      After what Honda did in decontenting the 11th gen Civic Si, for the Integra's more costly benefit, I wouldn't take either one of these cars. I would rather give Hyundai the money and buy the much better performing Elantra N.

      Integra originally hit the market as a luxury option to the civic. I feel like it became legendary after the GSR type R models hit the scene. So looking at it from that perspective they launched the base 4 door car first to offer that civic/civic si ish luxury sport option. Wait till they release a type s.

    I'm disappointed the Integra requires an ~$8k lift to get the manual. It'll be outsold by the Si for a couple years, then Honda will drop the Integra manual citing "lack of interest". That price delta should include more umph. From 1994, the 3rd-gen Integra offered a more powerful VTEC engine, producing significantly more horsepower than the Si of its day.

    • @trialbygaming4588
      @trialbygaming4588 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      100% truth, what sucks more is the fact that honda had it right in the last gen civic, manual for the sport iption and manual for the top sport touring, they should have implemented that here, base Aspec package with manual, and top of the line Aspec with tech manual, at almost 37k-38k for 200 hp it's a joke, at least a bade model integra could go for about 31k and that would sell very well, I think it would enhance the sales without cannibalizing the SI. Instead they priced it so high while making the car identical to an SI, so of course naturally people will save the money and buy the SI.

    • @Theedgecrusher93
      @Theedgecrusher93 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. Auto makes bury the manual option under the most expensive trim/options level, and then claim their is no interest. I think the manual driver is looking for more of a middle of the road spec car, that's value for the performance.

    • @trialbygaming4588
      @trialbygaming4588 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jpslaym0936 20 at the cra k is only like 11 to the wheels, considering the weight difference it wouldn't mean much cuz they use turbo engines, but this does highlight the stupidity of acura, a heavier car with more power needs better tires so why not give it summer tires as an option? Just more mind numbing choices by a brand that shouldn't exist.

  • @MC4D.
    @MC4D. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    For those that like to talk about how the old Integra doesn't compare to this new one, well The new Integra compared to the new Si are similar to the 2000 models. Only difference was that each had a different engine with a little difference in output (the GSR was midrange(rpm) focused while the Si was high range focused), versus the Si and ASpec having the same engine.
    -2000 Integra GSR had 170hp and torque @128lb-ft @$23,300
    -2000 Civic Si had 160hp and torque @111lb-ft @$17,500
    Price difference between the 2 is about $6k, which is actually a little more (with inflation) than the $8k difference between the '23 Integra and '22 Si. Technically the Integra still lives up to its name 🤷‍♂️

    Crazy that the manual Acura Integra costs $37,000 MSRP while manual Honda Civic Si is only $28,000 MSRP.
    The leather interior, hatchback design, and extra speakers of the Integra is nowhere not enough to justify the $9,000 price jump; especially because the Kia Forte GT and Hyundai Elantra N-Line offer leather seats at a price comparable to the Honda Si. In fact, the previous generation Si had Fog Lights, Active Suspension, and turn signal indicators at base yet they removed them only to reappear on the Integra.

      ...crazy that the Integra A-Spec now has the equipment the Si used to have, but when put in the Acura, the price jumped $10k. The previous gen Si had the adjustable suspension and a few other things...but now that stuff is no longer an option, but magically found its way into the Integra A-spec (double package car) and now is the "luxury" Si for $10k more. The Integra manual on back roads, hairpins, and with better tires (I am running DWS 06+) is a beast. So much fun and I never feel like I am out of control even at 9/10ths around curves. That LSD is amazing. The car also kills in heavy snow and ice with both Vredestein WinTrac Pros and Michelin X-Ice Snows. As a daily, I can fit huge items in it, the stereo is a league above what you get in the Si, and the adaptive dampers make for a very comfortable ride if you want it. I don't - I run it in Sport 24/7. The stock tires are just awful though. I got rid of them almost immediately. My snow tires are quieter than the ProContacts.

The Integra was ALWAYS just a slightly nicer civic, it also ALWAYS had slow 4 door versions in the states and it also NEVER competed with actual luxury cars. It was always compared to cars like the GTI. So this whole it doesn't have the pedigree is silly and shows you and those that like your comment know nothing about Integras or cars. You also mention an expensive car being slower.....silly comment price and speed don't always go hand in hand a heavier car with the same engine of course wouldn't be as fast.
