Sherrill, your timing is perfect! We are all looking forward to spring projects. It is really windy in our area in spring time, so I slip coins in the bottom of our garden flags to help keep it in place.
Your timing is spot on! I've been thinking about making one of these for a very looooooooong time. Joanne Fabrics is a hop, skip and a jump from me; No excuse for not getting one or two done. You have made it look so easy. I often times make things out to be such a colossal project when it is not. Thanks for all that you do to promote the love of sewing and such easy gifts for us all to give. I've often wondered if you belonged to 4-H when you were a child. Your demonstrations are so easy to follow it reminds me of what we were taught back in the day. Thanks again!
Hi Daphne. No I wasn't in a 4-H club. There wasn't one where I lived. I first learned to sew in 7th grade. My high school home economics teacher, Mrs. Lash, took me under her wing and taught me so much. I made a lot of my own clothes when I was a teenager. Glad the tutorials are helpful. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
Hi Julie. Thank you for the suggestion. Here is a link to a tutorial explaining how to stitch a design and turn it into a pillow: th-cam.com/video/UZ60kMs7gak/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
@@marekimura2371 I think it depends on the thickness of the vinyl. I’ve made project bags with clear vinyl fronts of a medium thickness, and they were pretty easy. But I haven’t worked with other kinds of vinyl.
Cute. Never saw anyone making garden flags. Never occurred to me that I could do that!
Hi Patricia. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍

Hi DM. That is a great idea using a coin as weight. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍

Do you waterproof your flags with Never-wet or something similar to keep them from getting wet when it’s raining?
I was wondering about that too. I suppose you could use a vinyl outdoor fabric to make the flag.
@@maryt2887 I was wondering that as well. How easy is it to sew on vinyl?

Hi Rainy Day. Yes. Use Never-wet or Scotch Guard. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
What kind of fabric did you use.😅
Hi Marcella. I used canvas fabric from Joann Fabrics and Crafts. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
Sherrill did you use quilting cotton for your flowers? I think I see canvas for the panels.
Hi Daphine. I used cotton quilting fabric for the flowers, and used canvas for the background. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
Hi Karen. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
