Good on you taking you time to explain who we are, Of late there is too much African youtubers keeping posting about Black and African our Motto already explain who Jamaican are. We love Africa and will always do but enough is enough. I’m a Jamaican from Liguanea or Uptown girl as you gave explanation about the many areas nicely, I’m one of then who can't dance don’t speak patois or smoke big head. Thanks for touching on diverse topics that plague daily here on TH-cam. About whom Jamaican are where they are from and about it’s a Black country. There is no way you’ll find a Jamaica who make it a daily routine discussion about being Black. We are straight up Jamaica we don't identify ourselves by our colour like the American or other countries do. Amen.

It has nothing to do with light skin tone my fam. Our ancestors had different shades of melanin from BEFORE the inquisition.

Mixed race is not a term used legally in Jamaica, unlike in other countries. Jamaica is a culture that emerged from shared existence. The question of race would hardly ever appear on everyday documents. Place of birth is the closest disclosure question that would likely be asked on a document. The mindset is totally different from what is stereotypically expected based on skin tone.

    Some Jamaican history
The Browning Class, also known as Afro-Europeans, are a group of people in Jamaica with a mix of Black and white ancestry:
    History
The Browning Class are the post-colonial inheritors of status and privilege from the white upper class. In the 1871 census, 100,346 people were recorded as "Coloured", which is now known as the Browning Class.
    Demographics
According to a 2011 census, 15.1% of Jamaica's population is Afro-European, or Browning Class.
    Wealth
Despite being a minority group, the Browning Class, along with White Jamaicans and Chinese Jamaicans, control a disproportionate share of the country's wealth.
    Social power
Brownness or light skin can be a source of social power and status
    Terminology
In Jamaica, "white" is an inclusive category that includes people of Anglo-Saxon, Jewish, Syrian, and even some multiracial or Chinese backgrounds.

Despite the social divides, we are a fascinating mix of people don't you think? There is much we can and do teach the pre-
    dominantly white and white-
minded people. We have excelled and put our mark on the International arena. Let's keep on celebrating who we are, and leave our positive mark wherever we land."OUT OF MANY ONE" or in the latin-
ised form of our motto as used by the Americans, Y PLURIBUS
    UNUM. Keep shining. 😊🌴🌵💥🐬

What if the Canadian farm workers fr Jamaica was told they were goin2 Canada to work as indentured Laborers jus for a few yrs
    💬 🤔
Working for free labour profit on a plantation under harsh cruelty
    Is plain & simple
Stop erasing n minimizing the other groups out of our history & contributions to our country of Jamaica
    The Tainos Are still here
What a disrespectful history here 😞
