    Hearing VIII: The Rinne test is a comparison of air conduction (TF held in front) to bone conduction (TF held on mastoid) hearing. The TF is held at the rear then the front and the patient is asked 'which is perceived louder back or front' for each ear. Generally AC should be better then BC. Best not to talk during the test, best to ask this afterwards. This gives an indication of whether there is a conductive or sensori-neural loss (at the frequency of the TF). It also helps identify a potential difference between the two ears. For Weber ask 'is it heard in the middle, right or left' middle shows symmetry. As a general pointer with TFs the sound either travels to the greatest conductive loss or the better cochlear. If you can remember this sentence it will help you work it out. Hope this helps. Best of luck

    Why when the visual fields test is done, does the students cover his eye as well as the patient? - I've got no medical experience so it might be a really obvious answer to some.

    • @Lilnugget_96
      @Lilnugget_96 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Because the patient's vision is compared to the student's. We assume that the student's vision is normal. So, when the student can see his finger from his peripheral vision and the patient can't see it, we assume that the patient is having some problems with his vision.
