on equipment vs a tune?

      In this case, most of the horsepower gains were because of the parts themselves. The stock tune with stock parts already puts out a healthy amount of ignition timing and the fueling is not too far off to cause a decrease in power.

    Can someone explain the benefit of 3inch intakes vs 2.5 or whatever it is when it’s all going through the same size throttlebody? Impressive gains no doubt I’m just curious as I’m not smart enough to know the benefits of 3 inch intakes vs a stock diameter cold air intake going through the same throttlebody

    Your car runs real nice bro. I have a 09 7AT G37 sedan RWD and I love to drive in sport mode. But when im cruising with my family in the car I keep it on D. However lately I have been having this issue where if I have it in D, any road where I have to maintain speed of over 50mph, the car jerks, loses power and I cant go past about 65 mph without it jerking violently. Now I only use it in sport mode because I noticed as long as I keep it from going into 6th and 7th gear it wont jerk and lose power. But if i forget and shift into 6th it jerks and also the CEL, SLIP, and VDC light come on. As long as i stay off of highways and long roads that require 50mph or higher im good but as you know, nobody buys these cars to drive them slow.. I have changed the Valve Cover Gaskets and spark tube seals, the spark plugs, 2 new maf sensors and 1 maf sensor connector… i dont want to get rid of it but i dont know of anyone else who has this problem so now im just asking anyone in the VQ37 community. If you have any knowledge of what it could be I’d greatly appreciate it.

      Its your crank position sensor. Had same thing happen to my m37. It doesnt send crank revs to the transmission and itll bang into gears and slip lights will come on and youll loose power or the transmission will hold the gear because it lost engine speed. I recommend replacing cam sensors as well while your at it.

    Anyone in your shop know something about suspensions. I have a 2012 G37xS Coupe (original owner) and a few years ago I lowered the car on Tanabe NF210 (NF : Natural Feel; 5% stiffer than stock / modest drop) In early May I changed the shocks because the car is 10 years old now on the stock shocks and they were done. The car has only 59K miles never winter driven and is in showroom condition. I replaced the OEM shocks and kept the lowering springs. After a week the car developed a creaking sound that sounds like crickets for a brief moment only for 2 - 4 seconds while accelerating...not aggressively but not soft either and only from the driver side. My head mechanic heard the sound using the scopes and was sure it was coming from the top as did another mechanic down here in SW Florida where I'm currently located for about one more month. I was advised to change the upper control arms (comes with bushings and ball joint) on both sides which I did last week and after spending close to $1k the sound is still there. I called KYB (the car is AWD) and the tech there said it was probably the upper plate and mount. He thinks the rubber sleeve that holds the shock spindle is worn down and that's what's making the noise. However my head mechanic doesn't agree. They recommend waiting until I return to diagnose it again. One thing everyone agrees on is that it's not the lower control table. Thanks for any help....

      Its because of the bootleg springs on stock struts setup... likely the struts are shot. I had a similar thing happen on my g37x awd coupe and on my 370z... the fix was BC coils, SPC upper control arms and rear lowers. If its lowered on springs without adjustable control arms then camber and toe are definitely out of spec and it will be impossible to put in spec until those and eccentric toe bolts are installed

      The 3.53 is great for turbo cars, but I would use a 3.69 or 3.9 for NA.

    I've heard somewhere that when the car shoots flames during a dyno pull thats considered knocking not sure if id feel safe having my car go through that. Anyone want to explain? I am aware of how flame maps work but I'm just talking about flames/back fire, from "knock" specifically.

      Now a days automatics are faster. If you plan on going forced induction, you should get a manual since the auto transition won’t hold up to good after 400whp. If you just want bolt ons and a tune to be spitting flames/crackle map then the auto will be plenty of fun. My tuned g37s coupe is auto and I still have the time of my life in it, pretty quick for what it is💪🏼

      Yes, you can.VQ35HR and vq37VHR have a same blocks, with different crankshaft and pistons.

      @@jakemannino5344 I've been curious myself as well how much of a difference it'll make if the car had a different drivetrain and transmission. Most of the Zs I see on youtube are RWD manuals and I drive a g37x 7AT so I wonder how comparable it is.

      @@estebanlucero957 awd has more lost power to the drive train. So it starts around 260 wheel horsepower instead of 280-290 from a z or rwd G

      @@Ivanitis I know we start around 260-270 to the wheels I've seen awd Gs push 300 with bolt ons just don't know if it would with just headers, exhaust and intake.

      The best tune for that is an engine swap to a 5.0 so it can keep up with a Z

      Y pipe shouldn’t really have any difference on power nor sound. Any difference would be in build quality

      Make sure you have test pipe and ask tuner you give you a flame map

    Does the Cai really do anything? And does the tune void the warranty? I ask because I have 90 tho left on a 16 sport, and want these mods

      Yes and yes. CAI only worth it if you’re getting tuned though and some CAI you have to get a ton for the car to run properly.

      I too am going through the FBO process and have to wait for tune and intake until November because that is when my warranty will expire. So far I only plan on installing ISR Y-pipe along with a Tomei cat back because exhaust modifications won’t void warranty. If you want to void the warranty and plan on purchasing a intake I recommend you save your money and buy a 3in intake along with a tune. You can install 2.5in intakes without a tune but in my opinion it’s just a waste of money if you’re gonna tune the car later on.

      Headers are a must and catback.. intakes are not really needed

    What’s up VQ fam. I have a question. I understand that 3in intakes require a tune, but how immediate is the tune required. Should I be installing the LTI’s literally before rolling it onto the dyno? Or let’s say I install in my garage and drive let’s say 25 miles to my local tuner? Moncef, I freaking love you man but traveling is difficult so my Z has only been blessed by JoTech Motorsports in Dallas. Thanks to anyone in advance who reply’s back :)

      I mean really any aftermarket bolt ons need a tune make any noticeable difference but its just intakes you can drive it untuned its not going to do anything to damage the car because regardless of the size the stock ecu is still only gonna read the stock requirements so its going to pull the same amount of air.
