Beautiful graphic work on this piece. Congratulations to the designers. This is where physical format music outshines any digital variation. Beautiful piece…
Makes me want to get the 8 CD box since it'll be my first time owning almost all of Blondie with this Box. I'm also excited that it'll be on Streaming and Vinyl too.
There are seven different variations of this: 3 x super deluxe editions (red, black and very limited white vinyl), 2 x 4LP version (red and black vinyl), 8CD and 4CD boxsets making seven
There's also a version (of one of the LP ones) with an exclusive A3 poster. But this *may be* one of the coloured vinyl sets. It's too confusing for words.
I felt for you Paul doing this one, a nightmare the way they shuffled all the rare tracks per format. Saying that, they did a great job. The reason the first two studio albums have paper sleeves is because that's how they were released back in the day.
Excellent information , gonna have to sleep on it , at the moment though will probably go for the 8 cd version. The book looks fantastic ! Best value for me. 👍
Amazing job, I had already purchased the 8 CD version (from Sweden, and I'm in TX!), which even after your presentation seems definitely like the best version to get, for the sounds, and the book! Your presentation was top notch.
Though I have CD remasters of all the studio albums, I am tempted by the £90 CD Boxset as it would be aesthetically pleasing to have everything book-bound in one place. However, the lack of “Eat to the Beat” video album DVD (encompassing the other Chrysalis videos) or any attempt to upgrade the visual portion of the catalogue to Blu-Ray quality plus an absence of the 12” Mixes of “Live it Up”, “Call Me”, “Heart of Glass”, “War Child” & the Mike Chapman Mix of “Slow Motion”, means the £90 CD edition does not quite push that edition over the line for me. Though much respect to the compilers for not withholding any content from the other £40 CD edition.
@@fredholmes1 I’m not saying otherwise. However this is not the first full remaster of the main album catalogue & I question if it was even necessary or merely marketing. After all, no-one ever complained about the previous full album remasters from the last occasion when they were repackaged & re-released.
Confused now. I had preordered the 3 cd set as I've been a fan since 1977 and have multiple copies of everything. But the book from the bigger cd set looks stunning.
Paul, thanks very much for another excellent unboxing video 🤩 Although I'm not a Blondie fan or collector, anyway it's very interesting to watch the design and the content (special thanks for the comments about where some tracks are included) of all formats of this amazing release. Happy for Blondie fans & collectors!
I've just compared the remastered versions. The new remasters are very very good. Definative versions I'd say. Lovely box set (8cd) and good value I'd say.
This pretty much just removed all doubts i had about this box set. I'm not huge on cardboard sleeves but at least they're not loose discs placed into the cutouts in the book. Hopefully they'll do the same for Ziggy and Aladdin
Looks nice, crazy to think my friend and I had tickets to see Blondie on the War Child tour which was cancelled when they imploded…. Wonder if he still has them 😉😬❤️
I agreed that they should have poly sleeves! So basic… all this attention and they don’t protect the records? Really nice set and great look at it! Cheers man!
Thank you for this! I am trying to decide which one to get and this is very helpful to see all the differences. I have all the regular albums so I only really want the bonus tracks but I think I like the big book better than the small in the 3 CD version.
I wish the book with the discography could be available somehow somewhere else. I don´t need to purchase the entire Blondie collection a 4th time! (Vinyl, then cd, and then remastered cd with bonus tracks)
The Chris Stein mixes are not what I expected. They are merely isolated music tracks. Good for reference perhaps but not something you will want to return to often. You can definitely live without these if you are considering the 4xLP version.
Please let me know if both books 10" from the large vinyl box and the 12" book from the 8 CD BOX have the identical amount of pages. 144? Or the only the identical texts. Thank you very much in advance.
Excited for this release - primarily to hear tracks and versions of tracks i've never heard before. I just wondered does the CD version of the book contain all the text that is in the bigger versions of the book?
how complete is the discography book? Looking at the video it looks woefully incomplete even compared to the old discography website.. I hope I am wrong when mine arrives
Individual tracks have been remixed on many occasions. If you mean remixing the albums from the multi-tracks just to save one tape generation then, no, you'd never get the resultant mixdowns to sound the same. The 1/4" mixdowns are the "go to" versions.
Excellent and informative video of a somewhat confusing range of different formats/issues. Some 'interesting' design choices here, if you have all of the albums on either format, and just want the bonus material, you can only get that on the CD version. Leaving tracks off the 4xLP rarity box is just bizarre, but then giving it superior large format book? This is going to hack off Blondie fans no end. Personally I would have standardised the book size and included it with all of the releases, either 10" or 12", just make it the same. Worst of all though is the lack of poly-lined sleeves. FFS you're producing a high-end product and for the sake of saving a few pennies/cents including crappy paper sleeves. Unforgiveable.
Thorough review but feel like my eyeballs have been wrenched out of their sockets by the constant shaking, flipping and sudden edits - just put the stuff on a surface and point to what you want to highlight!
@@sdedition And you can do it without jerking the object, swapping hands and abrupt editing. It's not possible for me to see it through your eyes, Paul. I'm seeing it through a camera lens.

Will it actually be on streaming?!
This is what I ordered for exactly this reason. Can’t wait to get it in hand. 🪩

You mean 3CD boxset? A 4CD boxset would make 8 variations!
There's also a version (of one of the LP ones) with an exclusive A3 poster. But this *may be* one of the coloured vinyl sets. It's too confusing for words.

Just WOW! Want all the formats actually!
@Nigel Day Good point!
Yeah!! I love this band, watching from London UK.

Great review! Dog's bollocks indeed! Well played, Sir!
Fantastic Unboxing Thanks For Taking The Time..Hopefully My White Vinyl Edition Arrives Safely!
I have the 10 lp big box and was blown away by the whole thing. I put the debibie box on one of my chairs. It's just totally cool.
Thank You Paul!! That was a very detailed unboxing. It must have took a lot of detail and focus. Cheers!😉✌️
thank you for the heads-up preview
Excellent and thank you as I am even more excited now as I ordered my set the day after I heard about the deal and now just waiting...Thank you.

Got the 8 disc Deluxe Edition. It's a beast of a thing and no mistake.
Confused now. I had preordered the 3 cd set as I've been a fan since 1977 and have multiple copies of everything. But the book from the bigger cd set looks stunning.
Thanks A MILLION for this video. I´m glad I watched it before making up my mind. Very instructional and easy to understand
Paul, thanks very much for another excellent unboxing video 🤩

Brilliant review, very informative
This looks gorgeous and I must have, thank you!
very enjoyable and informative video mate...the 8xcd version looks amazing
It really is.
Gorgeous set, couldn’t resist
Yeah, the packaging is fantastic. You put it on and you will admire it, you will never throw it away. The main thing is packaging!!!! 🤗

Absolutely excellent review mate. I'm going for the 10 album box set 👍

Thank you very much for going into deeeeepppp detail!👍🏻
Excellent unboxing
Waiting for my 3 cd/ book. Thanks for posting.
Wow! Iwant all! Amazong review. Blondie is the best!
Many thanks for such a detailed and clear explanation. Planning to buy either the 4 LP or 3 CD, when I can decide which I prefer!
Looks nice, crazy to think my friend and I had tickets to see Blondie on the War Child tour which was cancelled when they imploded…. Wonder if he still has them 😉😬❤️

Definitive unboxing. Thank you! Now curious how the remastering compares to the 1994 and 2001 reissues.
I've just compared. They are much better.
These are better

A Nice Collection
pre-ordered the 8 & 4 CD sets!
Excellent presentation. I will opt for the 8 cd box set.
Certainly more affordable but not an investment like this set

@ 1:56 Is there more Debs under that white polystyrene as it looks a bit black or is it just black underneath?
Excellent video 🙂👍
should have had a 12" book in the super deluxe set and just moulded the box to fit the 10" single below
I cant find you on audea - can you post audio versions of your videos there? would love to listen to them! thanks again for the great content!
Does the big 12” book in the 4 lp rarities set have all the same pages as the 10” book? Thanks
I'm confused about which edition to purchase...esp. since I can't spend around $300 to $500 Dollars for a Box Set. It all looks so good, though.
Please let me know if both books 10" from the large vinyl box and the 12" book from the 8 CD BOX have the identical amount of pages. 144? Or the only the identical texts. Thank you very much in advance.

The BLONDIE label isn't replicated - it should be the solid green with red logo version.
how complete is the discography book? Looking at the video it looks woefully incomplete even compared to the old discography website.. I hope I am wrong when mine arrives
Did the 4LP edition come in a specially designed box, or was it just the super deluxe?
Thank you. How did you get this already?
Is the disco version of Rapture the American or English version? I hope it’s the full 10 minute English version
Do you think they will rerelease them as individual albums as the did with the Bowie collections
They have already love
Curious, have any of Blondie's original albums ever been remixed from the multitrack tapes?
Individual tracks have been remixed on many occasions. If you mean remixing the albums from the multi-tracks just to save one tape generation then, no, you'd never get the resultant mixdowns to sound the same. The 1/4" mixdowns are the "go to" versions.

I really wish they'd deluxed each album so I could pick and choose. More than a little annoying this way.
Blondie
Nice review but the constant shaking all over the place is a pain for my eyes.
So basically the 4 LP box set with missing tracks should have been a 5 LP box set with all the rare tracks..... Con!
Yeah - the 4LP set is a white elephant. A set of Blondie rarities* (*but with some of the rarities missing) for the true Blondie collector.
how did you get that before the official release date????????
ps: who did the mastering on this???
This guy runs SuperDeluxeEdition so its an advance copy.
@@michael65 so he gets free stuff to promote... just like Michael Fremer^
plenty of these have been on ebay for weeks
All that effort and they cheap out for pennies with paper sleeves
Thorough review but feel like my eyeballs have been wrenched out of their sockets by the constant shaking, flipping and sudden edits - just put the stuff on a surface and point to what you want to highlight!
You can't point to the back of a box set without picking it up and turning it around.
@@sdedition And you can do it without jerking the object, swapping hands and abrupt editing. It's not possible for me to see it through your eyes, Paul. I'm seeing it through a camera lens.
Way overpriced! My Beatles Mono and Stereo vinyl boxsets combined ($250 +$300) cost me about the price of this boxset when released.
Oh good another excuse to spend money on something I already own and dont need.
