First of all 2 imperial star destroyers have more firepower than that group of ships with hundreds of weapons emplacements and 72 fighters each the rebels stand no chance against them. secondly a nebulon B frigate only has no hangers for 2 sqaudrons vs an ISDs 6 fighter group also important to know they can have 3 tier defender squadron 1 tier bomber and interceptor and fighter sqaudrons enough to defend any isd
A Nebula B can hold 2 squadrons of fighter/bombers. Then there are the squadrons that either hyperjumped in or were part of a base garrison. Another poster mentions there was a Cruiser there at one point that could've done the majority of the damage to the dead ISD. Plus there's no context as to prior battle damage or squadron depletion on either side. So it is very plausible the ISD was killed due to a number of factors. Odds are the other ISD and any support ended up winning the day.
@@MrMegamike2k there was a massive battle happening in the atmosphere I’m not actually sure if this was before or after the destruction of the super star destroyer cause this isd could’ve already been extremely damaged by the massive enemy fleet

It would be impossible for a star destroyer to float within the planet’s atmosphere. There are a lot of impossibilities in Star Wars related stuff, but this one is just too hard to swallow. I’m just not sure why they couldn’t have made the plausible rule that, massive ships are not meant for entering a planetary atmosphere. The mount of thrust needed is impossibly high, and everything underneath would be an inferno. How could you have enough fuel either?? The fuel tanks would have to be larger than the ship itself, and they would only add more weight. It’s just an impossibility.
