Dark Raiden isn’t actually Richard Epcar, it’s Travis Willingham. I didn’t notice it wasn’t Epcar until someone pointed it out to me, and even then it’s pretty hard to tell it isn’t Epcar.
This Chapter brought 2 Things I wanted NRS to do for Years, Redeem Mileena and give Her a Better Life as if they are keeping this Character making her a Queen with a Supporting Family is a Great Direction and making Ermac’s MK9 Ending Canon which I’m Happy because it’s a Brilliant Way to bring Jerrod and Ermac being Redeemed is a homage to Deception, as for the Damashi Twist it makes sense, not only is Kronika manipulates like Shang Tsung but MK1 is basically a Deadly Alliance Requel and a Continuation of both Aftermath Endings, I know People wanted Onaga but when you think about it if NRS revealed the Dragon King, they would’ve done it by now, at least Reiko’s Ending hints otherwise,also Jerrod and Sindel’s relationship gave me vibes from Antonio Banderras Zorro Movies in a Weird Way, it’s one of those Rare Times I like Evil Sindel in the Franchise, and seeing the Good Sindel Die is Heartbreaking, at least her Soul is Safe in Ermac, the One Thing I Don’t like about the Chapter and possibly the Story Mode is Tanya, she did absolutely nothing or was in any Importance, Even Reiko had a Larger Role in the Story, Tanya being Retconned to he Far Superior Traitorous Variant was completely wasted that I expected her to be Responsible for Jerrod’s Demise.

I like how Sindel effectively beats everyone again, but this time at the very least Raiden shocked them all so you could say that they were weakened by it. Except for Mileena because player character gotta gameplay
Ever since the trailer for this game released, my theory was that both aftermath endings were canon. I CALLED IT! Pretty sure anyone else who had the same theory also called it.
Sadly Richard Espar did not return for Raiden, Travis Willingham now voiced for Thunder God Raiden, which he previously voiced for him in MK Onslaught.
Spoilers ahead: This twist is actually very solid. Making both endings to Aftermath canon is so cool. Even cooler is the idea that the whole game is essentially a reimagined retelling of the 3D era games (Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon), with this twist serving as the “Deception”. With that said, I think they could’ve saved the Armageddon and multiverse stuff for a different game. Not saying that it’s bad, but everything that happens after this chapter just makes the last third of the game feel cluttered. Which is a shame since the rest of the story is very good. They could’ve just left the twist of “both endings of Aftermath are canon” as is, have us fight Titan Shang and Quan Chi as the final boss, then at the very end hint at the idea of a multiverse. And to avoid rehashing Titan Shang as the final boss for the sequel, they could throw Onaga in as a massive multiversal threat.
@@Monkforilla I’m sure the story can still be grand and epic without the Armageddon. When it comes down to it, it’s Titan Shang Tsung & Quan Chi vs Time Keeper Liu Kang. That alone can make for an epic finale to the game. Plus, Armageddon is like the ultimate culmination of everything in the series. The original had every single character in the series. Here, we only have brief cameos from other characters not on the roster and alternate versions of characters on the roster. And when it comes to choosing your final character to play as, you only really get 23 options. 22 if you didn’t pre order the game. Let me preface this: I’m not against the idea of adding the multiverse or Armageddon into the story. I’m totally on board with it. I think it’s a perfect way to pay homage to not only the forgotten 3D era games, but to Mortal Kombat as a whole. I just think it needs its own game for it to stand out.
This is literally the only problem I have with MK1 story: Mileena's chapter could've been better. Hell, they could've swapped Mileena in this chapter with Sindel and swapped Sindel with Mileena in the prior chapter. Side note: Mileena beating dark Raiden is pure BS
So the plot gets more interesting,i was having those sindel mk9 memories from were she took out earthrealms champions one by one but this time just knock them down.

Also I just now notice at 25:01 that music here is a slower and more quite version of the Rise song from MK11, fits perfectly for the moment since Liu Kang and Geras talk about the Hourglass. And no final note, RIP Sindel.
