Omg, that brings back memories. My father bought an SX770 brand new from a shop in London in the early 1970s. He also bought a Garrard SP25Mk3 deck and Wharfedale Triton 3 speakers. I've still got the speakers but the rest have long gone. Thanks for a great video.
Maybe a shorted speaker cable caused the blown fuse? As you mentioned, Joe these pieces are 40 plus years old, any problem can develop, especially if stored away for a number of years..........
I am thinking like you...something happen that shorted that fuse on the right channel and speaker was what I had in mind without my pal Tim noticing it that cause that fuse to blow yeah!! I know it's nothing to do with the receiver. I guess we'll never know haha!!! but possibly a weak OLD fuse ?

Thanks for another great video.... by the way, are those PicQuic bits you are using?
yes they are....I know they are not the best!!!
@@VintageAudioFever Good enough for low-mid torque.
These old Pioneer have problems with bias trimmers (50ohms). My SX-770 is one of them.
💯
Merci.
Could the fuse have been damaged when the unit was in transit?
that is very possible...
