You missed one important thing, you can short the game down with one turn. In newer edition base games the cards have different backs as well. And in the description it's 1-4 players because it has a solo mode. Best with 2-3 players.

Jeremy got those form BGG Geek Store. I'm not sure if they currently have them in stock, but there ARE beautiful and a joy to play with. I'm definitely going to be ordering some when they're available again.
It's a little disappointing but it plays very little into the actual gameplay decisions that you would make. You can't actively manipulate the deck to draw 'new' cards remember, so you are just drawing a new card each turn. We thought it was important to point out though.
Good review. The base game was pretty weak on component quality, but it was a solid game. This with the colors being off is a huge hit if you don't like to sleeve your cards.
Given the way this game plays, I don't really see the color variance being a big issue. Annoying perhaps, but I really can't imagine it affecting gameplay at all considering how players are burning through cards.
Saying the game is long is a bad trait its like saying a game is good if its quick, makes no sence. The only thing you need to know is if you are going to have enough time to play before you seat.

That card mismatch issue is a deal killer for this edition. I'll wait to see how well the Rio Grande edition looks like before purchasing.

I ask because I was thinking of buying to Rio Grande edition since I have the earlier edition from Essen last year.
That is a great question! We have the original Delicious Games Edition AND the Delicious Games Expansion. We do NOT have the Rio Grande Edition.

Rick Heit it does not come with the promo biodome. They are pretty readily available though.
The new editions of the base game come with the dome and card. Incsnt recall the source on that. Apologies.
