It deserves a perfect 1:1 scale anime adaptation on par with Violet Evergarden, but no studio is willing to invest that much in Air Gear. Best to have the anime presented in the time capsule format that it's in today than let some bastardized Baki/Kengan/Berzerk shitfest that is lauded as "we did our best" wank that might be. Let it's manga live on in purity until the minimum the anime world can provide actually meets what is needed to properly convey the majesty that is this series. I mean no disrespect, I just want none done upon this series.

once the anime got cancelled all those years ago i started reading the manga, which ended in like 2013 I think. The story was amazing, if you wanna finish the story i recommend the manga.

The one thing that made Air Gear's character's seem more realistic also hurt the series. They were a bunch of foul mouthed horny teenagers, it made it a harder sell compared to Naruto where the characters were much more child friendly. As for Bleach, it suffered the same fate, sure it lasted longer but went uncompleted like Air Gear with a few OVA's to cover the later story. Although Bleach also got some backlash from fans in the manga about how it all ended up, especially with Ichigo being basically a melting pot for everything.
Your brother yup, but these are motorized called Air Treks, and then there are teams that battle. It gets crazier in the manga because they touch on Regalias and "Roads"
The running joke is OH! Great! Style was so unique and complicated it was just too much to animate. But I think 2018 they should pick up where they left off or animate his new manga Biorg trinity (he's the artist not the writer). Those last chapters of Air gear tho.....just damn
