Unbiased, informative and sharp as always. While not being snobbish here, I never thought there could be so much to evaluate and speak about the little master on the Indian roads. Said that the old 800 was our first ‘modern’ car. It was a world apart from the 79 model Amby that we used once. It came in as I started practising as a lawyer and lot of memories of long trips and runarounds me and my wife made in it. Your post did play some nostalgic cords in both of us. 💥got 23kmpl on 1st gen k10 the car was a gem very rev happy, but lacked steering feel as it comes with eps..seeing this i can say tat maruti is going back to its root..we can see now they are making their cars with the enthusiasm they had back then...as jd said 1st gen alto is the best looking one.

Most of us grew up driving Maruti 800,progressed to Alto, Zen, 1000, Esteem, an then to other brand of cars. The car that made my day was Alto, now with all the comforts you have explained, I'd rather go in for the K10T, Alto as my second car. Hopefully your review wouldn't let me down. I'm sure it will live it up.

Side view picture of that old silver alto gave me an instant surge of nostalgia. It was our first car and our family has cherished every moment with it. My mother used to drive it to work then. We had done very long distances in it. The best part, it still runs like how it ran in my childhood. Kudos to Maruti for fulfilling the dream of every middle class Indian to own a car someday!!!
7L for an Alto🥲 Car prices has gone really high.. Feels good to have been able to buy a 7yr old Altis Diesel for 5.5L.. Very happy with 19kmpl mileage and no issues so far..
"7L for an Alto" this is an Alto K10 not normal Alto 800cc, this is the problem people confuse normal Alto with Alto K10 that's why they can't digest the pricing. Alto K10's competitors are S-presso and Kwid, Kwid's full option costs 7.15lakhs onroad.
It's a lot more challenging to package all customer expectations into a small car. Happy to see Indian consumers dictating the design requirements of small cars. Classic case of " Kitna det hai " philosophy winning again.

Recently bought a first gen Alto K10(used car) and it's a pocket rocket... 🚀 Good handling, good AC, on demand power on all gears, gives confidence when overtaking other vehicles. Only thing I don't like is it's rear look.
The first gen Alto 1.1 cost 4 lakhs even without power steering, airbags, rear seatbelt, parking sensors....etc. But it had full rear head restraints, rear wiper. Prices of cars have gone through the roof. The swift lxi untill recently was priced at 4.99 lakhs . It pains that an alto costs as much. But even more shocking is that a WagonR 1.2 Zxi ags costs 8.25 laks on road with few months waiting period too. Loved the review, but i feel that msil should have given this competent car a better exterior design
5 years ago, when I bought a 10 year old Honda City ZX for 1.6 Lakhs, my cousin sold his 10 year old Alto for 1.7L. I was so confused I didn't know if I should be happy or sad.
Alto is definitely the most reliable hatchback in this segment but in this new Alto the rear look is a little wierd but overall it is very nice BTW great review
I learned driving on a k10. Most memorable moments happened only with k10 the struggle to climb hilly roads and the feeling of accomplishment after doing it. It feels like ok we have made it to the top. With rain some body has to sit with a cloth to defog the glass and navigate the road a head with maps. With our new creta its just sit back and tap on the accelerator and it will climb up. Dangerous curves and all car it self will tell. Its convenient but thinking about the old k10 sunlight copper kseries kl40E8691 still brings smile and happiness.
I remember dissing the S-Presso and basically bullying a friend for replacing his Alto with one. That was until I drove it😂. Dynamics of the car aside, the K10 is an absolute gem of an engine! Incredibly refined and loves to be revved, although you'll hardly ever need to because it pulls in nearly every gear. I definitely won't be buying one (6L for an Alto? Whew!) but definitely going to drive one of these soon!
You guys should definitely add a review video of first gen K10 which is a seriously underrated car... Such cool looks than any other cars in the segment and super mod friendly... Rev happy, smokes many big engine cars on road and might end up being a mod collectible in the future.... Pure gemm ❤️❤️

For 6.9lakh ignis delta is there. If we can stretch to 7.3lakh ignis zeta is there with more premium features. Even on delta we are getting 15inch wheels, electrical orvm, front and rear power windows and headrests etc. Even ignis base variant is available for 5.8lakh. ( all onroad prices ) Go for the base option of alto that comes with power steering and ac if you are on a budget and add power windows(even top end comes on center console) ,android stereo,better seat padding if you have budget, center locking. These are enough for any alto owner to enjoy that car. Anything more than 6.5lakh ignis is far better car in every aspect.🤗
Hello, i am glad that we got such a car from maruti, and more than that, thank you talking cars, for doing such a video, I felt so happy to see a video like this, because being a middle class family member, it makes a sense of good feeling that, there are still enjoyable cars out there, to buy providing all the nessacery. The power, the mileage, the compactness haha nice package I can say, watching and reaching at the end of the video, I wish I had brought this car, and did some modifications to it haha, Firstly change the tyres and upsize it a bit for grip, change the seats. a small exhaust and yeah pretty much it. Daily fun car! hahah

The 1st Gen K10 was a gem. The dash was a fullfledged dash, and regular seats, with peppy engine and beautiful lines and all you needed to change to alloys. The only things I like in this is the peppy engine, steering contols and infotainment system. That said Maruti has been a trend setter in the cost consious segment. The 1st Car I owned was the xfun, then got the SX4, then got a-star zxi as a 2nd car, liked the car minus the shape and front bonnet and shape in front. The astar is still in family but was replaced with a Polo GT TDI. At this cost would it not be better to go to swift which is also a very good fun car and a different segment

Alto K10 was a kinda cool to ride and rigid in that segment. But later on from 2016 onwards the compromised everything to compete with their predecessors at same price, which is evident in its ride and handling! I won't dare to take a sharp curve at 40 /50kmph empty load atleast! Peek from outside, yourself can see wheels bending towards sides.

I have 2017 alto k10 manual its a nice car feels powerfull but its very light car. Recently i bought baleno 2022 model in mid it shows 23kmpl in highway but real it returns 18kmpl in highway here it makes a huge difference.is it same in every cars.

I had a 1st gen alto k10 vxi.Once a bully innova cab driver comes aside to my k10 on a signal and and shouted,"move your puny car".He placed his innova near to me to overtake when the signal come off.MY ADRENALINE RUSHED.I prepared my pocket rocket to take off.Once the signal off, my k10 accelerate like crazy 🤪. i just fly by.I smoked the innova cab with full of joy.THE ALTO K10 IS A MAD SLEEPER MACHINE🔥

I have 2017 alto k10 manual its a nice car feels powerfull but its very light car.
Recently i bought baleno 2022 model in mid it shows 23kmpl in highway but real it returns 18kmpl in highway here it makes a huge difference.is it same in every cars.
I feel it is better to buy Ignis any day, paying premium of ~ 1 lakh model to model. Better engineered international product and 1.2 engine as well.
