      It seems they were Scottish but as their ‘forebears’ had spent 100years in Ireland they were classed as Scot/ Irish.

    Omg! I grew up in Warminster Bucks county and went to Edna’s Antiques (Bogarts Tavern) with my mom and grandmom in the 1970s! Then to New Hope for ice cream! Ty for the history lesson!!

    Very nice day out! And re the Doan's crime sprees ~ it's true, times change, but people don't.
    (My mom loved Revolutionary history, too. She took us kids on road trips up & down the NE/New England, visiting towns like Plumstead. Also, her mom was born into one of the last remaining PA Quaker families. She left PA in her 20s to marry a musician.)

    Thanks for the tour - I won’t google but wondering if this is where the term ‘outlaw’ comes from - they couldn’t be buried within cemetery. Then I think ‘in-law’. Whatever. P.S. When my nephew Alex, (West Point 2004) was growing up in Brooklyn, we used to tell him Jimmy Hoffa was buried under his bed.
