That is by far the most gorgeous truck camper I have ever seen! That kitchen is to die for! And the fact that it's in the back of your pickup truck bed is astounding!
Back when I was researching campers and getting prices and numbers together, out of 12 or 13 dealerships I contacted, Thunder RV was the only one that was rude and gave me an attitude. The others were very cordial and forthcoming about pricing and discussing options and the different builds. The person who I spoke with instantly copped an attitude as soon as I said I was out of state looking to purchase in OR. From that moment on, the call was doomed to end unsatisfactorily. Refused to give any quotes or even speak to me further unless I disclosed all my personal information to him. Really? He claimed that he "Needed to know who he was talking to and dealing with". No other dealer asked that of me. Thunder may very well be a great dealer, but I'll never know after that interaction. It still rubs me the wrong way when I think about it today. That was 6 years ago.

@@oddlyrightoddlyright2475 Maybe except none of the other dealers gave me a hard time. I run a plumbing business and give estimates and phones quotes all day long. I suspect a portion of those are my competition.
Anyway, Apache Camping eventually got my business.

I found the listing on RVTrader - and there's a picture of the sticker! Only 4950 pounds (2260kg) with 74 gallons of water, 14 pounds of LPG, 8 cubic feet of refrigerated goods and 0 pounds of ice. Not shabby!
The RAM 3500 Dually/F-450 Dually/Silverado 3500 will carry it with LOTS of carry capacity to spare.

Well, yeah, but then you're limited by where you can take a 38' 5th wheel! Just like buying real estate, $$ per square foot is only one relevant measure of value! =)

F350 has more payload than the F450... F450 is more tow capacity

In the 1960s my dad worked for an RV manufacturer and invented a slide UP truck camper. He made a working model of it but never patented it.

Thank you for making my TC seem small and inadequate. lol. Kidding. I love my TC, which is a Lance 865. I love the fact it has no slide and is lightweight so I can boondock anywhere. But that's the beauty of it, they make so many different versions of TC's because people have different needs, so this one would certainly attract people who, like you said, want to camp at full sites with hookups. But if I had the money.... ;-).
I do have to comment about those who got on you for not knowing there are similar TC's out there...C'mon people, he's not a rep or dealer, he's a good-hearted vlogger who loves the TC lifestyle and is willing to share it with us all. Give the guy a break. sheesh. Love your channel, Taylor, keep it up!
I know right.....I went to see a patient yesterday who lives in a 5th wheel camper..I could not believe the inside of that RV.. had a kitchen island to die for...stone facade fireplace, big screen, stainless steel appliances, beautiful flooring and comfy sofa and chairs could not believe how gorgeous and roomy inside and not so big outside. I did not know they made these things to be so comfortable and ascetically beautiful ... jaw drop! It’s like what am I living in a stick house for...

Yeah 3 slide out truck campers is my dream! My favorite is host mammoth the floorplan that has the option washer/dryer. Because who wouldn't love to do their laundry in their truck camper lol

This is an amazing truck camper! The interior is huge with all 3 slides out and that dry bath is super spacious! It’s nicer than some apartments I’ve seen!

OMG, that truck camper is massive. Awesome video as usual.
The weight of the camper is around 6800 pounds. Add camping supplies such as food, water in tanks, clothing etc, total weight around 7500 pounds. My f550 super duty 4x4 has a cargo capacity 18000 pounds and a towing capacity around 23000 pounds. So artic fox will fit nicely in my truck. Now let’s go looking to buy one. My boyfriend is so excited. He’s like a kid in a toy store.

But it's a weird thing to have to do, since it's an over-sprung truck for basic pickup duty.
However... to haul a camper like this, if one has such an odd truck, he's better off retaining the stock leafspring setup.
It's been for sale for a while. The reason Northwood decided not to build it is because building them takes away from production capabilities of higher volume selling models... They just don't have the production capacity to build everything they'd like to build.

Steve Steve Steve Steve so if you park a 29 foot 5th wheel in a camp ground (I know this is off topic) do you get unlimited water and electricity and gas with a normal utility bill? Do campers have hookups for gas? I want to buy one and live full time but idk how these things work
Vile • they usually have water and electricity and some will work out deals for full time living so like a standard monthly fee, some also have tanks for you go dump your waste water into but not all gas you will have to supply yourself but if it’s 29 feet I assume you would drop it and leave it where it sits

@@vile1009 propane in propane tanks thats how you get your gas from gas station , and if you need power there are plenty of generators to choose from .

I would buy this if it was a production model, .... Eagle makes a 1165 in this class as well as well as Host with their Mammoth Truck Camper .... still I would love to see a great company like Northwood and their 4 Canadian season focus build a huge Arctic Fox 1163

@@rxonmymind8362 Yeah, but the Eagle Cap 1165 was first. If EC actually had a legal lock on this floorplan, perhaps that was the real reason Arctic Fox didn't make more of these. Too bad.

Would have like to see the weight information. I noticed in a recent RV show, the truck campers on display were loaded on trucks with weight capicities lower than the camper's empty weight. Looks like Arctic Fox is giving Ford a reason to push out more F450 and F550 models!
looking at those trucks last year the 450 for payload needed for a truck camper had no advantage over the 350
@@Tatiacha i knew the tow capacity was less. But I thought it might have some increased leaf spring support.
Our arctic fox 990 with all the gear inside ready to go camping weighed about 6400. I have a family and dogs and add another thousand pounds. From my experience to carry this safely you would need a regular cab 3500 Dually or if you wanted a crew cab you would need to move up to a 5500 Ram
@@Tatiacha that is true you need a truck with a GVWR of 17000 lb to carry the arctic fox 990 Safely .
When arctic fox gives the weight of the camper they do not include batteries generator or water. Not to mention the 2000 pounds of supplies you might load into the Beast

I think you should check out the Eagle Cap 1200. That has 3 slides, but a king size cabover bed and 2 entrances to the bed. I'd definitely get that if I wanted to splurge on a camper

I was a boy we had a 1968 14ft camper "tear drop" by coachmen...slept all 7 of our family comfortably is was carried by a 1968 f250 camper special..this thing over the top compared to then .it's a Hotel room for your Godzilla truck.

I'm an Arctic Fox guy... own a 2019 AF1140... but Eagle Cap has been making triple slides with islands for a long time now, as well as Host, I believe!
Eagle Cap and Host Campers both build a triple slide very similar to that and both heavy but they both sell a ton of them so this is nothing new.
Kevin Clark was thinking the same thing! Triple slide isn’t new....
And they start at around $55,000 without options? Plus you need a 2500 - 3500 dually? I going to get a 45' long Tour bus with a bathroom for around $20,000 to live in and a Mini Bus for $10,000 to tour in.

I can’t remember the manufacture but they had one like that.
Same layout and it had a fireplace in it.
Wouldn’t have been built with the same quality as Artic Fox but still pretty to look at.

I've got a 36' fifth wheel with 3 slides that weighs 12,000lbs. My '06 GMC 2500HD (8.1L V8 on 4 wheels) pulls it no problem. Can't begin to fathom why someone would want a smaller camper that requires a larger truck to pull but hey, to each their own!
Eagle Cap been doing it for years. By far the best truck camper. Eagle Cap that is.
Am I missing something? You can't get through the door with the rear slide in? You can't access the bed, fridge or bath with the other slides in? Not designed for stopping for lunch or a nap or a potty stop.
A lot of three slide truck campers are like that. If I had to get a truck camper, I'd sacrifice the slide. They ALWAYS eventually jam and cost a fortune to repair.

I have the arctic fox 990 and it is an awesome living space but too much for a Ram 3500 Dually mega cab. To do it right on one of these camper beasts you need a 5500 Ram Crew Cab Laramie with a custom toolbox bed and then your living
Nice but would not work for me either. I have an Adventurer 89 RB Camper. I bought that one specifically because it doesn't have a slide. I have it on a F-450 Diesel Dully truck & live full time in the Camper. I started watching your channel even before I bought it. Keep having fun, stay well & happy.

Lost my mom last year in July and I decided to buy a truck camper after it happened because I was seeing your vids before my mom passed and planned to do some trekking in a slide in truck camper to go visit West and do some touring in Canada. Wow what an amazing Camper. My Dad tried a camper after my mom passed away. He took it to two of his campouts and freaked, at the claustrophobicness, it had no popouts. He went back to a Travel Trailer. Beautiful.
We have a 2005 Forest River Trailer with two popouts, and do to damage from broken pipes, no roof care, I love the actual Island and that the Frig and Stove are in the popouts. Love the Tub shower seat. Great if your disabled or older and arthritic. I still wouldn't be able to live in a camper. But thanks so much for sharing it.
Taylor I've been to where your from . It is gorgeous there . Your a lucky man to be where your from . My parents & I decades ago spent the entire day @ Butchart Gardens . Blows y mind that the gardens were created from a former limestone quarry . What an incredible truck camper w/3 slides & an island in the kitchen area . WOW !
Hey dude! Where have you been? Eagle Cap has been making 3 slide TC's for years. In fact this Artic Fox 1163 looks a lot like the EC 1165. Maybe the Artic Fox "engineers/designer" could not come up with anything new so they just copied the success of the EC 1165 layout. Come on Taylor. Get current! Dah!
Marcie Warner host makes a beauty to with 3 slides. You’re right this does look just like my friends Eagle Cap except he’s got zero clearance recliners in the back slide.
Host is my personal favorite for their Mammoth interior designs.

Jake P I seen the Northstar campers and I know they are known for their pop-up campers. My neighbor has a hardtop long bed and he loves it. I just never liked them or the layout. I always like Arctic Fox and Lance Campers.

Welll, I bought it. Because of this video. Now I just need to sell my 2004 artic fox 990 dry bath. Wish you were close to do a video of my old camper. I would even pay a little for that. I posted my first ever videos of my camper trying to sell it. Not very good videos. Just taken with my phone. Don't know if anyone will ever see them though. Thank you for posting this video. This camper sure is and will be a blessing for my girls, dogs, and I.
