- We finally reach the end of Leon B and God was it intense! We met Boss after Boss and had major plot twists the whole way through. I really enjoyed this ending a lot! The developers didn't even give you a chance to breath in between the chaos XD
Overall I loved Resi 2 the most out of the two I've played. The remake really captured that charming vintage feeling of the older version and had those typical dramatic moments that really set you back almost 2 decades in gaming. Really so well done!

That final Mr X fight isn't about damage. You just need to hold him off until you get the rockets. Likewise, G4 Birkin (outside the train) in Claire's run isn't about damage, but popping his eyes. Grenades pop all of them at once, so a couple stacks of grenades and you don't even need the minigun. ;)
Damaging him does serve a purpose, as it shaves some time off the timer
@@sundowner414 realistically you only need like 9 grenades and all your flashes (should have like 6, use 2 for G2 and 1 for jail cell sequence). Maybe a magnum shot if you time your grenade wrong and he does hit one shot kill move. Good thing to keep in mind is magnum wont stun him after the first time you stagger him with it.

@@Marzz The reason Mr. X mutated at the end was because his suit was destroyed. Apparently, his suit had some kind of power-inhibiting ability; this was probably so that Umbrella could keep him under some semblance of their control just in case things went awry.
@@skyhawk00787 He has a inhibitor chip thats linked to his trench coat, when the coat goes off the inhibitor is disabled

So to give a brief explanation of what happened to Mr. X, Tyrants are prone to locational trauma mutation. This was considered a serious design defect by Umbrella because the Tyrant's use as a humanoid bio-weapon is significantly diminished when it enters a feral state like this.
To work around this defect, Umbrella outfitted Tyrants with tight 'limiter' jackets that put a lot of pressure on their torso and arms to keep them from excessively mutating when they experience severe trauma.
So his leather jacket phisically blocked mutations to grow?

Okay. I'm going to use a very childish comparison to make sure I got it: a jack-in-the-box.
So, the locational trauma is the crank turning. This makes the "real" Mr X want to pop out but the lid is latched with a hook (his jacket) so the real Mr X can't pop out. Not until the hook is undone, at any rate. And because of the crank and the lid fighting each other, Mr X needs to take a knee and catch his breath.
That comparison is as simple as I am but that is the gist, yes?

Yea just tone down the bullet sponge zombies with headshots and hardcore was brilliant.
This one doesnt have a realistic difficulty, right?
@M. Sami I disagree completely. I have an S+ in all 4 scenarios on hardcore and I had a blast doing it. Learning the quickest routes to take and managing my resources in the most optimal way possible all while dealing with ridiculously tough enemies was difficult, sure but that's the point. The sense of accomplishment I felt when seeing the S+ pop up after it was all done was akin to defeating the hardest Dark Souls boss.

If you were curious the other way to avoid the super Tyrant's 1 shot kill is to get behind the fallen rock debris, so the Tyrant attacks that instead.

@Omega Alpha Nah, she isn't much worse at it than Alyce was and they've both finished a similar number of RE games at this point. Though Alyce was really stubborn about playing RE0 before REmake/REmake 2. lol
It'd be worth a playthrough to see her experience the gothic horror atmosphere of the first game. Half of the fun in these games is being forced to learn the level layouts and optimal paths through backtracking.
There is no resident evil 1 remake. They did a remaster but that's not the same.

They did a REMASTER of the 2002 REMAKE of the game that came out in 1996.

@@kdford3954 Fine.. I stand corrected. There has not been a resident evil 1 remake in almost 20 years, but most people wouldn't know it was a remake back then because the majority of the people playing resident evil games now days were baby's or not even born when the first one came out.

Though the remaster of the remake still sold well enough so I think it still has solid footing in today's gaming world.

Okay, so this is mildly confusing because they kind of fumbled the A/B scenarios with this game and this is one of the few moments that is actually legit synced up with Claire's campaign. So when Claire was giving the anti-virus to Sherry and the alarm randomly started going off, it was because Leon removed the G-sample in his scenario.
The reason this is SUPER wonky is because both Claire and Leon fight Birkin separately with the help of Annette. So while Annette is dying in Sherry's arms, she's also busy taking potshots at Ada on the catwalk. The OG game got around this by having more continuity between the A/B scenarios. Leon, for example, actually keeps in touch with Claire throughout the story, meets Sherry prior to the finale, and can get sent on a side-mission to retrieve stuff for Sherry in his campaign when you're in the Nest.
It was one of the bigger shortcomings of the remake that was likely caused by the tight budgeting that comes with creating modern HD assets.
Thank you for this! I was confused at points on how the 2 stories connected so it’s nice to know that it made more sense in the original! I definitely felt like there were holes in the story that were confusing me a bit hahah.
@@LiteWeightGaming Yeah, the continuity between the scenarios was actually one of the more unique aspects of RE2. It even carried over into the item management system where you could choose to leave excess items behind for the B scenario character during the A scenario.
With the way this game handles it, it's closer to the REmake where Chris and Jill do things in a slightly different order and meet some different characters. lol

@@LiteWeightGaming get an old tv and ps1 the original is a master piece then your see the proper cross over in the story with claire and leon! The remake is brilliant don't get me wrong but instead of doing the four endings just put both ends in one game for a one game experience.

There's no dodge button in RE2, but there might be one in the upcomming RE3 Remake since the original had it. Also nicely done figuring out how to stop the charge. You can also hide behind the rubble if it hasn't been destroyed by his swipes. =)

Congrats on beating it again, good job =) You say you don't play games twice, tho I have to ask: did you make an exception for The Witcher 3 dlc Blood & Wine? If not, you absolutely must! Not gonna spoil it just in case you haven't played the dlc, but the story forks into hours of unique content that is quite unforgettable. It would really be a shame to miss half of it when you're a huge Witcher fan.
