I just wanted to say the both of you are a blessing, not only to me for all your kind advice but to everyone who watches you, your advice to me personally has helped no end, today is 2 weeks post op, and only 5 days ago, I felt suicidal, that is the turning point on which I asked you for advice.
I have stopped being sick, but still can't eat. And I've lost a stone in weight. My partner who is the live of my life is helping me change my stoma as when I was doing it I kept getting it wrong.
And the further advice you gave today to Tony has no doubt helped him.
I knew you both were special when I first came across your channel months ago.
I hope Pat is feeling better, nothing worse than being sick.
    Sending warm hugs ❤

Thank you for this comment Rachel. We are so pleased to have been of some help to you. You will get the hang of fitting and removing the bag over time. Pat lost a ton of weight when she had her op, which helped her in the long run, so don't worry about that. Your appetite will return too gradually.
We wish you a good gradual recovery, and give our regards to your husband for being such a brick at this time in your lives.

Hope you're feeling better Pat, I absolutely love your videos and really look forward to seeing you both every day. I had a colostomy on the 1st of May it was an emergency operation I had a perforated bowel due to diverticulitis, it was a complete shock. I am now very used to my stoma, I have different bags to you though, my stoma nurse calls every 8 weeks to check on me. At first I was distressed but the nurses told me that having my little bag saved my life. Thankyou for being so open about it, much love from Marple, Stockport. My husband was born in Leeds xxxx

Pat would not be here today if it had not been for the operation that left her with a colostomy. We are so pleased that you have become accustomed to yours.
Pat has had very little contact with a stormer nurse in the 25 years she has had her colostomy, so you are doing well.

I appreciated the "subject" discussed. I also believe that we should familiarise ourselves with the information in case we come across someone who may need help. Remember pooing pants when young? Well oldies can do this too. Sorry.. But thanks anyway for your explanation. I hope you're feeling better Pat and have one of his dirty socks handy just in case he snores.
There's quite a bit of information and video of the Bridgewater canal breach. The people are very fortunate they weren't moored up anywhere near the breach otherwise we'd be reading more about human loss. Looks like some timber in intermediate control locks are rotten and giving way so the authorities are trying to sandbag and using plastic sheets to seal up these damaged areas thus keeping narrow boats afloat. Most boats look okay, there's one that looks to be across the canal which will need to be moved so other traffic will be able to get through when the time comes. It looks as though the flooded land is now clearing up. Snow added to the catastrophe. Mud has turned to slush. Horrible stuff.
Question, how far from you is this breach? Bridgewater looks west of London according to what my map shows.
Stay safe and keep warm. Cheers..

I have been told it's the Leeds & Liverpool canal, which is the one we are next to. It's nowhere near London unless there are two of them. There are a lot of boats grounded including a marina. There is no water in the canal at all at the place I have seen Barry, it will take years to fix I should think.

There's something called a vagal nerve reaction, I learnt about because my IBS can cause if I have a sudden painful toilet urge which is thankfully rare avs once it did make me sick whilst I was sat on the toilet, we've discovered my partner gets it, his is also thankfully rare but it tends to happen if he's eaten something or drank something at night that's given him acid reflux. Apparently the nerve between your brain can suddenly get very sensitive in those moments and your brain will tell your stomach to empty itself. Apparently acid reflux when you are lying down can kick it off as it irritates your gullet.

We once went up to London for a day. Coming back on the tube I suddenly felt very sick. I don’t know where it came from or what caused it. Luckily I had a carrier bag on me so had to use that. I was mortified and everyone who was in the compartment got off at the next stop. 😂 After we got off the tube at Paddington, it suddenly started coming out the other end 😳 The journey from Paddington to Reading was spent in the train toilet. It still mortifies me to this day and I assume I had eaten something that didn’t agree with me as I was fine when I got home.
