    Jonny taught me photography and social media when I was a beginner and a few years later I'm learning how to save the money I'm earning from stuff HE taught me. Perfect example of growing with your audience. Love it!

    I started playing drums at 14 and by the age of 15 my dad got me and my twin brother jobs in a nightclub. My dad said to me, drums are expensive and we can't afford to get everything you need or want for this. Save everything you get from this job and have the pride of owning your own gear. I let them buy me a double bass pedal as a Christmas present that year and that was the last time anyone was allowed to buy creative equipment for me (drums or photography) up until last year when my wife bought me a snare drum. But since I was 16 til now that I'm 37, I play the game of saving for the unobtainable piece of gear out of my reach. I save, thinking about this piece of gear, whether that was drums or now photography equipment. I have it locked away in a separate account or cash box at home whatever it was over the years, with the sole rule whatever goes into this box can't be touched. Then when it comes to the time I have enough to buy this equipment, I look at what I've got saved and decide nah not this time. I reset and find something else I want and in the end I keep saving. Obviously though there are times I need to spend on expensive microphones etc but the times I don't, this game for me works a treat and makes saving easy for me. Currently I'm saving for a Canon Tilt Shift lens I don't need hahaha.

    That is such a beautifully simple idea. I've always struggled with budgeting, and a lot of it is the psychology element. Reckon I'll give this a go. Thanks mate, that's a cracking tip!

    Although it has nothing to do with your usual content, I found the video very interesting and will try your trick. I think it would be cool if you made videos like this from time to time on topics that concern you. Last but not least, I would like to compliment you on the excellent quality and video editing. As always it's a pleasure to watch your videos and I really like your direct and authentic way.

    I do something like this with the difference being that I do not carry the left over into the next month, I save it.

    What a fun, practical game for money management. Getting those daily dopamine rewards is good for habit reinforcement. I've learned to celebrate 🎉bargain bliss🎉 when I get what I need and desire within my budget. I respect my money saying "I wouldn't throw that on the street," not even a penny. You showed avocado toast as a reward/splurge. I love avocados and learned to enjoy coffees at home, because a $4 coffee out is the cost of two avocados. With each home brewed cup I celebrate bargain bliss and eat avocados.

      Not sure if it’s the same where you are but in the UK avocado toast is a bit of a joke because a politician said if melenials want to buy a house they need to buy less avocado toast. Or something similar.

    I wish my outgoings were only £1,000 🤣 I’ll still try and do it with what I have left over but it’s a lot less than £693 🤣 I know why you did that, just made me giggle haha
    Edit: mine worked out as an extra tenner at the end of the month 😂 I need to earn some more money haha

    Just a quick one - is the £1,693 not the minimum before tax? Rather than after, as stated? :)

      @@ItsJonnyKeeley haha, nah it’s just a small one. The numbers are there to present the idea, not be factual. Appreciate the video, regardless!

    Be careful of how far you take it because I know some very wealthy people who scrimp on everything as they’re addicted to not spending. They now even go to food banks, take charity gifts and even buy from Facebook marketplace and then sell on for a profit, even worse, they do this with the free items on facebook too. If you go out for a meal with them they share food, once they refused to buy a desert because it was £4. Unbelievable, they own three house and both have jobs.

    • @ItsJonnyKeeley
      @ItsJonnyKeeley  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3
