You have to remember, this Scorpion’s identity is the younger Sub-Zero of the previous timeline. Meaning he is not the iconic Scorpion that we have known for forever and loved. That was Hanzo Hasashi, this is Kuai Liang. That’s why he is more humble, less tempered, and practically switched roles from the previous timeline. I understand why MK1’s Scorpion is disliked, but sometimes I think they keep forgetting this underlying factor. This Scorpion is a whole new person, and we just have to get used to that.
And even I, myself, dislike Kuai Liang as Scorpion. I prefer Hanzo Hasashi as well. Hanzo is the ultimate Scorpion, and Kuai is the superior Sub-Zero. That will never change in any of our hearts, but physically, we have to get used to this change in this instalment

You turn a blind eye to Liu Kang and Kitana finally kissing in this instalment? You hate the fact that Mortal Kombat is not just a regular fighting game, but its story modes depict and teach life lessons, respect, honour, and morality that is worth learning for every human being? You don’t like that the majority of MK characters have souls, humanity, good-nature and sympathy and/or empathy instilled within them, and are not just psychopathic killing machines, only bent on rage?
The history of Mortal Kombat, what I have experienced myself via the story modes, it is nostalgic, emotional, heartwarming, and a rollercoaster journey! I have currently cried 4 times to this franchise. One from Sonya Blade’s death in the MK11 story mode, another from Scorpion’s (who is Hanzo Hasashi) death in the MK11 story mode, again to the nostalgia from the MK9 story mode, and from full-blown happiness and awe of MK1’s storytelling of redemption. And trust me, it is almost impossible to make me cry to anything, because I have issues that restrain me from freely, externally expressing my emotional side. Only a few minor others, like Avengers: Endgame, tipped me off the edge and actually gave me a breakdown session

And I have played both MK9s and MK10s story mode and while I didn't care much for Johnny and Sonya's relationship, I can definitely say that Johnny is my favorite character in the roster. Not to play, I think he's fine but that's it, but just as a person.

@@ialc I get it but idk I feel like that’s a sign of laziness we shouldn’t just be ok with even if it’s nice. Plus that’s more appreciation for the animators who would’ve done a good job no matter what the move set crew like the director cooked up.
When it comes to Tanya, I have to agree to disagree because I love her fighting style. But I do love your content and can’t wait to see part 2!

Smoke is THE most annoying character. He is the PINICLE of *learns 1 combo and spams that* which is already 90% of players in MK1
Btw I love reptile, I main him hard, he's just super fun to play.

Comments on Scorpion, he is more defensive, and has the most insane air combos. He also has the only TOD I've seen in-game so far. I agree at first he seems a little strange and much less... snappy? and quick, but he still has some pretty cool stuff. Personally, I'm also a Smoke main right now though.

If I wasn't already 110% convinced that I'd be maining Smoke, this video would have both convinced me to do exactly that, or play Rain (solely because of the portal mechanic). In MKX, I only ever used Sub 0, but I think it's time for a switch.... right after I finish Armored Core VI.

It seems after every timeline reboot she gets gayer and gayer, in the midway era she was straight, in 9, X, and 11 she was Bi, and now she's just fully lesbian. I highly disagree with the scorpion take i main him and he's really fun his combos are so cool and his custom looks like that because obviously he's lin kuai notice how smoke and subzero custome look the same the only bad thing I can think of is that he has no mixups but from what l've played with him it's not that much of a problem with the righ kameo

MK1 was great, one of my critics are that they did just character assassinated Bi-Han, in the original timeline he was ruthless but not full on evil, in the new timeline he’s just evil, doesn’t stop him from being bad ass though.
Honestly, Bi-Han has always been a dick, but never THIS much while he was alive and I think that's what tripped them. They were used to writing Bi-Han as Noob, so he's just full asshole from the beginning. Which is a shame as I've always loved Sub-Zero, when he's Kuai. So now I my favorite character no longer has my favorite moveset. I'm a little bitter, I won't lie.
Exactly this. In the OG timeline he literally tried to run away from the clan when he found out his soul was tainted but in this they just fucked over his character & showed that they know nothing about his character.

My top favorites to play Havik. I'm so glad he's back from the PS2 era games. I was requesting him to return for so long him Sareena Ashrah and Nitara. I like glad their all back except for Sareena she was supposed to be playable, but my first pick for the game is Liukang,Scorpion. I play them in every game, Havik,Li mei,Ashrah,and Nitara

I am all for switching characters up a bit, and I certainly have no problems with Tanya's design (unlike some). But as much as I like Tanya's character overall, I have to agree that this does not feel like Tanya. MKX Tanya had a personality that was not an overly annoying paladin and legit had an attack called "B*tch slap".

Scorpion by far is the one I've played with the most, yeah he is kinda a cheesy character but I enjoy him, plus the fact that he caused you to stop with your "jokes" is even more of a plus 😅
The only two characters I didn't really vibe with in terms of there "new" personality/protrayal is Bi-han and Tanya.
For Bi han, I was really not a fan of him being a cliche good guy turned villian. It felt way to forced in the first game of what's supposed to be the new timeline, it was super rushed and never really went anyway outside his ending. Out of all the characters that could have a better glow up, I think he had it the worse. Would have been better to see him stay true to being a neutral good guy, who rather just have lin kuei be the strongest clan, guide his brother to follow in his footstep as grand master' than wanting to rule earthrealm. Have him be the opposite of how he was as Noob saibot because I feel people forget that before he became noob, he was pretty much a neutral character who only served the lin kuei and didn't have a power complex.
With Tanya, I didn't really care at all about her race swap, her costume is very overdesigned but it was just more of her new story compared to her original. It was just kinda boring, I didn't really care much about it. She's supposed to be a strong amazon like warrior; similar to Wonder woman but it wasn't as investing or interesting as she was in mk X. I actually enjoyed her being a backstabbing person, who you really didn't know who's side she was on.

i know this game techincally has 8 playable ninjas, with a 9th coming via kombat pack 1 - but technically speaking NONE of them are ninjas in mk1, since the only actual ninja is now a chinese assassin lol

Scorpion being more boring than Mk11 Scorpion and Mk1 Sub Zero being more fun than Mk11 Sub Zero is because Kuai Liang is Scorpion and is more wholesome and kind than Bi Han ( Sub Zero ) and Hanzo Hasashi ( Mk11 Scorpion ) and during Mk11 Noob Saibot WAS Bi Han and Kuei Liang replaced Bi Han as Sub Zero, I learnt this watching youtube videos about actual players who are invested in the lore, I do not play Mortal Kombat but I watch it

for context kuai liang is bi hans brother and is sub-zero in mk 9 10 and 11 but becomes scorpion in mk 1 so i am playing only kuai liang because in my opinion his fight style had made both scorpion and sub-zero the best XD

Well Scorpion & Mileena are 2 of my favorite characters to play and if you think Scorpion was annoying in MK11 then you have not been paying attention to his rival counterpart Sub-Zero who is straight up more of an asshole. And also be careful when talking about Mileena's girlfriend, the fanbase won't take kindly to that lmao.

Scorpion hasn't been to Hell yet. Sub-zero is the first Sub-zero of the timeline, he's brutal and bent on conquest. This is the guy who slaughtered Scorpion's Clan, family and Scorpion himself the first time around
Technically Quan Chi is the one who killed Scorpion and his clan.

@@mohabalserafe3795in both the OG and Netherrealm timeline, the events of Mk mythologies: subzero still happened. During the events, he was on a quest given by the grand master at the time. Quan chi and the grand master formed a plan to slaughter all the shirai ryu during the time Bi han was not there. Quan chi had taken the form of Bi han in order to trick scorpion in to beliving he was the one behind the slaughter. So Bi han didn't know about the slaughter.
