Ducati Streetfighter V4 long term review
มุมมอง 11Kปีที่แล้ว
First video!! Long Term Ownership of the Ducati streetfighter v4! Subscribe
I've had an SFV4 for a month and am really enjoying it but find the wind blast / helmet shaking pretty uncomfortable when going very fast and in the high rpm power band. Did you find similar and get used to it? It probably doesn't help the roads I'm doing this on are quite bumpy.
Yes, I still get uncomfortable at high speed if I am not leaned over onto the tank. lots of neck strain if riding on the highway for longer periods. Ive gotten used to it for the most part or try to avoid extended periods at higher speeds.
Nice review
Horsepower!
Must be frustrating to ride a bike like that and only have sh*t straight roads to ride.
Yes it is :/
bolts will be super clean, good work...
Beginners shouldn’t begin on a 300 because they’ll get bored and they’re no fun to ride with? That’s selfish and dangerous thinking. And starting on a 600 is stupid because most riders can’t maximize the potential of a 600 on the street.
Will you take it to the dealer to turn off the service light or do you turn it off yourself?
@@allenpearson9716 I reset the lights myself
@@CerealCityGarage Can you explain how?
@@allenpearson9716 I will try to make a video on it. But I use the “JPdiag” website with the correct obdII to Eruo adapters. There is videos on TH-cam that explain how.
USE a jacket man😫
Keep the content coming. Stay safe bro.💪
Ducati dry clutch probably why it runs sh.tty when its hot
Streetfighter v2 probably good starter
Yamaha r6 and Aprilia r660 good starters
had a hypermotard 950 and it was throttled to 45 hp. found it boring after a month. I have now bought a streetfighter v4s and am waiting for it to be delivered. 6 more months :(
You will love it!
Anything interesting on the drain plug magnet?
Nope, Just the normal ducati shavings.
I will buy it as my first bike and never touch 2nd gear
which mirrors are you using?
They are some Amazon mirrors. Gave them a try and have been very happy with them.
Great videos man keep it up! I'm from MI originally, in socal now. Looking to upgrade to SF V4S shortly. You have a strong Michigander accent lol, sound just like all my family from Dewitt.
Thanks I appreciate it! Its an awesome bike you wont regret it. Would love to move out of MI. Although I don't think the accent would ever go away LOL.
what exhaust do you have on there? looking at gettin one for my '23 sfv4 and couldnt find it on any of your vids.
@@xjado321 I currently am running the MGP exhaust by Hotbodies racing
A dirt bike will teach you what grip is. A street bike will teach you what speed is. Simply an opinion.
I could agree with that.
Man, im rebuilding a streetfighter V4S right now. The DJI osmo Action 4 is 10 times better than a GoPro. I've had the 5, 6, 10, and 11. They dont compare to the DJI.
Thanks for the feedback. I think I made up my mind and will try the DJI. On another note, rebuilding that bike cant be cheap LOL.
@@CerealCityGarage surprisingly less than you'd think lol, it's at $12,500ish total cost
@@GenericExotics Wow not bad
I feel like for the street, a v2 streetfighter makes more sense. The V4 is an amazing bike for sure though!
No
Too underpowered for a beginner bike. you will probably grow out of it in 4 days as a beginner
ye i started on a h2r one of the most boring bikes considering to upgrade to a honda unicorn
Yesn't!
Every bike is a good beginner bike as long as you behave like a normal human being and respect the rules.
Strongly disagree. If you’ve never ridden before how would an H2R be a good idea. Smh
@@charlesbatsold31 I can answer you that. Every bike can kill you if you behave like an idiot. Heck you can die if you fall out of your bed and land badly for example. Point is if you start out with a bike like the H2 you respect it more. You know what it is and what it can do. Sure with a less powerful bike you can pull the throttle to the maximum without having to fear to break speed limits. But eventually you can get too confident, too fearless. Which can be more dangerous when you switch to a more powerful bike. In short: with a smaller bike there´s more of a chance to become more reckless. With a higher powered bike you start having respect for what it is. And btw an idiot should never ride a bike no matter the age or cc. Have a nice day🙂
@@charlesbatsold31 Go to Asia and see how many superbikes are being used by beginners. Majority of them have been on a motorcycles but they still buy liter bikes. It is dangerous when you ride carelessly. It has never been because of a bike.
Any Duc after 2012 is a safe bet. Audi acquired them then. They are no less reliable than jap bikes now. More expensive to service… YES, but worth it.
I just made a reservation on one few days ago, will hopefully own one in a week or two, i'm so stoked
Congrats! Its an Awesome bike.
Nice
Wait…. So i just paid 32.000€ for a V4s and it doesn’t has a gas gauge 😅 so its guessing when you need to fill up ? No indicator whatsoever??
There is a low fuel light that comes on. My understanding is you have about 20 miles (32 km) after that comes on to refuel. I use my trip 1 and reset it every time I fill up. I know I am getting low after 75-80 miles (120-130 km) of riding. Its always a guessing game.
Wouldn't go more then 2k miles on oil. Ill probably trade my tuono for this next year. Need the extra hp 😅
92 miles on a tank 😂
Liter bikes be thirsty
Watched a minute in and was enough to give a thumbs up 😅
Thank you!!
It's so easy you getting those 170mph my S1k 2013 i need to pull more and the bike is really fast i don't know is my odm is accurate 😭
are you in Canada? Why is your speedo in KMH?
Im in the United States. The speedo is in MPH
@@CerealCityGarage 😆
Great review, I got mine from Motor City Ducati and same, Service advisor called me and said I had a "nail" in my rear tire when it was at its 2nd oil change so that was 800 bucks. its running flawless otherwise.
Awesome
is that Miles per hour? if it is you were going 251 kmph. Respect bro!
Yes miles per hour. Appreciate it!
Have you ridden the Diavel v4? I’m torn between the two. Position is great on both BUT cruise control, larger tank, fuel gauge, keyless control, launch start, even more comfortable positioning, WAY better for a pillion…. I think I’ll be going Diavel v4
I have not had a chance to ride one yet. I think if you are looking for a more comfortable bike that still has awesome performance, get the diavel.
Ended up buying a SFV4s grey Nero 😊
Let me ask you. That orange indicator in your display when you first accelrate in the beginning of video. Meaning what? Cant see it when you accelrate later in video. Asking because I just bought a SFV4 and noticed same thing
I believe you are seeing the RPM Indicator. Its sort of like a shift light built into the RPM counter. You dont see it later on in the video because I am in a higher gear and shifting early before the light comes on. I hope this helps.
Long term- 12 months and 6k, funny
Compared to the miles most people put on their machines 6k would be a long term review 😂.
I’m about to take the plunge into the V4. Any regrets? Would you upgrade to a V4S?
No regrets! I love the bike! Still has been flawless! Personally no I wouldn’t upgrade to the v4s. I only ride on the street and I don’t think I can even get close to being able to tell a difference.
Great video dude, look forward to seeing more of your content.
Thanks! As soon as it warms up where I live much more videos will be coming.
Is that 125cc?
🤣🤣
😂
127cc with thicker gasket
❤
I’m curious about the clutch. I have heard you can do the SP2 dry clutch upgrade on the V4. Does the V4 come with a “standard” dry clutch that can be upgraded to a different material or is it a wet clutch?
It is a wet clutch from factory. I believe you can buy the kit to make it a dry clutch.
@@CerealCityGarage yeah that’s what I thought. I see absolutely no advantage to the dry clutch. 1) it wears faster 2) it’s really expensive. For a street bike I feel like a wet slipper clutch is going to offer the best bang for the buck.
@@RadDadisRad I agree. Unless it was a dedicated track bike. I see no advantage in doing that.
@@CerealCityGarage how fast does it go in the first 3 gears if you’ve managed to get it to redline
If you are going to redline id say around 135.@@RadDadisRad
Your speedometer is wayyy off, unless all the minivans are cruising the highway at 90+MPH (like at 3:47)
Its pretty common for the mini vans to go 90+ through that section of highway LOL. I have no doubt my spedo is off by a couple MPH though.
When I'm in a 75 mpm zone and the road is relatively open, I do 90 in our Odyssey. Nothing unusual about that. Hell, in West Texas, I've cruised at 100 or so.
made me more confident i took right decision to order one, can't wait to get it - will be march....:)
I has a 22 v4s with 10800 kms now and I’ve changed the oil 4 times already I changed oil so many times because I have the clear clutch cover and I like to keep it clean. Yes I agree with you it’s a gas 🐷

Florida man here I’ve had a zx10,,zx14, mt09 , sv650, I feel like the all got hit especially just being in Fla lol. I’ve been looking at the monster plus, not you got me looking at this ! I stopped riding for a while cause of back aches and got into cars . Looking for something I can sit upright in but still be a sport bike and be somewhat comfortable . 5”7 as well so I’ll have to check out see how this feels
